Chapter 20 : I'm not spying on you, really!

She always blushed at his approach and didn't know how to react, she didn't know if this was feeling

something for him, she had never felt such emotions towards Marcos.

But she knew that Carlos and she were from different worlds because of their identities....

She could not give him any answer...

Carlos grabbed her chin, not allowing her to turn her head away.

-Did he just kiss you?

Carlos asked with an icy gleam in his eyes.

Micaela froze for a moment, shocked, her mind went back to the scene on TV where the heroine was

kissed by someone else and the man had to personally disinfect the heroine... So she shook her head

immediately.

-Really? Then why do I seem to have seen that...?

Carlos was talking while he wanted to kiss her....

Micaela turned her head away and shouted:

-He didn't kiss me, it was just a touch on my cheek.....

-Is it this way?

Carlos gave a soft peck on her cheek.

It was a peck, but it made the girl's body shudder slightly.

Micaela thought her brain must have short-circuited, because she turned her neck and turned the other

side of her face towards him....

-Oh, this way? -she said as she was about to give another kiss....

There was a knock at the door and Micaela pushed him away in fright, getting up and running to the

door.

Micaela tried to open the door and a large hand rested on it, his magnificent body pressed against the

small of Micaela's back.

Carlos rested one hand on the door, looked down and gave her a kiss on the other cheek as well.

-Face your feelings for me, okay?

Micaela felt her heart was going to burst out of her chest, she bit her lip, not knowing what to do, not

rejecting his touch at all....

His other hand overlapped Micaela's on the doorknob and, with a push, the door opened.

-Sir, Miss Noboa!

Carlos pushed Micaela back a step and Diego stepped aside as several people behind him, all with

elaborate lunch boxes in their hands, snuck in, found the table, set things up and left.

Diego put down Carlos' phone, closed the door and walked out.

Micaela was still flushed and a little nervous, but Carlos made himself at home and pulled her into the

seat.

Micaela stood in awe at the beautifully presented dishes, it looked like the work of a great chef.

It was the fourth day she had lived there, and it was the first time she had sat here for a formal dinner,

on top of that it was with him?

Micaela sneaked a glance at him, the hair on his forehead looked soft, he was ladling the soup with a

spoon, his eyes focused, his thin lips pursed before he put the bowl of soup in front of her....

Carlos looked at her and Micaela looked away in a panic....

-I'm not spying on you, really!

***

Micaela wanted to bite her tongue, "Don't be so obvious!".

Carlos chuckled a little.

Micaela looked at his faint smile and felt her heart beating fast and lowered her head hurriedly.

-I know. Come on, eat.

If it weren't for the table that separated them, she would have liked to rub his head at the sight of his

rueful face.

Sometimes she was a shy little girl, sometimes foolish enough to be bullied.

Micaela looked down, wanting to bury her burning red face in her plate....

After dinner, Micaela busied herself clearing the table while Carlos took a seat on the couch and

worked on something important on his phone.

It was so awkward not having a computer....

Carlos wondered if he should ask Diego to bring his laptop....

Looking up, Micaela already cleared the table and was doing something in the small kitchen.

This felt pretty good.

Micaela found nothing else to do in the kitchen, so she went out and as soon as she came out, she saw

Carlos looking at her thoughtfully.

Micaela coughed twice and looked away.

-Carlos, it's getting late, you should go home..... NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Carlos got up.

Thinking he was really leaving, Micaela hurried to the door and went to open it....

Carlos grabbed her by the arm.

-Carlos grabbed her by the arm, "That Marcos is still downstairs, aren't you afraid he'll come up in the

middle of the night and cause trouble?

Micaela was startled and her heart beat faster....

It was clear she was still distressed.

Carlos pushed her towards the bedroom.

-Go take a shower and get some rest, I'll stay here with you.

Did he mean he wanted to spend the night here?

Micaela's heart beat faster....

Seeing that she stood still wanting to say something, Carlos whispered in her ear.

-Or do you want me to take a shower?

Micaela ran into the bedroom....

Carlos took a seat on the sofa, how could he give Marcos the opportunity to go upstairs?

He called the guards on the first floor to keep watch and let him go alone after he had filled the guts of

the mosquitoes.

As he thought of the consequences of if he hadn't made it in time....

"I promise to make Marcos' life hell!".

But now, he wasn't going to have a good time either....

He leaned back against the back of the couch and stared at the ceiling. This being under the same roof

and doing nothing made him feel so comfortable that he didn't think about leaving.

"Carlos, you're really crazy...".

Ten minutes later, Micaela came out in her pajamas, the more conservative style she bought at the

neighborhood supermarket when she first moved in, the kind that enveloped from head to toe.

-Carlos, come back, I have no bed or blanket for you here... if you come up here, I'll call the police!

Don't worry.

Carlos opened his eyes to look at her, her small face with her long hair pulled back, exposing her snow

white neck, and even though she was standing quite far away, he could still smell the fresh scent of her

recent bath.

-Come here.

Micaela shook her head violently, unconsciously clutching the collar of her pajamas.

Carlos observed her small gesture and curved the corner of his mouth, "What a fool...."

-Then go to sleep.

Micaela gave Carlos a stern look and turned around to go into the room....

The next day, Micaela woke up in a daze, sat up violently, put on her slippers and opened the door to

her room.

He was no longer on the sofa....

Micaela was relieved that he had returned home... "He left in the middle of the night?".

He was 6'2" and a gentleman, how could he stand to spend a night on the couch...?

Catching the smell of food, Micaela walked over to the table and was surprised to see a packed

breakfast from Salas Caribe on the table.

Had it been gone for nothing?

She opened the lid, it was seafood porridge, very fresh looking and still steaming?

Micaela's movements stopped....

Last night she had leaned out to look at him, and he had been lying on the couch, not knowing if he

was asleep or just resting his eyes.

She knew that, although he was dominant, he was also a gentleman and surely wouldn't do anything to

her, but she still couldn't bring herself to share half the bed with him.

Sharing a bed and all that was only done by couples.....
