Chapter 358
Chapter 358
Hendric sat on the swing with his head drooped. He was upset.
When he looked up and saw Coralie running all the way from the distance, his frown immediately broke
and he smiled, revealing a row of teeth.
"Mom!¹¹ He shouted.
Hendric strode over to Coralie and jumped into her arms. He wrapped his arms around her neck,
expressing his longing for her. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Hendric, I'm sorry that I'm late."
Coralie apologized to Hendric immediately.
As for why she was late, Coralie knew that there was no need to tell any of that to a child.
"It doesn't matter."
Hendric shook his head obediently.
When Coralie went out with Hendric in her arms, the servant stood at the gate and said, "Miss Chariott,
please do get in the car."
Coralie looked at the first car parked not too far away and shook her head decisively. "Go and inform
Aunt Ford that I will be taking Hendric back to my house."
Although she addressed Lillian as Aunt Ford, her tone was not friendly at all.
Coralie said that and then took the taxi waiting next to her and left. When she got in the car, only then
did she keep away the card used to pick Hendric up.
The servant was merely a servant, and had no right to stop Coralie at all. She watched as Coralie took
her leave, then only called to tell Lillian.
Lillian was playing chess with her friends and could not hear the sound of the phone at all.
"Mom, don't we need to go to Grandma's place?"
Seeing that Coralie took him away, Hendric asked her with joy in his eyes.
"Well, we won't go." Coralie touched Hendric's head and asked him, "How is this kindergarten? What
have you done in there? Did you get along well with children?"
Although Coralie didn't want to send Hendric to this kindergarten, she still had to respect his opinion.
If the most expensive private kindergarten in the city was really better than the normal one, she would
also support Hendric to go there.
"The teachers give lessons in a different language. The other children and I don't really understand."
After thinking for a while, Hendric told the truth.
Most of the teachers in this kindergarten were from foreign countries. They held foreign certificates,
hence, they couldn't speak the national language very well.
"Have you told the teacher?" Coralie asked.
"Teacher doesn't seem to understand what we are talking about," he replied.
Coralie felt a little speechless when she heard Hendric's answer.
Even though it was important to teach children multiple languages, if the most basic communication
wasn't present, the children couldn't understand anything at all. The school had deliberately chosen
foreign teachers, leading to there being zero communication between the teachers and children.
"Okay, I got it. Tomorrow, I'll help you apply to stop attending this kindergarten."
"Really?" Hearing Coralie's words, Hendric's eyes lit up. He looked at her with his head tilted and
asked, "Can I go to a kindergarten that allows me to see you every day?"
"Of course it's possible," she promised.
Although Coralie may have made promises to Hendric, she still felt a little guilty. However, she had
thought it through. Lillian didn't even have any awareness as a grandmother. She couldn't just let Lillian
have her way.
Coralie took Hendric home. As soon as they had dinner, Lillian called.
"Coralie, what exactly are you trying to do? You've taken away the card used to pick Hendric up and
even took him away. Are you trying to rebel?" She accused.
"Aunt Ford, I'm sorry. I have decided not to send Hendric there," Coralie replied.
"Not send him there? Who gave you the right to decide not to send him there anymore? That's the best
kindergarten in A City!" Lillian exclaimed.
At this time, Lillian was done playing chess. When she went home, she found that Hendric was not
there. Only when she asked the servants did she get to know that Coralie had taken Hendric away.
"Hearing what Hendric said, they're all foreign teachers. He doesn't understand them at all."
Coralie told Lillian about what Hendric said.
However, Lilian felt that it was no big deal at all. "If you don't understand, then you should learn.
Whoever in this world was born with the natural ability to understand language? Nowadays, every child
knows foreign languages. Even my friends' grandsons can speak a foreign language fluently. How
could my own grandson lose to them?"
When she heard Lillian treating Hendric as a tool to be compared with someone else's grandson,
Coralie was very angry. Finally, she had enough and said, "If you need a tool that can be used for
comparison, please use yourself. When you can speak a foreign language fluently, I believe that your
friends will envy you more."
Hendric had grown up with Coralie. He did not grow up in a good environment, and when Coralie had
worked in a factory, he laid beside her everyday, not being able to enjoy good food or wear good
clothes.
Later on, he fell seriously ill.
Now, Coralie did not have any requirements for Hendric. She only hoped that he could grow up happily.
"What do you mean? I'm already in this state so why should I learn a foreign language? Is it useful for
me to learn it? Isn't it good for him that I asked him to learn? He'll use it when he grows older. It's
embarrassing when others know a foreign language, and he's the only one who doesn't," Lilian
retorted.
Coralie could feel Lilian's close-mindedness through the phone.
"Either way, Hendric doesn't need to go to a school like that. I'll find a kindergarten for him again. If you
want to see him, I can take him to see you, but you have to ensure that we can leave safely," Coralie
said firmly.
"But I've already paid the school!" Lillian exclaimed.
"How much is it? I'll return it to you," Coralie replied.
Coralie had found two million dollars in the letter that Skylar had left her. He had said that it was her
alimony payment, but Coralie had not used it. Upon hearing Lillian's words, Coralie immediately
decided to return the money to Lillian.
"No! Coralie, send Hendric to me tomorrow, and then I'll send him to kindergarten the day after
tomorrow. How can a woman like you teach my grandson well?"
Lillian always threw around the same words. She kept belittling Coralie, as if doing so to Coralie could
bring her a sense of superiority.
Coralie heard Lillian belittle her but because she had heard it one too many times, she was used to it.
After listening to Lillian's words, she calmly answered, "You're right. This is the Holland family's child.
Last time, your bodyguards took care of Hendric and almost tore off his arm. If anything else happens,
I'll tell Skylar when he comes back."
Coralie knew what Lillian was afraid of. Her opponent, Lillian, didn't have any power of intimidation, but
Skylar did.
Sure enough, when Lillian heard Coralie say that she was going to tell Skylar everything, she paused.
After thinking for a while, she said, "Coralie, if you dare speak of any nonsense to my son, don't ever
think about being welcomed into the Holland family!"
"It doesn't matter if I am not welcomed. It's hard to say if there will be a future with Skylar. By then, I
would have brought Hendric abroad, and none of you would be able to find me," Coralie answered.
Coralie was also desperate. She used Skylar and Hendric as bait just so that Lillian would allow
Hendric to stay by her side.
"How dare you! I'll ask someone to take my grandson away tonight!"
Hearing this, Lillian was very angry.
She never thought that she would be threatened by Coralie one day. In her opinion, Coralie had a
meek and soft personality without the ability to fight back.
