Chapter 1485
Realizing this, Simona quickly put the thought aside. Aiken was nothing like her. While she might easily be deceived, Aiken was definitely not someone who could be easily tricked by a woman.
The most he might fall for was a woman using his body, but never his heart.
On her way back to college, Simona remembered that she needed to add Stephen back to her blacklist. She also took a moment to check Instagram.
Suddenly, she noticed a post from Wendy. They had both been accepted into the same college years ago, but Wendy had gone abroad to study afterward.
The two of them kept in touch and contacted each other from time to time.
Wendy had returned a few days ago, but Simona had been too busy to meet up with her. They had planned to have lunch together on Sunday. However, now that Simona saw the street view Wendy had posted, she suddenly felt she should visit her.
No matter what happened, Simona always had Aiken to back her up. And with Skylar and Caleb by her side, she never felt alone.
But Wendy had no such support. Her family couldn't really be called a family. For years, Wendy had been on her own.
"Hey, Wendy, do you have time tonight? Let's grab dinner together."
Skylar had been working overtime for three straight days at the Gardner Group building. She and Caleb were restoring a valuable antique.
...
She massaged her sore neck, feeling the fatigue. "Finally, time to clock out."
Caleb stretched lazily and yawned. "I'm dead tired, but at least it's done."
The work they had done over these few days had far surpassed his workload from the previous month.
"It's dinner time. Want to go grab a bite?" Caleb casually asked Skylar. It had been a while since they had eaten together.
Skylar shook her head. "Not today. I'm too tired. I'm going home to rest. I'll treat you in a few days."
"Alright," Caleb said, sounding a little down.

He had come to realize that his one-sided feelings for her were never going to be reciprocated. Skylar and Joe had become inseparable, so he figured he might as well stop being the third wheel.

The two of them packed up and left the building together. Caleb still preferred riding his motorcycle to work. He revved the engine and disappeared down the street in an instant.
Skylar made her way toward her car.
Suddenly, someone called out to her from behind. "Skylar, we need to talk."
Hearing the familiar voice, Skylar paused and turned around. When she saw Rosa standing there, her cheek swollen and her eyes red and puffy, Skylar was a bit surprised.
She said, "I don't think there's anything for us to talk about."
Rosa's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Skylar, but the jealousy, envy, and even a hint of resentment were impossible for her to hide.
"No, there's a lot we need to talk about. Are you happy now, seeing me like this? Or are you just enjoying my misery?"
Skylar sighed. "Go ahead, what is it?"
It seemed that if she didn't talk to Rosa today, she wouldn't leave her alone. Skylar still couldn't understand Rosa's thought process.
