Chapter 18
GRAY
I am waiting in our usual spot. I’m a little nervous. I have no idea why. We meet every night. Over the week she has been changing her look. I don’t want to say this, but she is turning into the goddess that I thought she would be. At least if she is my mate. I don’t know. I think so. This is torture. I am pacing in my fur waiting for her to come through the trees.
I can hear her coming before I see her. When her body comes through the trees I am stunned. She is wearing her cheer uniform today. I can see legs that she usually covers up. She sees me watching her. She hopefully doesn’t notice the drooling. What I’m in my fur, it happens. She does a little spin for me and I think my heart stopped. “You like it?”
I nod with my tongue hanging out. I have seen other girls in that same uniform but none of them do what she is doing to me. I shake my head trying to clear my thoughts. She cocks her head to the side. “Is that a yes or a no?”
I nod towards the tree, indicating that she should take her seat. She gets me, she sits and I trot around the tree to the other side. It doesn’t take me long to shift and I have a pair of shorts that I left here yesterday. I slip those on. “I like it very much.” I manage to choke out.
“I’m glad.” I can hear the smile in her voice.
“Close your eyes.”
“Why?”
“Please.”
She sighs. “Alright. They are closed.”
Before I take a seat I move around to the other side of the tree. Her eyes are closed, she is sitting there looking a little irritated. I can smell that boy on her skin again. I think I let out a little growl that I honestly tried to suppress. Yes, I know who he is but I don’t really give a shit. He needs to stop touching her. The best way to do that is to touch her myself. “Keep ’em closed.”
I kneel down next to her and run my fingers behind her ear, pulling her face a little more towards me. I study her face. I have never touched her this way before. It’s different. I can tell it’s different for her too. Her breath has sped up. Her heart is beating hard. “You know Trey shouldn’t be touching you if you don’t want him to.” I slide my fingers down her neck.
“Yeah, well, try telling him that.”
I chuckle. “Maybe I will.” I glide my fingers along her side resting my hand on her hip. “Is this alright? I don’t want to do anything that you don’t like.” I whisper leaning closer.
She shakes her head. “It’s fine.” She sounds a little breathless.
“I’m about to do something that I probably shouldn’t.” I brush my lips against hers. I wait for her response. She doesn’t hesitate. Her lips seek mine. The feeling is amazing. Our lips move in tandem. I feel it through my body, she reaches for mine. I pull her a little closer. I have never been more connected with a person in my life. She moves with me, moaning and pleading for more. I don’t want to stop anyway. That is until I hear some branches snap in the distance. Not too far off.All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
I pull away from her. “We are not alone.”
She still has her eyes closed. “Which direction?”
“Mine.” I growl. It better not be my mother. “We have to cut today short. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“It will be later. I have to work, remember.”
I look back down at her. “I remember. You remember this.” I give her a soft kiss. “Maybe get that guy to stop kissing you.”
She smiles. “It’s a deal.”
I run away from her, shifting as I move. I head straight to the noise. When I reach her I want to kill her. Mom, what the hell are you doing? Her small gray wolf is almost trembling next to mine.
You were with her again, weren’t you?
That is none of your business.
I am worried about you. She is going to hurt you.
Right now the only one doing that is you. I growl and snap a little bit. Sometimes I hate the woman that my mom has become. This isn’t even my family’s squabble. She just married that asshole. Maybe that’s why I don’t care about it. Sure I have been raised with that family and am considered a part of it, but I’m not. That blood doesn’t run in my system. This isn’t my fight. Soon I will find out if she is my mate and if she is, you better believe I will take her as my mate. I don’t give a crap about this feud and neither does she.
I take off in a huff. I can’t believe she followed me out here. Not only that but she ruined a completely good kiss. I do have a good thought though. I can see her more this weekend. She just won’t know it’s me.
