You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 160

Chapter 160

"Everywhere, of course. Every corner that the superiors might check!"

Jackson pointed at the weeds around him.

"Are they going to inspect the factory next Monday?"

"Yes!"

"Am I going to clean this place all by myself? What about you?"

Coralie Chariott nearly lost her temper. She wasn't trying to shrug off any work, but Uncle Victor had

just said that the factory had not operated for the longest time, and people in charge would rarely

come.

However, an inspection sprung up just after she reported for work. It was completely unfair.

"Me? I'm the managing chief here. You couldn't possibly count on me to clean this place. could you?"

Jackson then around at the factory. He felt an inexplicable chill brushing past his skin before heading

back to his car, "It's really cold."

It was November.

The temperature was low.

"Jackson, I could only clean up so much in such a short time. I couldn't possibly clean this whole place

up alone before next Monday. I bet even five people wouldn't be able to clean up the whole factory

here." NôvelDrama.Org © content.

Coralie was just stating the truth.

Jackson retorted, "I don't care. If you don't do your work well, you will get fired."

After that, he stepped on the gas and disappeared.

Coralie heaved a long sigh.

She ran to Uncle Victor, who was guarding the factory at the reception area, and told him what

happened just now. Then she asked, "Did the staff get fired in this way all the time?"

After all, she was unfairly asked to clean up the whole factory in a week. Instead of getting fired after

working hard, it would be better to do nothing and wait for her turn to be laid off.

"I don't know. There hasn't been anyone here for a long time."

Uncle Victor shook his head.

Coralie had no choice but to walk around the whole factory alone. It was enormous, perhaps even

larger than the factory in Forest Paper Company.

She thought for a moment. Although she didn't plan to scrub the factory shiny, she still cleaned the

office.

After that, she made a cup of tea and settled comfortably in the office. Then, she looked at her mobile

phone, wondering if she should send a message to Skylar.

At this moment, a notification suddenly popped up on her mobile phone.

"New progress in Skyton Corporation's President's smuggle case."

Coralie clicked on it. The article clearly stated that the corpses found weren't of babies, but of monkeys.

There were also many comments on the matter.

Most of them had guessed that Skylar Holland had been framed.

Coralie breathed a sigh of relief and quickly picked up her mobile phone to call Wayne Holland, hoping

that he would deliver food to Skylar, who was still in the hospital.

After all, Skylar had gotten injured because of her.

......

At this moment, Hector Rae had caught wind of the news.

Valerie Rae was not at work as her injury had yet to heal after hurting herself a few days ago. She

would only commute between the hospital and her home.

Valerie was watching the television when Hector got home.

"Dad, have you seen the news yet?"

She sprung up happily the moment she saw Hector.

After all, her father had called off the engagement because of Skylar's alleged misconduct. Now that

Skylar had been proven to be innocent, Valerie was ecstatic.

"That's enough."

Hector put down his bag and made his way to the study.

However, Valerie was displeased with his answer. She caught up with him, grabbed his hand, and said,

"Dad, please. I still want to get engaged to Skylar. I assure you that there won't be a problem this time."

After all, the pretense of being mentally disturbed came at a high price.

She had to hurt herself just so that Skylar would cast one glance at her. Otherwise, there was nothing

else she could do to pull Skylar's attention away from Coralie.

Even Valerie herself didn't know how long she could sustain on her trick.

"We were all fooled. Skylar is the one behind this matter!"

Hector found out that the alleged accomplice in the smuggling case was very likely to be one of

Skylar's men.

"That's... that's impossible. Why would he do that to himself? What good would it bring to him?"

Valerie was in disbelief.

Hector had also thought about this before, "What would Skylar get out of this?"

This would precipitate an unsightly effect on both the Holland family and Skyton Corporation.

However, now that the corpse was discovered to be fake, Hector seemed to have understood

something. He stood still and looked at his daughter, who was still stuck in her wishful thinking. He was

furious, "He did this just to cancel the engagement."

Valerie was stunned.

"That's impossible. There's no way Skylar would do that."

Hector was about to go to the study, but when he saw the distressed look on his daughter, he had no

choice but to stay and comfort her. She patted her on the shoulder, "Valerie, I'll find a good family for

you to marry into. The Holland family is bad news. I think that the eldest son of the Zac family is not too

bad. I'll introduce you to each other soon."

In Hector's eyes, everything would be fine and dandy as long as Valerie married a man whose family

was at the same level as the Rae's. As for the man, it would be best if Valerie liked him, but it didn't

matter even if she didn't.

After all, her marriage would serve for the expansion of the influence of the Rae family.

"He, he would come to like me. I know it for sure. Look at those boys in the past. Some of them didn't

like me at first, but in the end, they fell for me, didn't they?"

Valerie spoke in a hushed tone, which brought forth an almost sinister meaning.

She had always been in the center of attention ever since she was a child. All the boys adored and

liked her, and she was also willing to play the part of a considerate little princess.

She enjoyed the exhilaration of being surrounded by boys.

And among these boys, Skylar stood out the most.

"Nothing is certain in this world."

Hector would not have said that if he hadn't seen Skylar recently. However, when Skylar came to him

and made his stand clear the last time, the firm look in his eyes surmounted Hector's threats. Valerie

had no place in his heart at all.

"I..."

"Well, you should dress up when the Young Master of the Zac family comes to A City. Maybe, you will

come to like him."

Compared to the Holland family, Hector was hoping that Valerie bond a tie with the Zac family.

The Zac family owned a higher financial strength than the Holland family. Furthermore, they might be

able to help the Rae family in expanding their business in B City.

......

Valerie went to the hospital to visit Skylar after that conversation with Hector. As his injuries were rather

severe, Skylar was asked to stay in the hospital for further observation.

As soon as she entered the ward, she plastered a happy expression on her face, "Skylar, I've seen the

news. That's great, your innocence has been proven."

She wore a shirt with three-quarter sleeves to show the gauze on her arm.

Skylar lowered his head and glanced at the gauze on her arm. The next moment, he turned away to

stare at the tablet in front of him. He replied faintly, "Okay."

He thought that he could finally cut Valerie if their engagement was canceled. However, it seemed as

though Valerie didn't intend to keep any distance from him.

On the contrary, she seemed to have kicked her concern up a notch.

Furthermore, with her psychological disorder baring stubbornly at his face, Skylar was almost at his

wits' end now.

Their families were old friends with links in their businesses. It was almost impossible for Skylar to

ignore Valerie completely.

"Skylar."

At this moment, another person walked in from the door.

Skylar knew who it was without even looking up. He smiled and said to Wayne, "You're here."
