Chapter 782
Chapter 782
Agnes had made it through the second round of interviews to go directly to the third round.
Only three candidates remained after round two.
The other two were experienced journalists with years of experience working for the network.
Everyone knew that the selection process was composed of three rounds: a written test for round one,
and an interview for round two. However, no one was sure what round three entailed.
Today, the details of the third round were finally revealed.
It was a test of their abilities to conduct impromptu news interviews.
Judson had chosen three topics from three different locations for the candidates to dig out news
stories. Furthermore, the content of their reports would be broadcast live on the station.
Judson and a few group leaders would score the three journalists based on their on-site performances,
and the one with the highest score would become the main anchor for The Primary Perspective.
Agnes was assigned to cover a mine disaster on the east side of town.
The news actually broke the day before, and the event was still escalating. Each anchor was paired
with a cameraman.
Agnes was paired with Hans and they set off to the scene together.
At first, things went smoothly. Agnes was skilled at improvising on the spot, thanks to her years of All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
working in Manhattan. However, Agnes didn't expect that Hans would make a rookie mistake.
Agnes' interview couldn't be broadcast back to the station.
Agnes decided to re-record the interview, but suddenly, Hans complained of a stomachache and
disappeared.
Agnes had a bad feeling about this. She then recalled that when they were choosing their cameramen,
Hans had volunteered to pair up with her.
Agnes didn't know Hans personally, but she often saw him going in and out of Yolanda's office.
Although Agnes couldn't be sure if this was a deliberate setup by Yolanda, she refused to just sit and
do nothing. After pondering for a while, Agnes decided to call Ben for help. Ben was a friend she met
four years ago at CHERRY. Although Ben was an entertainment journalist, he had a lot of experience in
the industry.
Ben arrived shortly after Agnes' call. With Ben's help, Agnes managed to complete her task
successfully.
Watching the performance of the candidates on the screen, Judson immediately decided that Agnes
would be the leading reporter for The Primary Perspective.
Yolanda, however, was clenching her fists in frustration. She couldn't believe that even after bribing
Hans, Agnes was still able to pull it off.
When Agnes returned, Judson announced the results immediately. Everyone in the control room came
to congratulate Agnes.
Yolanda raised an eyebrow and walked over. "Agnes, congratulations. Hans really let you down. Who
could have predicted he would mess up at such a crucial moment? Maybe you should consider
quitting, Hans. You nearly ruined the career of our future star reporter."
Hans, shocked, looked at Yolanda, wanting to say something but was silenced by her glare.
Agnes was surprised by Yolanda's ruthlessness in trying to absolve herself from the situation.
Agnes smiled and said, "Hans was unwell, so it's understandable. Let's forget about this. Director, what
do you think?"
Yolanda responded nonchalantly, "If you're okay with it, then I have no objections."
At this moment, Hans looked up at Agnes gratefully, while also looking remorseful.
Yolanda then turned to Judson, "Mr. Judson, the Golden Gazelle Film Gala is being held in our city,
which is quite a rare occasion. I've been following this event closely. Since The Primary Perspective
has been established, why don't we make the Golden Gazelle Film Gala our first episode? What do
you think?"
