Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 170

Chapter 170 The Chicken Soup

Oswald quickly made his way to the kitchen. Maia watched him leave before turning to the television and starting to watch “The Quest” as well.

It was just as he said: while both Cedric and Maia were mentors on the show, she paid full attention to the participants and their performances while he was fully focused on her instead.

It was such an intense stare that it made her want to run away even if it was just on television. It took all but one second to fall in love with someone, after all.

Her phone started buzzing non-stop. Notifications kept rolling in. She also received a huge amount of WhatsApp messages.

All of them were about the premiere of “The Quest” and the warring couple, how much Cedric loved Maia, and if they were going to be remarried.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Maia was speechless. She checked Twitter and found that “the warring couple” was the most popular search on it. The netizens had much to say.

“Oh my gosh! What an exceptional love story! | wish | had someone like Cedric in my

life!”

“Please notice him, Maia! Just turn around and look at him!”

“Hi, everyone. It’s me again. | just want to see if they were remarried.”

“Aaah! Why did the warring couple get a divorce? Cedric clearly loves Maia deeply! He’s looking at her so lovingly. Was it Maia who initiated the divorce

“The Larkin family was the one who announced it back when it happened. What gave you the idea Maia kickstarted the whole thing? The way | see it, Maia was hurt deeply and she isn’t going to change her mind!”

Maia read the discourse on the internet. There were over 9000 new comments on her Twitter page, with more coming in each second. Most of them took Cedric’s side. They were eager to see them get back together.

Maia tucked away her phone and focused on the show. It really did seem like Cedric was looking at her every time the camera cut to him. She felt as if it had been deliberately edited to look that way. There was even a crying emoji on the bottom of the screen, as a symbol for

Cedric’s sadness at the time.

“Dinner’s ready, Ms. Maia.” Oswald walked into the living room with a smile. She nodded and headed to the dining hall quickly. There were four dishes and a soup on the table, still warm.

There was no way she could finish all of this. +15 BONUS

“A sandwich or omelet would be enough next time, Oswald.” It was such a waste for him to prepare so much food for just one person.

“No can do, Ms. Maia,” Oswald said. “Mr. Cedric explicitly told us to prepare four dishes and a soup if you slept or woke up late and missed your meals. It’s important to have a balanced diet. Our goal is to ensure you gain weight this year!”

Maia almost spat her food out when she heard what Oswald said.

“You want me to gain weight?”

“That’s right. That's our goal this

year.

Oswald grinned and said, “Next year we have to make sure both you and your future baby gain weight!” Maia was speechless. She was not planning on living here for a whole year, much less two years! “Perhaps you should forget about your goal and go back to watching ‘The Quest’, Oswald!”

“Sure thing. Mr. Cedric gave all of the servants leave so they could go back home and watch the show. It’s being broadcast online on Sunny Videos too!”

Maia was startled. She had just realized that no one except for Oswald was in the villa. She checked the time. It was half past eight o'clock. It was not time for the staff to go off work yet.

“Take a break, Oswald. | can handle things from here.”

“Will do, Ms. Maia. I'll get back to watching the show, then! Just holler when you're done so | can clean up.”

Maia nodded and ate her dinner quietly after Oswald was gone.

She had not seen Cedric since she came downstairs. Was he not in Prismara Hill?

Maia shook her head at once. Why would she think about him? What did it matter where he

was now?

Maia continued eating her dinner. When she was full, she started to clear the table. She washed the dishes after she had wiped the table clean.

Then, Maia put everything back in its place. She was about to leave the kitchen when a familiar pot caught her eye. It was the pot Rita had used for her chicken soup.

“Why did you clean up by yourself, Ms: Maia? You should've called for me when you were done eating. | can’t let you take care of it!” Oswald felt uneasy seeing Maia doing all the work.

“Everyone was supposed to go off work early today. You stayed back just so you could make dinner for me, Oswald. | couldn’t possibly ask you to do more work. Besides, it wasn’t too much trouble cleaning up.

Maia meant what she said. Then, Maia glanced at the pot of chicken soup before Oswald could reply. “Is that the chicken soup Rita prepared?” she asked.

Oswald nodded and said, “That's right. Mr. Cedric asked me to throw it all away, but | thought it'd be a waste. | asked the servants to take some home.”

“There’s still some left,” he continued. “I intended to give the rest to my grandson. It’s not every day that he gets to have a wholesome supper.”

Maia frowned. She took the lid off quickly and stared at the contents of the pot. No one could be sure if soup was even safe. After all, Rita had made it.

Maia was a little suspicious of it. She was worried.

Oswald was puzzled. “Is something wrong, Ms. Maia? | know | went against Mr. Cedric’s orders, but it seemed such a waste to just throw it out.

“My grandson hasn't been healthy ever since he was young. | thought it'd be good to let him. drink it. I’m the only one to be blamed here, Ms Maia.

“It was my idea after all. Everyone else just drank some of it because they didn’t want to waste the soup.”

“| have no qualms with you sharing the soup with everybody, Oswald. It’s just that...”
