Chapter 549
Chapter 549
Caroline felt a rush of joy and excitement.
She glanced at Gilbert, "Did you hear that? She admitted it herself!"
But Gilbert wasn't looking at her. His dark eyes were fixed on Sherilyn.
Through gritted teeth, he growled, "Let's talk inside!"

Sherilyn couldn't help but laugh, "Did you not hear me the first time? Then let me say it again..."
This time, she looked only at him, gazing into the depths of his eyes.
"Listen carefully, the child... it's not yours..."
"Enough! Shut up!"
The man roared in anger, suddenly raising his fist.
Was he going to hit her? Sherilyn instinctively closed her eyes and raised her hands to protect her head!
The punch landed with a 'thud' on the wall behind her!
Sherilyn opened her eyes, confused, to see Gilbert's face right near hers-angry but holding back. His whole body was trembling with rage and restraint.
He didn't look good.
"Sherilyn..."
It seemed the punch had drained all his strength.
Gilbert managed a smile, but his eyes were full of sarcasm, "You... to do this to me, how could you do this to me? Do I deserve this from you?"
He grabbed her wrist, "If you won't stay in the hospital, then come home with me!"
With that, he lifted her up in his arms.
"Gilbert..."
Caroline was left standing there, completely ignored. This would never have happened before.
She clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms, "After being cuckolded, he still can't let her go?" Did he really like her that much?
...
Gilbert carried Sherilyn out of the hospital building and into the car.
Sherilyn clenched her hands, her heart racing.
She hadn't expected things to turn out this way...
She had succeeded in getting pregnant with Jenna's sibling, but now Gilbert knew!
Worrying about how to get away from him, Caroline had inadvertently 'helped' her!
He would dump her, right?
Which man could tolerate being cuckolded?
They arrived back at Golden Oak Manor, and the car stopped. Sherilyn frowned. Why did he bring her back here? Wasn't he supposed to kick her out?
As Sherilyn reached for the car door, ready to get out.
"Don't move!"
Gilbert's voice stopped her, his face a shade of gray, "Wait!"
Sherilyn froze. What was the problem with her getting out of the car?
Gilbert got out and came around to her side, lifting her out with trembling arms, careful and cautious.
Holding back his anger, Gilbert carried Sherilyn to the master bedroom, placed her on the bed, and tucked her in.
Then he left the room without saying a word.
Sherilyn was puzzled. What was he trying to say?
Regardless of his intentions, she was pregnant now. Leaving Golden Oak Manor was a certainty!
Sherilyn got out of bed and went downstairs.
"Ms. Gomez."
It was the housekeeper, Fidelia, who had just finished hanging clothes on the balcony.
Seeing her she said, "I was about to come up and call you. Mr. Fletcher said you hadn't eaten anything in the morning and asked me to prepare something for you. I'll get it ready now; just give me a moment."
Sherilyn paused. Gilbert had told Fidelia to take care of her before he left?
She had to admit, Gilbert was often he was often very caring toward her, especially in matters of daily life. One could say he was attentive to every detail.
But what did it matter? He wasn't always kind to her, and his kindness wasn't exclusive to her...
But she didn't value that kind of care.
