Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 295

Chapter 295

Chapter 295 Where‘s The Ring? A few days ago, Connie had officially joined the cast of “Manor of the

Marquis”. This time, she managed to land herself a better role–the marquis‘s fifth mistress. Though the

character wasn‘t a good person, there were still things about the character that could win the

audience‘s pity. Connie would probably be able to get some fans from this show. Moreover, she

received a payment of three hundred thousand dollars after signing the contract. That was more than

enough for her to rent a place in Genovia for her family, which Cindy had been pressuring her to do.

As for her grandmother... They couldn‘t allow her to take up the whole house back in Pentatone

County. They had no choice but to bring her along with them to Genovia so they could put the house up C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

for rent. No one had taken them up on the offer yet, though.

On this day, Madelynn had crashed the film set, claiming that Connie had left her in the lurch. She

claimed Connie hadn‘t finished discussing her next show before leaving.

Connie and Madelynn had officially parted ways.

Initially, nobody knew who Connie was. Thanks to Madelynn slapping her, though, the whole crew

knew about her.

Connie had remained silent while holding a hand to her face, looking pitiful.

She just kept crying.

It was well known in the industry that Madelynn liked to put on airs and take her temper out on her

assistants. The whole crew was on Connie‘s side, and said that Madelynn would eventually get what

she deserved.

Madelynn left in a huff.

She couldn‘t help feeling contemptuous toward the crew. How could they have asked her assistant to

act in “Manor of the Marquis” instead of asking her, an A–list actress?

Though Connie wasn‘t in a good mood, at least there was still a silver lining. She had become familiar

with the crew and had managed to expand her network. She was still no match for Clarissa, though.

However, she felt that she would one day be able to turn the tables. When she saw Damien

accompanying a heavily pregnant Clarissa, Connie burned with rage and jealousy.

As she looked at the tea that Damien hadn‘t even touched, she was awash with inferiority.

Did he think that her house was dirty, or that there was poison in the tea?

Connie‘s blood was boiling!

Damien‘s gaze swept over the place. It was pretty big, and could be considered spacious. Clarissa was

still talking to her grandmother, and he had already finished flipping through the magazine. He felt a

little bored.

“Is this rented, or did you buy it?” “Oh, it‘s rented. Eight thousand a month,” Connie said.

“That‘s not bad.”

“It‘s acceptable.” Connie thought he was starting a conversation with her, but he didn‘t say anything

else after that.

She felt extremely awkward.

“I‘ll go get Grandma and Clarissa some water.” She stood up and went to her grandmother‘s room.

Clarissa was talking to her grandmother, but she didn‘t seem to be too lucid.

It had been a while since Clarissa had last seen her, and she looked like she‘d aged a lot. She was

already old, to begin with, but now, she looked like she had one foot in the grave.

“Where‘s your mother? Why didn‘t she come?” Her grandmother patted her hand. “My mom?” Clarissa

was taken aback. ‘I guess Uncle Peter and Aunt Cindy didn‘t tell her, for her sake. “We didn‘t tell her,”

Connie whispered into her ear. “Don‘t slip up.”

As expected, they hadn‘t told her.

This warmed her a little. What Clarissa didn‘t know was that Peter and Cindy hadn‘t told the old lady

about it because they had already thought of Theresa as dead to them. Theresa‘s death didn‘t matter

to them, and nor did the old lady. Thus, there was no reason for them to tell her about it.

“My mom‘s at home. She told me to come to see you,” Clarissa said.

“Where‘s the ring?” her grandmother suddenly asked. She still looked dazed. Clarissa was confused.

“What ring?”

“Your ring.”

Clarissa racked her brains, but she couldn‘t think of any sort of ring.
