You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 143

Chapter 143

Lillian Ford felt a little distressed when she saw Valerie Rae sitting in a wheelchair. When she recalled

that Coralie Chariott was the one who had caused it, she got even angrier. She couldn't help saying,

"Valerie, you really are selfless. In order to save Coralie... I don't think that you should have helped her.

What does her safety have to do with you?"

Valerie put on a sad look and sighed, "I didn't think much at that time, I could only think of Skylar's

child. But I didn't expect her to lose her balance..."

"Valerie is too kind. She would refuse to listen to my words whenever I say these things to her too."

"I remember that all of Valerie's classmates used to really like her back during schooling days."

Lillian and Amelia sat together and praised Valerie in concert.

In fact, the purpose of Amelia and Valerie's visit was to ask Lillian to set an engagement date.

Once the date was set, they could then start preparing.

When that time comes, even if Skylar was unwilling to, he would have no choice but to oblige.

Valerie was sitting on the side, listening to them.

When it was about time, she picked a bag that they had just brought in and said, "Auntie Ford, I chose

this with my mother. I don't know if it suits your taste, but it's a Cartier bracelet."

As she spoke, she took out a golden bracelet from the exquisite box and handed it to Lillian.

Of course, Lillian knew about the luxury bracelet. It probably cost more than ten thousand dollars!

"Is this really Cartier? Why haven't I seen this one before?"

Lillian only knew about the basic Cartier bracelets.

Valerie said with a smile, "Auntie Ford, this is the first batch for the new arrival."

As she spoke, she put the bracelet on Lillian's round wrist.

Once Lillian learned that it was a new arrival, she immediately showed her elation, "Oh, no wonder this

bracelet is so pretty."

Valerie smiled at her mother. Amelia Harington then said, "You know, I'm worried about the two

children. You see, Valerie is already 25 years old and she will be turning 26 soon. I can't wait for her to

get married and have a family."

"Mom!"

Valerie pretended to be shy and she immediately lowered her eyes to avoid Lillian's gaze.

Amelia patted Valerie's hand and said to Lilian, "Valerie doesn't want to put pressure on Skylar. Getting

married is a good thing. Now that it has been decided, it is just a matter of time. The engagement

should be held as soon as possible."

"You're right!" Lillian nodded. "I adore Valerie. I'm looking forward to her becoming my daughter-in-law."

After all, there were not many girls like Valerie who could cajole her so well.

"I have found an astrologer to search for the best date for their engagement. He said that October 29 is

perfect."

Amelia added quickly.

"October 29?"

Lillian checked her mobile phone and realized that it was October 10. That meant that the engagement

ceremony would be held the week after. Although she wanted to set the date for Skylar, Lilian still

thought it was too rushed.

"In fact, I thought it might be too soon but it is a rare date with such good omen."

Valerie noticed that Lillian was in a dilemma. She said, "Mom, we should let Auntie Ford discuss this

with Skylar first. After all, this matter involves him too. Auntie Ford couldn't possibly decide on his

behalf."

She sounded as though she was standing up for Lillian, but she was subtly hinting that Lillian did not

have the power to decide for Skylar.

"You're right, Amelia. We shall hold the engagement ceremony on October 29 then. I'll talk to my son.

Don't worry about it."

Lillian patted her chest with the bracelet on her hand and said.

Amelia and Valerie were relieved to hear her words.

Amelia then said quickly, "Since the date has been set, I shall go back and prepare for it. We shall

discuss the details later."

"Okay."

In fact, she regretted once she agreed to their wishes. However, she was too embarrassed to go back

on her words.

After Amelia and Valerie left, Lillian did not dare to call Skylar. She only sent a text message to him,

informing him that she had agreed to set the engagement date with the Rae Family on October 29.

At this moment, Skylar was resting at home, but when he saw the message, he nearly threw his mobile

phone away in anger.

......

Compared to Skylar, Coralie had been living in misery. She waited for Skylar to go to the Civil Affairs

Bureau with her to deal with the last formalities of their divorce, but she hoped that the day would come

much much later.

She was like a criminal who was waiting for her death sentence. Time seemed to crawl slowly for her.

Fortunately, on the weekend, since Josephine Lowell's parents knew that Coralie lived in the same

residential area with them, they invited her over to have dinner at their home.

Coralie agreed. She had finished her accountant examination last month and was waiting for her

results.

At the same time, she wanted to distract herself.

At noon, Coralie brought the freshly-bought fruit and milk to Josephine's house. Josephine's mother

had already served lunch at the table while her father was reading newspapers on the sofa.

Josephine chased after her son and brought him to wash his hands.

The family seemed happy and harmonious.

"Hello, Uncle, Auntie."

Coralie entered the house and greeted Josephine's parents politely.

"Coralie, you didn't have to."

Josephine's parents noticed the things in Coralie's hands. In their eyes, Coralie was just like their

daughter.

In fact, when Coralie was in college, she had been to Josephine's house before. However, at that time,

Josephine had not moved here.

Since the food was ready, everyone quickly took their seats at the dining table.

Josephine then put her son in the baby chair and fed him.

"Coralie, when are you going to have a baby?"

Josephine's mother asked when she looked at her grandson. They were curious as Coralie and

Josephine got married at almost the same time.

Josephine said quickly, "Mom, let's not talk about this. You'll ruin the mood."

Coralie smiled awkwardly. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

"Ding-dong."

The doorbell rang.

Josephine was the first to stand up, so she walked to the door and said, "Are we expecting anyone?"

She opened the door as she spoke.

As soon as the door was opened, the person outside stepped in and said, "Dear, it's time to go home."

Everyone was stunned when they all saw who it was. It was Andrew Jordan.
