Chapter 353
Chapter 353
Lillian and Lauren immediately held their tongues as soon as they saw Coralie descending the stairs.
Both of them looked at Coralie warily.
"I didn't hear anything. Please continue."
Coralie purposefully remarked, and then went on her way to the kitchen.
The two sisters in the living room did not say anything else.
Coralie returned to the bedroom and handed the milk bottle to Hendric. After Hendric was done with his
milk, instead of going back to sleep, he hugged Coralie by the neck and asked, "Mom, starting from
tomorrow, is it true that I won't be able to meet you regularly again? Will I have to wait for a long time
before seeing you?"
Coralie felt a sad tug on her heart upon hearing her son's question.
This matter could only be resolved after Skylar's return. He would have to talk to Lilian.
"Just be patient, until your father returns, then we would not need to send you away to boarding school
anymore. When the day comes, you will then be able to see us every day."
Coralie then gently patted Hendric's back while coaxing him to sleep.
"When will Dad come back then?"
"It won't be long from now."
"When will that be?"
"In about one or two months..."
In fact, Coralie was not sure when exactly Skylar would return. However, Skylar had told her that it Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
would be two months before he returned so Coralie could only tell Hendric what she knew.
"Well, then I will wait for Dad to come back..."
He then fell asleep. Coralie could hear the even breathing coming from him.
......
The next morning, Hendric got up before seven o'clock. Coralie dressed him up and brought him
downstairs, only to find that there was no one around.
Even the maid was not there.
"What's going on?"
Although Coralie did not know why there was no one around, her first reaction was to take Hendric
away with her.
Just as she was about to put on her shoes and open the door, a servant came out from a small door on
the side. He was shocked to see Coralie standing in the living room with Hendric in her arms.
"Miss Chariott, you got up so early."
The maid said to her politely.
"Early?"
Coralie looked at her watch. She had even helped Hendric with his bath and a change of clothes. It
was already half past seven. How could the maid only have woken up?
"Madam Ford usually doesn't get up until nine o'clock, and she doesn't like us waking her up, so we
also get up quite late."
The maid explained.
Coralie then remembered that Lilian had been chatting with her sister even past midnight. No wonder
she got up late as well.
And yet she still insisted on taking care of Hendric herself...
"Oh, I see... I will take Hendric out for breakfast then."
Coralie took the opportunity to say.
She felt that as long as she did not let Lillian get her hands on Hendric, then it would be fine.
Coralie said as she opened the door.
However, when she opened the door, she found two bodyguards dressed in black who were sitting
down and leaning against the wall, asleep. As soon as they heard Coralie opening the door, they
immediately stood up in alert.
"Huh. Well, you guys can go back to sleep."
After saying that, Coralie closed the door again.
No wonder Lillian could sleep with ease and was not afraid that Coralie would run away. It turned out
that there were bodyguards at the door.
The maid had also read Coralie's mind. "Miss Chariott, Madam Ford has not only situated security
guards at the door, but has also spoken to the neighborhood's security guards. Why don't you have
breakfast at home?"
"Alright."
Coralie sat at the table with Hendric in her arms, and watched as the servant entered the kitchen to
prepare breakfast.
After breakfast, Lillian got up a little after 9 o'clock. She had some oatmeal, then put on makeup and
changed her clothes. It was almost 11 o'clock when she sent Hendric to kindergarten.
The private kindergarten was very far away, and it took about an hour to reach by car.
When they arrived at the kindergarten, it was almost one o'clock in the afternoon. The teacher who was
in charge of the reception of the school was waiting by the door. After helping them off the car, she
said, "Hello, I am Jones and this time, I was assigned to receive you. May I know if you would like to
have lunch or take a look around the school first?"
"Let's have lunch."
Coralie answered first.
They had breakfast at 8 o'clock, and it would have been digested by now. Plus, Hendric was still a child
so he couldn't help but be hungry.
However, as soon as Coralie opened her mouth, Lillian immediately casted her a look of disgust.
"Eating lunch right after having breakfast? Haven't you eaten yet?"
"You may have just eaten but Hendric ate before 8 o'clock in the morning. So, it is his time for lunch."
Coralie replied angrily.
Jones saw that the two were about to quarrel so she quickly came over and said, "If the child is hungry,
let him eat first. Let's accompany him to eat before we look around the school."
The teachers in the school have seen many types of people, most commonly those parents who were
proud and arrogant. Especially the pairings of a wife and her mother-in-law. They would be provoked
easily with just a few words.
"I'm hungry."
Hendric spoke up as well.
When Lillian heard that her grandson was hungry, she immediately smiled and said to Hendric, "Are
you hungry? Well, let's go have a meal."
After hearing Lillian's words, Jones then took them to the restaurant in the school's buggy car.
Coralie was sitting in the back row with Hendric. In the car, Hendric held on to Coralie's neck and
whispered, "Mom, I hate Grandma."
“Behave."
Coralie patted Hendric's head, feeling a little uncomfortable as well.
She didn't like Lillian, but she knew that she shouldn't say that in front of a child.
......
After lunch, they then visited the pre-school division in the afternoon.
It had to be said that private kindergartens were indeed on another level. When it came to their facilities
and teachers, everything was of the highest quality.
After the tour, they officially signed the contract.
On the form, they had to provide the name of the child's parents.
Lillian happily wrote Skylar's name under the 'Father' section. Sure enough, after Lillian was finished
writing, Jones, as well as the other teachers around her, immediately asked enviously, "Is Skylar your
son?"
"Yeah, my grandson is very precious to me. You should never mistreat him."
Lillian said triumphantly.
"I know, I know."
Now that Jones knew this, it naturally meant that she would take extra care of Hendric in the future.
Looking at this Coralie, she couldn't help but think of the scene when she had registered at the
kindergarten in the residential area. After Hendric said that her father was Skylar, he had been
mercilessly mocked by the kindergarten teacher.
After that, Lillian reluctantly wrote down Coralie's name under the 'Mother' section.
When everything was done, Jones took out two small golden cards and said, "This will be the card
used to pick up Hendric from time to time. You must have this with you in order to pick him up."
After she said that, she was going to give Lillian and Coralie one card each.
"You don't have to give them to her, just pass them to me." Just as the card was about to land in
Coralie's hand, Lillian reached out and took both cards away. "I will pick up the child in the future, but
you can't pick them up."
"Why not?"
"Why? What if you hide him away? I don't like the idea of you having the card!"
Lillian said as she put the two cards in her bag.
"What if you forget to pick up Hendric?"
"I'm his grandmother. How can I possibly forget?"
Lillian said to herself.
She was always on guard when it came to Coralie.
