Chapter 8: MARTYR WIFE
It's been two weeks since Tranz had the accident. According to Trevor, Tranz's friend, my husband suddenly came to have a drink at a popular bar on the night of our anniversary. It looks like there is a serious problem, but Tranz didn't even tell them.
Tranz was said to be drunk when a woman approached, and if I base the description of Tranz's friend, I can say that he was referring to Lily.
When the woman left, my husband said goodbye to them too, and the rest is history.
I wanted to know what caused the accident, but I couldn't get close to my husband because it seemed like I had a contagious disease. He has avoided me since that day.
The way he treats me right now is way different from before.
We can no longer sleep next to each other because I'm sleeping in the guest room, and my belongings are already there.
Every time I tried to asked him, he'd end up hurting me. And if Leticia hadn't come the other day, my husband would have pushed me down the stairs.
I sighed as I looked at myself in the mirror.
I have a big bruise on my cheek, and my lip still has a scar. These are the signs that my husband is hurting me. I looked up and felt the incurable bruise on my neck.
I get the make-up kit and applied a thick amount of concealer on my face. I even used a dense amount of red lipstick so that my bruises would not be noticed by those who could see me.
Before I left the room, I took the shawl and placed it around my neck. I cooked Menudo for our dinner, so I'm planning to give our neighbor this dish I cooked. I hope she likes it.
I know that our neighbor is a psychiatrist, and based on the rumors I heard, she is also unlucky with having a husband like Tranz.
Why are more and more men treating women just trophies?
I smiled bitterly before I left the house and walked towards Dra's house. Olive Ramirez.
I was about to ring the doorbell when I hesitated. When I was already in front of the house, I had second thoughts. I heard that Dra. Ramirez was strict and intimidating. I'm having a second thought. The thing is, I want to save myself from embarrassment.
It's okay, Mina. You're here already, I said to myself.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
Another deep sigh was released before the doorbell rang.
The smile I practiced almost turned into an awkward smile when I saw the Dra. Olivia's formal face.
Haist...
"How are you, Doctor? I brought something for you." I handed her the dish I had brought.
He stared at me intently before she thanked me. She offered me to come in, but I declined her offer because Tranz would come.
I said goodbye to Dra. Olive before hurrying home.
I was close to our house when I saw a familiar face, wearing black leggings and a sports bra. It was apparent how big her future was, so it was inevitable that passing men would have got a second look at her.
"Mina!" She screamed and ran over to me. She just doesn't seem to care that her bumper is dribbling like a basketball ball. "How are you?"
"I'm okay, thank you. What are you doing here, Lily?"
I wonder what Lily is doing here in this subdivision, flaunting her almost naked perfect body.
"I live here." I avoided stumbling because of her direct speech, even though she speaks in English.
"In this s-subdivision?" I couldn't hide my shock because of her answer.
My eyes grow more expansive, and so the beating of my heart.
The next thing I knew, my hands were shaking because of the tension.
She held my hand before I stumbled. "Are you okay, Mina? Gosh! What's wrong with you? Your face looks pale. Where is your house? Let me help you to get there." Where is my house?
I avoided grinning at her question because I was sure she knew where my husband lived.
I wanted to push her away, but because I thought it would be better for us to be close for me to know what my husband and she were doing, I let her helped me walk to our house. "Thank you. Care for a drink?" I offered her when we get into the house.

Her eyes roamed throughout the house as if analyzing every detail of the interior design.
"I guess it's quiet. Don't tell me; you don't have a helper?"
"Yeah," I agree with her question.
"Your husband is rich, and yet here you are, you don't even have a helper. How come?"
I want to swear and blame her for everything, but I need evidence first because it might just turn the table upside down.
I tried my best to calm myself even though the truth is I want to wring her neck because of the thickness of her face.
How can she ask apparent things that she surely knows to the legal wife of the man she is dating?!
"Juice? Do you want some?" Instead of answering her questions, I offered her something to drink again.
"Just water. I'm on a diet, eh."
Yeah, right. You have to maintain your body for my husband to stay with you!
Fuck!
I glanced at Lily from head to toe.
Beautiful, smooth, and pearly-like skin, and sexy.
What have I compared to this biatch?
I hurriedly walked to the kitchen before I shed tears because of the insecurities I'm feeling.
I composed myself first before taking cold water from the refrigerator and poured it into the glass.
I can't show my weakness to my rival on my husband because she'll just insult me more.
I went back to the living room.
Instead of Lily, it was Leticia I saw staring outside while her arm crossed.
"Lele, what brought you here?" I asked her.
"Is that your friend, Mina?" Instead of answering me, that is what she asked.
"Who?"
"The woman I saw here."
Nope... "Yes," I answered even though that wasn't true.
"Quit making friends with someone like her. I don't like her."
Me, too, Lele. Me, too...
"Geez! I'm not too fond of the likes of her. She looks untrustworthy," she said. "She gives me this freaky feeling." She turned to me and smiled. "How's Tranz?" "He's fine," I answered her shortly.
"Doesn't he have a woman, Mina?"
My brows furrowed because of her question.
"Why? Did you see a woman with him? Where? When? Did you meet her?" I asked her one question after another, so her eyes squinted.
"So, there is a third party? That idiot! I want to report him to daddy!" She took her cell phone, and when she was ready to call her stepfather, I immediately stopped her.
"No, Lele. Y-Your brother doesn't have a woman. We're doing okay. We just had a little misunderstanding when you saw us fighting ..." I immediately explained to her. Say I am a martyr or battered wife. I don't care. I love Tranz, and I don't want to hurt him.
I know he'll go back to his senses soon.
I know he is just bored; that's why he's playing around...
