Chapter 276
Leave You Alone
Harper narrowed her eyes slightly and looked at Frank with an obscure look.
She subconsciously remembered the words Benjamin had said. At once, endless questions rose in her mind.
Harper thought, "Did Frank actually make Michelle make a mistake on purpose?"
The more she thought about it, the more she found it a little unbelievable. But having that doubt permanently suspended in her mind made her feel very uncomfortable.
Harper didn't say anything further, just reassured Frank not to overthink.
She was coming out of Frank's office when Benjamin's call came in.
Benjamin told her, "I'll pick you up later. Let's go back to the Martin Manor for dinner tonight, okay?"
"Okay."
"What are you doing?"
"Work!"
Harper didn't know why he was suddenly asking that.
Benjamin just said, "Okay." And then it got quiet.
At the moment, Lauren was under the Martin Building and wanted to see Benjamin, but the receptionist said there was no way to meet without an appointment. Lauren could only call Curtis. Curtis didn't know what Benjamin was planning to do, so he had to ask for permission.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
He entered and saw Benjamin on the phone, his eyes signaling something to report. Benjamin asked lightly, "What is it?"
Curtis hesitated a bit. And Benjamin said, "If you have something to say, say it."
"Mr. Martin, Ms. Davis is downstairs and wants to see you!" Curtis said truthfully.
Benjamin's expression gloomed momentarily, and he then heard Harper's indifferent voice. "I'll leave you alone then."
After saying that, she simply hung up the phone.
Benjamin frowned and gave Curtis a cold look, his eyes tinged with anger and displeasure.
Curtis felt aggrieved and thought, "He obviously told me to say that."
But Curtis lowered his head in a hurry.
Benjamin put down his cell phone and said indifferently, "Get her up here!"
He looked down, playing around with his phone, and finally sent Harper a message: [I didn't know she was coming.]
Harper didn't reply but just looked at it and tossed her phone aside. She casually took the file and read it a couple of times, but there wasn't a single word that she could read.
She thought she must be feeling a little annoyed by Benjamin's words because she didn't want to hear the name Lauren.
There was no reason other than that.
Harper thought, "Yes, it must be."
She sighed heavily, resting her cheeks on her hands and starting to wonder about things.
Benjamin didn't get a response from Harper, and he looked at his cell phone a few times before Curtis came in with Lauren.
It was the first time Lauren had seen Benjamin since she found out Harper was pregnant.
She looked at Benjamin and pressed her lips together lightly, her hands tightly gripping the bag. She stood there straight. Curtis left before she heard Benjamin ask faintly, "What's the matter with you coming over so suddenly?"
Lauren felt his indifference quite clearly.
She pressed her lips together and said softly, "Benjamin, I came to ask you a question. I want to hear you tell me the truth. Is that okay?" "What's the question?"
Benjamin looked up at her without much emotion or content in his eyes.
Lauren gazed at him. "Are you not getting a divorce because Harper's pregnant, not because you're in love with her?" Benjamin frowned at her coldly. "Does it matter?"
"Benjamin, it may not matter to you,
but it matters a lot to me. So can you tell me? You're not in love with her. You're just choosing not to get a divorce because she's pregnant with your child. Right?"
Instead of answering the question, Benjamin looked at Lauren with an expressionless face and said very
coldly and lightly, "Lauren, does it et
really matter that much if I love Harper or not? What you care about is whether I love Harper or not, or Whether I'm divorced or not?"
Lauren was stunned.
He added indifferently, "The only thing I can tell you is that my children will only be born to Harper."
