You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 404

Chapter 404

"Harvey."

Before Coralie could recognize the person in front, Skylar, standing next to her, had spoken.

The four people in front turned around at the same time.

Only then did Coralie realize that the ones standing in front of them were Harvey, his parents and the

limping woman in the long dress was actually Xenia!

"Skylar! Are the both of you here for dinner?"

When Harvey saw Skylar, he looked delightfully surprised.

It was as if the depressed atmosphere between the four of them was finally mediated.

"Yes. Hello, Uncle Harvey and Aunt Bailey."

Skylar nodded. He and Harvey had known each other since young, thus he naturally knew Harvey's

parents' names. That was why he called Harvey's mother Aunt Bailey.

"Skylar, is this your wife? I met her a few days ago. She was charismatic with a good personality. You

really have good judgment."

Harvey's mother's full name was Laura Bailey. As she praised Coralie, it was obvious that she had an

underlying meaning; she was praising one while criticizing the other.

Naturally, Coralie was complimented but Xenia was criticized.

"Aunt Bailey, you are flattering me."

Coralie knew, but she could not say anything at that moment.

"Co... Coralie, I haven't seen you for such a long while."

Xenia understood Laura's hidden meaning, but she was too lazy to bother about it.

When she saw Coralie, she instinctively followed her habit and wanted to greet her excitedly. However,

when she opened her mouth, she saw Laura throwing her a strange look. Then, she quickly lowered

her voice and said politely, "It's been a long time."

Seeing Xenia's behavior, Coralie knew that she was being pressured by Laura.

"Are the six of you together?"

At this moment, the waiter came over.

"No, we have booked Room 206."

Skylar parted his lips first.

After he spoke, Harvey's father immediately offered. "Since we bumped into each other today, why

don't we have a meal together?"

"That's right, that's right!"

Xenia nodded desperately! She winked at Coralie repeatedly, gesturing for her to agree.

Standing by the side, Harvey also said, "Yeah, let's eat together."

In fact, Harvey and Xenia really wanted Skylar and

Coralie to join them.

After all, Laura was biased against Xenia. If Skylar and Coralie mediated between them, it would be

great.

However, Skylar immediately refused. "Sorry, today is our anniversary. Let's have a meal together

some other day."

Hearing the man's words, Coralie felt warm in her heart.

"I see..."

When Xenia heard him, she fell into despair.

"Since President Holland has said so, we will not disturb the two of you."

Looking at Xenia, Laura's face showed a hint of displeasure. She was afraid that Xenia would do

something embarrassing, therefore she quickly said goodbye to Skylar and Coralie.

When the couple was led to their private room by the waiter, Coralie felt a little guilty. "Skylar, is it bad

that we are not helping Harvey and Xenia?"

"If we can solve our own problems, why can't they solve their own?"

Skylar shrugged.

Even though he did not know the details, he could see the conflict between Xenia and Harvey's

parents.

"With Xenia's personality, if she was to hold it in any longer, I'm afraid that she will explode..."

Coralie was worried about Xenia.

With her character, she would be fine to pretend a while for love. However, as time passes by, she

would definitely resist the oppression.

"That is her own business. We can only help them for a while," Skylar said. He placed the menu in front

of Coralie. "Let's solve our own problems first. What do you want to eat?"

"Knock! Knock! Knock!"

Coralie was reading the menu when someone suddenly knocked on their door.

Before the waiter could get to the door, the person from outside had pushed the door open. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

It was Xenia.

"Xenia?" Coralie was surprised.

"Coralie, can we exchange our shoes? My feet are breaking."

Xenia walked in with tears in her eyes.

As soon as she came in, the first thing she did was to fling off the pair of beautiful high heels from her

feet.

"Exchange our shoes?" Coralie asked puzzledly.

"Yes, I saw that you are wearing flat shoes. Please exchange them with me. I can walk normally in your

shoes. Do you know how much pain my feet are in right now? This is not walking; it's torture!"

As Xenia spoke, she walked to Coralie's side and put the pair of beautiful high heels beside her feet.

Coralie lowered her head and glanced at the high-heels beside her feet. They were really beautiful,

with shining sequins and a small pointed head. She would look like a goddess if she was to put them

on.

"But if you wore flat shoes, will Laura..."

"I cannot be bothered anymore. If I can walk normally, I guess she won't say anything further."

Hearing Xenia's words, Coralie knew that her limit was approaching. However, seeing that Xenia was

in so much pain, she could only take off her shoes for Xenia to wear.

Xenia and Coralie's feet were the same size. Both were size 37, thus they could easily exchange their

shoes.

When Xenia put on Coralie's shoes, she sighed in satisfaction. "Although it's not as good as sneakers,

it is heaven compared with these heels."

"My shoes are such a different style from yours. Are you sure you want to exchange them?"

Trying on Xenia's heels, Coralie immediately felt like a goddess.

"Yes, I'm sure! You can have them. Don't return them to me. Don't let them appear in front of me

again!”

After that, Xenia ran back to her room.

Coralie wore the heels, stood up, and tried to walk in them for a while. Only then did she understand

Xenia's pain.

After putting on the heels for barely two minutes, the soles of her feet began to hurt, and because the

front of the shoes was relatively low, it was applying pressure on the back of her feet.

She completely understood why Xenia said that this was torture and she sat down immediately.

Xenia sprinted back to their room in flat shoes. When she pushed the door open, Laura immediately

noticed that she had changed her shoes.

This was because she looked much shorter.

"Why did you change into flat shoes?"

Laura immediately recognized that the pair of shoes on Xenia's feet were Coralie's.

"My feet hurt too much. I can't even walk properly."

Xenia explained to Laura with a sullen face.

"High- heels represent a woman's elegance. No matter what, you must wear them. It is not appropriate

to wear flat shoes in public."

Although Laura's voice was soft, she was extremely disgusted with Xenia's behavior.

Especially when she changed them in the middle of a meal!

"Morn, Xenia doesn't really wear high heels. Please don't make it hard for her. I like her no matter what

she wears."

Harvey knew Xenia's temper best. She was a hot-tempered and straightforward woman.

But yet she wore a dress and high heels for him. The burning rage in her heart was probably going to

erupt.

"She doesn't wear high heels? How can this be? If she loves you, a small change wouldn't matter

much." "Morn, your dressing habits might not apply to others. I like how Xenia usually looks."

Harvey knew that his mother had been wearing long dresses and high heels all her life.

In her opinion, everything should be proper.

However, Xenia did not share the same beliefs as Laura.

"Auntie, you can also see that I don't normally wear long dresses and high-heels. I can't walk or

breathe in them. If your daughter-in-law must fulfill these requirements, I'm afraid that I am not

suitable."

Xenia put down her fork and got straight to the point.
