You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 425

Chapter 425

Hearing what Jasper said, Amelia's hand, which was holding the phone, trembled. The corners of her

mouth twitched and she asked rather unwillingly, "Jasper, what do you mean by this?"

"Auntie, take my words literally. Don't act like you don't understand. Things are the way they are and

you've seen it too. Valerie's going to be imprisoned and her sentence will probably be more than a

decade long. You can't expect me to wait for more than ten years to marry her, do you?"

Jasper's words were very clear- cut and realistic.

He was very angry when he learned that he had been cheated by Valerie. He had also gone to a

lawyer at A City to consult on Valerie's current situation and whether she would go to jail.

Because the lawyer was from A City, he told Jasper very clearly that as long as Skylar didn't want to go

easy on Valerie, she would definitely be sentenced and her imprisonment would be more than ten

years.

Upon hearing this, Jasper described the situation to Houston and Amenda.

Amenda had already disagreed with Jasper marrying a disabled person to begin with. Now that she

heard him describe Valerie's situation and his decision, she absolutely agreed with him.

"Jasper, don't you like Valerie? Valerie was framed. Skylar deliberately wanted to frame her. You know

that Valerie and Skylar used to be a couple. I don't know what happened to them, but they broke up.

Skylar hated Valerie, so he's taking revenge on her!"

Amelia could only make a bet.

However, Jasper had a better understanding of the circumstances. When he heard Amelia's words, he

could not help but laugh and say, "Auntie, you have the same ability as Valerie. You both turn facts

upside down."

"Jasper, I'm not lying to you."

"Auntie, Valerie told me about the relationship between her and Skylar. He fell in love with Coralie. At

that time, I thought Skylar was blind, but now it seems like I'm not good at reading people."

After Jasper finished speaking, he hung up the phone.

His and Valerie's marriage agreement was practically over, so Amelia had nothing else to say.

After he hung up the call, Amelia knew that she could not depend on the Zac family anymore.

She did not expect Jasper's attitude to change that quickly!

Amelia had relied on the Zac family as her last hope, but even that had vanished. She no longer knew

what she could do. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Valerie was deemed the suspect. Originally, she had two months of investigation time, but because the

police had installed a recording device in the car, along with the recording and the testimony of the two

kidnappers, Valerie's crime was confirmed.

As a result, the investigation period ended ahead of schedule and she was directly sent to the

Supervisor's Department for the court trial a month later.

After confirming the time of the trial, Amelia began to look around for a good lawyer.

Amelia asked many people. Everyone said that the Kleinbery Law Firm had a lawyer named Marcellus

Klein who could be said to be the best lawyer in A City.

When Amelia took a taxi to Kleinbery Law Firm, she saw the uniquely designed four-storey law firm,

and became even more convinced of Marcellus's ability.

Amelia prepared a bank card and a cheque, and entered the office.

"Hello, how may I help you?"

As soon as she entered, the receptionist greeted her warmly.

Amelia glanced at the front desk from the corner of her eyes. She saw a redhead who was wearing a

uniform in front of her.

She couldn't help but feel a sense of repulsion but she remembered her objective for being at the

office, so she said in a friendly tone, "I'm looking for Mr. Klein."

The receptionist was very knowledgeable. When she saw Amelia's expression, she knew immediately

what Amelia thought of her. However, she was not angry. She just sat back in her seat and said with a

smile, "Mr. Klein is talking to a customer inside. Please wait for a moment."

"Alright."

Amelia sat down.

However, the receptionist merely watched her take a seat and didn't even pour a glass of water for her.

If it wasn't for Valerie's situation, Amelia would have left long ago. However, since she needed the help,

she had to accept it no matter how dissatisfied she was with her situation.

Amelia sat there for an hour and the door to Marcellus's office was closed the whole time, which made

her feel somewhat dissatisfied. She turned around and asked the receptionist, "Usually how long does

a client take to consult with Mr. Klein?"

"It's always different," answered the front desk receptionist, who glanced at her as she was sorting out

some documents. "But the person inside is Mr. Klein's biggest client. If you're not willing to wait, we

have other lawyers. Would you like me to introduce them to you?"

"No, I want only him."

Amelia shook her head and answered firmly.

If she wanted to engage in a lawsuit with Skylar Holland, she had to find the best lawyer.

The receptionist looked at Amelia who was sitting there. After thinking for a while, she stood up and

poured her a cup of warm water. Then she asked, "What lawsuit would you like Mr. Klein to help you

with?"

"This..." Amelia felt that she could not bring herself to speak of what Valerie had done, so she

answered, "There are some family matters."

"Oh, if you're looking to compete with a mistress over your family's wealth, I'm afraid it's too small a

matter for Mr. Klein. You can engage other lawyers in our firm."

The receptionist saw that Amelia was wearing high-end goods and it was obvious that she was a lady

from a wealthy family. That was the first guess that came to her mind.

Furthermore, there were also many people who came to deal with this kind of lawsuit, so she was not

surprised.

"No, I'm not."

Amelia shook her head.

Seeing that Amelia was unwilling to say anything, the receptionist did not ask further.

Amelia waited for about an hour more.

Finally, Marcellus's office door came slightly ajar. When the door opened a little, Amelia saw two men

shaking hands inside and the sound of a man's voice could be heard.

"President Holland, don't worry about this."

Amelia's heart skipped a beat when she heard the name 'President Holland'.

However, soon after, she felt hopeless.

As soon as the office door opened, Amelia saw the man who walked out of the office in a black suit. It

was Skylar Holland!

Skylar also saw Amelia. He merely glanced at her with his dark eyes and went downstairs without

saying a word.

"Goodbye, President Holland!"

When the receptionist saw Skylar come out, she immediately greeted him enthusiastically.

Skylar did not bother with Amelia. Naturally, he did not bother with the receptionist at all. However, she

did not seem angry about it. Instead, she held her face in her hands and muttered to herself in a daze,

"How could there be such a handsome man in the world?"

"This is..."

Marcellus looked at Amelia and asked.

Only then did the receptionist come to her senses after fawning over Skylar's handsome looks. She

turned around and explained, "Mr. Klein, this lady is looking for you."

"Okay, please come in."

Marcellus held his office door open and invited Amelia in.

Amelia thanked him and went in. After she entered and sat on the sofa that Skylar had just sat on, she

asked without waiting for Marcellus to speak, "Why was President Holland here just now?"

"I'm sorry. Our client's information is confidential."

Marcellus answered Amelia's question directly.

"Well, this is what happened..."

Amelia clearly knew that Skylar was probably there over the same case, but she still refused to give up

and told Mr. Klein about Valerie's case.
