Chapter 366
Chapter 366
Skylar stood there, his hands tightly gripping his pants. He was exerting a great deal of strength.
Coralie looked at the veins on the back of his hands. For a moment, she forgot that she was wearing
the clothes of the photo studio.
She opened her arms to hug Skylar, patting his back gently with her hand, and said, "May the pain
disappear."
Coralie remembered that back when she was still a kid, whenever she fell down, her mother would hold
her and say this.
When her mother said those words, she really felt that it wasn't that painful anymore.
She hoped that it would be effective for Skylar as well.
However, that was not the case.
The clothes on Coralie were bare- shouldered, and Skylar was leaning against her neck. His sweat
dripped down from his forehead to Coralie's shoulder.
"It'll be alright soon. Don't be scared, Skylar."
Coralie held Skylar in her arms and kept comforting him.
Coralie had no idea what else she could do apart from comforting him.
The shop assistants who didn't know what was going on inside and they all stood nervously outside.
They asked kindly, "Do you need any help?"
"No, it's alright. We'll be done soon."
Coralie hurriedly replied.
She was afraid that the clerk would suddenly come in and see Skylar in his current state.
The shop assistants exchanged glances, wondering if the same incident that happened in another
store all those years ago was repeating itself.
Finally, Skylar's leg was no longer hurting, but he was still holding on to Coralie. He murmured, "My
dear wife, if I had known that holding you would allow me to endure this much pain, I would have asked
you to come to E country."
Skylar had lived in pain for such a long time when he was there.
During that period of time, Skylar was almost on the brink of despair. The amount of pain he had to
endure on a daily basis made him lose the hope of living on.
"I told you that I would accompany you." Coralie patted Skylar's back. "Are you alright now?"
"Yes."
Skylar stood up slowly.
Coralie also stood up. When she looked into the mirror in the locker room, she realized that the
wedding dress on her body was not only wrinkled, but it also had a large patch of sweat on it.
"What... What should we do?" She asked worriedly.
Coralie looked at the beautiful dress that had been ruined.
She suddenly remembered the manager's words. It was because of its high price that no one had
rented it until now...
"It's okay, well buy it."
Skylar knew what she was worried about, so he put his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
Most of his clothes had been drenched in sweat as well.
When Skylar and Coralie went out, the assistants didn't dare ask what had happened. However, when
they saw the state of Coralie's wedding dress, they looked at Skylar nervously, "Mr. Holland, the
wedding dress..."
"Well take it."
The shop assistants immediately heaved a huge sigh of relief upon hearing Skylar's reply.
Otherwise, even the manager wouldn't be able to explain why the new wedding dress was in such a
state.
Coralie picked a few more sets of wedding dresses that she planned to wear on the following day.
When they arrived home, Skylar took a bath and changed into a new set of clothes. When he came
down, he saw Coralie staring at her phone in a daze.
"What's wrong?"
Skylar had already guessed that Coralie was worried about Hendric when he saw that she looked
dazed.
As expected, Coralie looked up at Skylar and said with worry in her eyes, "Skylar, let's go check up on
Hendric."
"No. If we go now, then all of it would've been in vain." Skylar shook his head.
"What do you mean?" Coralie asked curiously.
"You'll understand when you're done with your photoshoot tomorrow," came the reply.
Skylar had a hint of a smile in his eyes as he spoke.
The next day, Skylar didn't face any pain in his legs while they were taking the photos.
After the photoshoot, Coralie and Skylar changed back into their own clothes and went out. It was
already dark outside when they were done.
"Let's go and pick Hendric up."
As soon as Coralie came out, she quickly told Skylar.
Over the past two days, she had been extremely worried. At the thought of Hendric being with Lillian,
Coralie felt very anxious.
Skylar instructed the chauffeur to head to the Holland family's house.
During the journey, Coralie gently rubbed Skylar's legs with her hand and asked him, "Will it hurt when
we're back home?"
"I don't know."
Skylar wasn't so sure himself.
The pain was not consistent. Sometimes it wouldn't hurt for an entire day, and sometimes it hurt twice a
day.
"Well, let's go to pick Hendric up and leave," Coralie suggested.
"Alright."
Skylar nodded.
The car arrived at the Holland family's house.
Coralie got out of the car and ran to the door. She felt a little worried as she stood by the door, and all Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
she could hear was dead silence.
When she opened the door, she realized that there was only one servant in the kitchen.
"Hendric?"
Coralie shouted at the door.
When the servant saw Carolie, she quickly came over and said, "Miss Chariott, Madam Ford took
Hendric out."
"She took him out?" Coralie repeated.
"Yes." The servant nodded.
"Where did they go?" Coralie pressed on.
Coralie felt that something bad was about to happen after hearing the servant's words.
"They went to Mrs. Andrews' house. They should be back soon."
The servant appeared to be nonchalant as she replied.
"What’s wrong?"
Skylar got out of the car and asked as he approached.
Coralie told Skylar about Lillian bringing Hendric to someone else's house. Skylar said, "I know where
her house is. Let's go, I'll take you there."
There were only two houses between Mrs. Andrews' home and the Holland family's house.
Coralie and Skylar stood at the door of Mrs. Andrews' house and knocked on it for a long time. No one
answered the door, so they had to open it themselves.
The Holland family's house was in a high- end neighborhood, so everyone wasn't worried about not
locking their doors during the day.
When Coralie and Skylar opened the door, they immediately heard the sound of women's laughter.
When Coralie entered the living room, she saw that there was a square chess table and several
women were sitting around it and having fun.
One of them was none other than Lillian.
Coralie looked around and saw no signs of Hendric. She immediately went to Lillian and asked, "Where
is Hendric?"
Lillian noticed that Coralie had come in. She asked impatiently, "Who do you think you're talking to?
Speak to me with respect."
She was acting arrogantly but when she looked up, she saw Skylar standing behind Coralie.
Skylar also came over, looked down at Lillian, and asked unhappily, "Mom, where is Hendric?"
"Oh, Hendric..."
Lillian seemed to be confused by his question, and she couldn't remember where Hendric was.
Upon seeing that, Coralie was furious.
"Where is Hendric?"
She repeated her question.
One of the ladies beside her reminded, "Didn't your grandson cry all the time? We put him in the
washing machine. Don't you remember?"
Lillian patted her forehead and suddenly remembered. "He's in the washing machine," she said.
"What?"
Coralie was taken aback when she heard Lilian's reply.
In the washing machine?
What was she even thinking?
