Chapter 409
Chapter 409
Although Coralie was angry, she could not lose her temper in front of Lillian. She could only force a
smile. "It's okay."
"Auntie Ford, you always say that Miss Chariott is a bad person but look at how nice she is! She is not
even angry although you were late for more than an hour. Don't make things hard for her."
After Valerie heard Coralie's words, she immediately took Lillian's hand and 'sincerely' said.
When Lillian heard this, she glanced at Valerie with a sad expression. She turned to Coralie, "Alas,
Coralie, you and Skylar kept slandering Valerie behind her back, but she is speaking for you now. You
are really different from her."
Coralie heard Lillian's words and was extremely disgusted. The anger she mustered from having to
wait for two hours had exploded.
She did not care about anything else. At worst, they would not get married. So what?
"Auntie Ford, don't say that. I am to blame for the engagement party."
As she spoke, Valerie lowered her head shyly.
Coralie watched as the two of them put up a show in front of her. She could not help but tighten her grip
on the orange juice glass. She faked a smile, "Yes, it's a pity that your son likes me."
It was obvious she said so because she was really enraged.
When Valerie heard Coralie, her smile became more radiant, as if everything was under her control.
"Miss Chariott, it's normal for a man to be blinded for one or two years, but they won't be blind for a
lifetime."
"That's not necessarily true. Auntie Ford was blinded for ten or twenty years and yet she is still blind
now."
Coralie had decided to voice out her frustration.
Lillian was immediately angry after she heard what Coralie said. "Coralie, what do you mean?"
"Auntie Ford, we have let you hear the recording and yet you still choose not to believe, or maybe you
don't want to believe it at all. Well, I can't do anything about it."
Coralie said blandly.
She had got over it. Why must she receive the blessings of Skylar's parents? If she had to go through
such grievances to receive their blessings, then she would rather not accept it!
"Auntie Ford, don't be angry." When Valerie heard that Lilian still trusted her despite hearing the
recordings, she became more confident. "Look, now you have exposed Miss Chariott's hypocritical
face. Skylar will be here soon. She won't be able to pretend for long."
"Valerie, you're right. It's a pity that you can't be my daughter-in-law! My ultimate dream is for you to be
my daughter-in-law."
Lillian held Valerie's hand, and as she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes!
"Auntie, Jasper treats me very well. Furthermore, my parents have asked me to marry him. You know
very well that I must obey my parents. I have no right to refuse."
Valerie's tears did not well up. Instead, they fell straight down.
Seeing this scene, Coralie quickly stood up. "Take your time to cherish each other. I'll leave first."
In fact, Coralie wanted to say, "Auntie Ford, why don't you have another son and ask him to marry Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Valerie?" But she swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue.
"Coralie! You! You brat!"
As Coralie walked out, she heard Lillian's choking voice behind her. Worried, she quickly turned back to
the cafe to check on Lillian.
If something bad happened to her, Coralie would have a hard time facing Skylar.
However, the moment Coralie turned her head, she saw that Lillian stood up with unstable feet. Valerie
merely stood still next to her.
Coralie rushed over and held Lillian. Then, she glared at Valerie, "Why aren't you helping her?'¹
"I... I wanted to help her, but you were faster!"
Valeria seemed to panic while looking at Coralie. Seeing her expression, Coralie felt that it was a little
familiar...
She searched her mind and suddenly realized that a few years ago, when the car accident happened,
Valerie had the same expression on her face!
However, at that moment, Coralie could not bother about that. The waiter quickly ran over and served
Lillian a glass of lemon water.
"Auntie Ford, don’t rush. Breathe slowly. Don't rush."
Coralie slowly patted her chest, letting Lillian catch her breath.
Lillian panted for a long time before she recovered. Then she said fiercely, "Coralie, don't be
hypocritical. You just want me to die!"
"I want you dead? It was me who supported you just now and it was me who helped you. In the end,
you think that it was me who wanted you dead? Why didn't you say that she wanted you dead?"
Coralie huffed and pointed to Valerie next to her!
"No..." Valerie was even more flustered. She stood there mumbling, as if she wanted to say something
but hesitated. After a long while, she stuttered, "Auntie Ford, I, I have prepared heart medicine for you
in the car. I'll go get it for you."
As Valerie spoke, she grasped her bag and went out.
"Why are you carrying your bag?"
Coralie asked immediately when she saw Valerie walking out with her bag.
However, at this time, Valerie had already rushed out of the small cafe with her bag. Looking at her
flustered back, Coralie realized that something was fishy.
Before she could chase after her, a van suddenly stopped in front of the door. Four people got down,
and one of them was holding a gun in his hand, aiming it at Lillian and Coralie's head.
At this critical moment, the waiter squatted behind the bar counter, therefore the four men did not see
her.
All four of them wore black hoods and one of them yelled, "Which one of you is Lillian Ford?"
"It's her!"
Lillian suddenly pointed at Coralie.
Coralie was taken aback. She had grasped the current situation, but as Lillian pointed at her, it seemed
inappropriate for her to expose Lillian.
When she was in a dilemma, the group leader suddenly walked towards Lillian, pointed the gun at her
head, and shouted. "Don't play tricks! We are looking for the mother of Skyton Corporation's president.
Do you think she can have an adult son?"
As the man spoke, he dragged Lilian away!
"Don't! Don't! Don't take me! Don't take me!"
Lillian panicked when the two men in black hauled her away.
Two other men stayed behind and looked at Coralie. Seeing the curve of her breasts, one of them
immediately said, "Brother, why don't we take this one with us as well and have a good time with her?
How about that?"
The other guy immediately laughed, "Sure! Hahaha!"
Coralie wanted to flee but she was caught by two men. They dragged her into the van and forced her
into a large sack.
The experience reminded Coralie of her past. Her
mind was in a mess. The last time, her abductors were forced to do so, but they still had a conscience.
Now, these four men were obviously vicious gangsters and they would never have mercy!
"Hey, this is a great harvest!"
"Yeah! Not only will we receive our money, we can also satisfy our hunger." The man let out a string of
monstrous laughter.
Coralie was rolled around in the sack. She listened to the kidnapper's conversation and had mixed
feelings.
She absolutely would not allow herself to be humiliated!
