Chapter 352
Chapter 352
......
"Such a young kid learning horse riding?" Coralie thought to herself.
However, she couldn't say anything.
As Lillian seemed to be in a good mood, she just followed Lillian's wishes.
"That's fine."
Jayson had only come to help, so he could only agree with Lillian. After all, she had the right to speak
as the child was with her.
"Well, then I'll send the child over there tomorrow. You can pick him up every fortnight. And when you
do, drop the child at my place."
Lilian said.
Upon hearing this, Coralie was a little dumbfounded. "Half a month? What do you mean?"
"It's a boarding school." Lillian looked at Coralie in disdain, as if she was a bumpkin who had never
seen the world. "All the good schools nowadays are boarding schools. The parents are busy so they
can't drive their children back and forth to school. However, the teachers there are much better than
you."
Lillian would rather trust those teachers whom she had never met before, rather than trust Coralie.
"But it is as you've said. Those kids are going to boarding school because their parents are busy. I am
not so I can drive Hendric back and forth to school," she insisted.
"Have you finally realized who you're talking to right now? Where did that arrogant attitude of yours
go?"
Lillian taunted as soon as she heard the change in tone from Coralie.
Coralie was immediately angered upon hearing that, but she could only soften her voice to avoid
conflict with Lilian. After all, she hadn't seen Hendric yet, and she was only here because of Jayson. "I
may have been a little anxious, but rightfully so. After all, I'm Hendric's mother, and you have just
snatched him away."
"I'm his grandmother! How could I hurt him?"
Lillian placed her both hands on her hips arrogantly.
"But... I don't think he needs to go to a boarding school."
How could Coralie bear to let her child attend a boarding kindergarten?
Coralie felt that the only reason Lilian would suggest something like this, was because she didn't love
Hendric at all.
"Good schools are all boarding schools. On top of that, boarding schools cultivate students to become
more independent. Moreover, if other people's kids are able to stay there, what makes Hendric an
exception?"
Lillian had always liked comparing herself to others.
She would naturally not let go of the matter concerning her grandson's kindergarten.
Before Coralie had the chance to say something else. Jayson interrupted, "Then we'll do as you say,
boarding school it is. It is good to train the child as well."RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
......
Coralie felt frustrated after hearing Jayson’s words.
“Yes, I agree that it would be beneficial for the kid to learn how to be independent.” Lilian glanced at
Coralie and said, “Hendric will be staying at my place today, I’ll send him to school tomorrow.”
“No way!” Coralie protested at once, “You have no experience in taking care of children! ”
“Wasn’t it me who brought up Skylar?” Lillian argued.
Deep down, Lilian knew that what she said was a lie. When Skylar was younger, babysitters would be
there to look after him while she was playing tabletop games with her friends. If she had a good game,
she would hug him for a little while; if she had lost, then she would ignore him completely.
When Skylar had grown a little older, his time had been fully occupied with the homework that Anthony
had assigned to him.
In fact, Skylar and Lillian weren't even close.
“But Hendric hasn’t met you before!”
Coralie started growing anxious.
From Lilian's words, Coralie had guessed that Lilian wasn't going to allow her to meet Hendric that day.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
Before the door was opened, Hendric's loud wails could already be heard from the other side of the
door.
“Mom, I want to see my mom!”
Hendric was crying hard.
Coralie's heart was aching as she ran over to the door.
A bodyguard dressed in all-black was holding Hendric in his arms, and another middle-aged woman
stood beside him. The both of them had worry written all over their faces.
When Hendric noticed Coralie, he jumped into her arms crying. “Mom!”
His voice was hoarse; it seemed he had been crying the whole time. Now that he was in Coralie’s
arms, his sobs gradually softened.
The middle-aged woman looked at Coralie and said, “God, this kid has been crying all day! The people
in the shopping mall even thought that we were abducting him. We then had no choice but to leave him
in the car and buy the stuff we needed ourselves."
Coralie frowned upon hearing that.
How could these two have left Hendric alone in the car and went off on their own? This was such a
dangerous act! there had been many news reports where children had suffocated to death after being
left alone in the car.
"I will never leave Hendric alone with you guys anymore."
Coralie said, holding Hendric in her arms.
“Why?” Lillian immediately frowned. “Can’t you see all the things that I have bought just to take care of
him? I’m his grandmother! Why can't I take care of him?”
"It is dangerous to leave Hendric alone in the car! There are a lot of reported cases where kids have
died of suffocation because of that!"
Coralie said angrily.
"What's wrong with leaving a child in the car for a while? Who hasn't done it before."
"This is different."
"How is it different?"
The conversation was getting heated.
Hendric was only a little child, and it was common sense to keep an eye on a young child at all times.
However, Lilian had lacked even this bit of common sense. If Coralie really were to leave Hendric with
her, God knows what would happen.
Jayson, as Skylar's assistant, frowned upon hearing Lilian's words. "Miss Chariott, why don't you stay
at the Holland family house for the night? We have a lot of guest rooms anyway."
"No!" Lillian instantly refused. "I don't welcome her staying here".
"I'm going to bring Hendric home today. I'll bring him back tomorrow for you to send him to the
kindergarten."
Coralie couldn't care less about staying with the Holland family; her relationship with Lilian was bad
enough, why would she deliberately choose to live with her?
"Lillian, I think it's better to let Coralie stay here. Hendric is an unruly child."
The middle-aged woman who had taken Hendric to the mall also tried to persuade Lilian. She had been
through enough just taking Hendric out to the mall.
After countless persuasions, Lillian finally gave in and agreed to let Chariot stay the night with Hendric.
Coralie knew that taking Hendric away was impossible, so she had to compromise.
......
Hendric had merely slept for a few hours that night when he woke up crying for milk. Coralie put on her
coat and went down to make Hendric some milk with the milk powder Lillian had bought that afternoon.
She noticed that the lights in the living room were still on.
She then heard Lilian's younger sister saying, "Sis, that kid really is disobedient. He even bit me while I
was buying him things. Does he have rabies?"
"That's impossible. The children of the Holland family would never have rabies. Even if he did, it's most
likely that he had gotten it from his mother."
"You're right, how could our nephew fall for someone like her? I just don't see how she's better than
Miss Rae."
"Who knows? Wait till I snatch her child away from her and drive her away. We don't have to accept her
just because she gave birth to a son."
Coralie shook her head in exasperation after listening in on their conversation. She then headed down
to the kitchen.
