Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared)

Chapter 783

Chapter 783

Judson mulled it over for a moment and said, "That's a sound plan. I'll leave it to you then."

Yolanda chuckled, "No worries, Mr. Judson. I'll make sure everything runs smoothly."

Agnes watched Yolanda's expression, feeling that something was about to happen again.

Judson came over, patting Agnes' shoulder. "Agnes, this is your first time hosting an international show

and it's also the first episode of the series. Give it your all."

Agnes nodded, "I will, Mr. Judson." She figured there was no other way but to face whatever comes Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

head-on.

That night, Agnes returned home, utterly exhausted. Jared had been working overtime, and Nocturne

was brought into Jared's office. The vast Maplewood Manor felt eerily quiet.

Agnes felt weary. After a quick dinner, she flopped onto her bed and fell asleep almost immediately.

When Jared came back, she woke up. Rubbing her eyes, Agnes switched on the bedside lamp and

asked, "You're back."

Jared loosened his tie and came over, kissing gently on Agnes' cheek. "Did I wake you?"

Agnes shook her head. She knew Jared had been troubled recently due to work-related issues.

There was this fierce competition over the Harmony Hollow land, and it was moving at an alarming

speed. Agnes had overheard this during her visit to the Tim Group when Leo and Jared were

discussing it.

Comfortingly, Agnes said, "If we can't get the land, it's not the end of the world. We'll just earn a little

less. Don’t make yourself so tired."

Jared chuckled, "Look who's talking. You're just as tired."

Agnes then shared the good news that she had become the leading reporter for The Primary

Perspective, and that she was going to cover a film festival the next day.

Mentioning the film festival, Jared said, "What a coincidence! I'll be there too."

"What are you doing at the film festival?"

"Don’t you know? I've been invited as a special award presenter."

Agnes had received the film festival's information in her email, but she had been too tired to check it.

The festival wouldn't start until six the next evening, so she had plenty of time.

And this time, the station had scored an exclusive interview with the Golden Gazelle Garnish award-

winning actress.

However, the script would be written after the results were announced, so there wasn't much to prepare

yet.

Jared stroked Agnes' hair and asked, "How about we go together tomorrow night?"

Agnes quickly shook her head. "I can't. I have a duty."

Jared scoffed, "Stop making excuses. You just don't want to be seen in public with me."

Jared had seen right through Agnes, looking a little miffed.

Agnes didn't really mind, but she was a reporter. If she were to appear with Jared tomorrow, she would

become the focus of the news.

Agnes comforted Jared, "Let's skip it this time. After all, it's my first interview. Let's find an appropriate

occasion to go public with the media later. What do you think?"

Hearing Agnes' words, Jared's frown gradually disappeared. He had intentionally teased Agnes. Since

she worked in broadcasting, Jared naturally understood her position. But he enjoyed pretending to be

upset and watching Agnes rack her brains to comfort him.

Jared had to admit that he found it oddly satisfying.
