Chapter 156: Did He Want Yanis’s Life?

At last, Zane said nothing but some insignificant words. "Go to bed early."

Yanis was stunned, then nodded and closed the door.

Yanis didn't stop. She turned around and walked straight into the studio.

Zane's car was parked outside The Sunrise Wedding Planner for about ten minutes before it pulled

away.

Yanis stood by the second-floor window for half an hour before she came back to her senses. Then she

grabbed her clothes and walked into the shower.

By the time she turned around, Myles's car was just parked downstairs.

"Myles, how much money did Zane give you and bribe you to be a lobbyist?"

Bonnie, sitting in the passenger seat, looked down at Myles. "You told me not to worry about their

relationship. What do you mean by that?"

Myles unbuckled his seat belt and turned to Bonnie. "Bonnie, I'm just saying don't say anything bad

about Zane in front of Yanis. Everyone had their problems at some point, right?"

"What could he possibly have? Yanis had lost a lot in her life for the past five years. Do you want Yanis

to give him her life?"

Myles sighed, then gave up talking. He reached over to rub Bonnie's head.

"Come on, we don't have to fight every time we talk about this. I don't want to fight with you about other

people's business."

Bonnie muttered, "who wants to fight with you?"

Bonnie unbuckled her seat belt, opened the door and got out of the car.

Myles watched Bonnie get out of the car, and hesitated for a few seconds, then got out as well.

"Bonnie."

Myles called her in a low voice.

Bonnie slammed the door and looked at him. "What's wrong?"

Myles walked up to Bonnie, looked at her for a few seconds, and suddenly pulled her into his arms.

"Does it still count about what you said last time?"

Bonnie tried to push him away, but he hugged her even tighter. "I said, 'When you get Neve out of my

face, I'll promise you,'" she said, "instead, Neve just keeps showing up."

"So?"

"Nothing."

When Myles heard Bonnie's words, he stiffened his arms around her as if he had no choice and

whispered, "Bonnie, aren't you afraid I'm going to get tired and give up?"

This time, Bonnie raised her arms and pushed him away. "I'm glad you will."

Myles stared at Bonnie for a moment, narrowing his eyes. "Bonnie, you..."Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Myles swallowed his words back and rubbed her head. "Okay, I'm not good enough. I'll try harder."

Bonnie gave him a look. "Go home. Drive carefully."

After that, Bonnie turned around and headed upstairs.

Myles stood there for a moment. He watched Bonnie disappear before returning to his car, then he left.

Myles called Zane as soon as he pulled out of The Sunrise Wedding Planner.

His tone was defiant. "Where are you?"

Zane was driving aimlessly down the road at a constant speed. "What's up?"

"Does Mr. Lawrence have such a short memory? Have you forgotten what you said?"

Zane held the wheel with one hand. "I'll ask Albi to contact you."

Zane hung up the phone.

Myles looked at the phone, muttered an expletive, and dropped the phone on the passenger's seat.

Shortly after, Albi called. "Master Myles, your stuff is there. I'll send someone over to take it."

Myles gave Albi the address directly. "I'll be there in half an hour."

Albi responded, "ok."

...

Due to the unexpected accident, there were only three days left before the manuscript was due.

Yanis woke up, went straight to Bonnie's studio, and started drawing pictures.

"Yanis, what are you doing so early?"

Bonnie yawned as she walked into the studio. "You got an idea?"

Yanis replied, "I just got one."

"Then I'll leave you to it and get something to eat."

Yanis didn't really have much inspiration, but she could almost sketch it.

Yanis just didn't like what she was sketching.

After watching Yanis tear it several times, Bonnie poured a glass of water and handed it to Yanis. "Not

satisfied?"

Yanis groaned wearily as she leaned back in her chair and reached over to take the glass from Bonnie.

"Not as good as I expected."

"Isn't that three days away? Why don't you clear your mind a little?" Bonnie looked at her.

Yanis took two sips of water and whispered, "you don't have cases these days?"

"Yes, but it's not urgent. I've finished everything before."

Bonnie leaned over the table. "Yanis, Travis just called and said he wanted us to come home for dinner

tonight."

Yanis looked up at Bonnie. "Did you tell him I was with you?"

"Travis wasn't stupid. He just busted me. I've been living in the studio for so long. Didn't he know?"

Yanis bit her lower lip. "I won't go. I'll see the teacher in a couple of days."

"No, I don't want to go back alone, or Travis will give me a lecture."

"Don't use me as a bad example," Yanis told Bonnie. "Zane is Zane, Myles is Myles, they are not on

the same page. Besides, Myles is treating you like a princess. What else do you want?"

Bonnie wilted as soon as she heard it. "You know everything about me."

Yanis put her glass of water on the table. "Seriously, you're not going to let Myles get the girl?"

Bonnie listened to Yanis and sighed, "I know he's nice to me, but I still can't let it go."

Yanis was about to say something but she didn't know how to say it when she thought about what

happened to Bonnie.

One never knew how painful it could be until it happened to you.

And there was no empathy in this world.

Yanis had no words of comfort for a moment. She moved her chair and reached out to hug Bonnie.

"Bonnie, you have to separate them. They're individual people. They're not related to each other."

Bonnie raised her hand to stroke Yanis's hair. "But I still feel odd. Every time I try to get along with him,

I think about those things, and I can't talk to him. I want to yell at him."

Yanis didn't say how much she knew about Bonnie's feelings. If she put herself in Bonnie's shoes,

being through what happened to her, she probably wouldn't be able to do what she did.

She might not even want to hang out with the people she's associated with, let alone be with them.

In fact, Yanis thought Bonnie was good enough the way she was.

It was just that there were things that they couldn't control...
