Chapter 11 If I Marry You

Chapter 11 If I Marry You

The two were quarreling in the corridor. Afraid of affecting his image, Conor held Elizabeth’s hand and

pulled her quickly downstairs to a street with few people.

There was only one lamp in the street. Under the dim light, pedestrians’ face could not been seen

clearly.

Elizabeth shook off Conor's hand and stood by the wall without saying a word.

Conor put his hands in his trouser pockets, lowered his head, and sighed deeply, “Actually...I've always

thought of you as my sister.”

“You didn’t say it before, and you now you said you take me as your sister?” Elizabeth asked hoarsely.

Conor frowned and answered impatiently, “Elizabeth, don't speak so badly! We were high school

classmates and came from the countryside. However, I am an undergraduate with promising future,

while you are just a junior college student, and you can only find a job with low income in the future.

You gave me money for the past one year, because you wanted to invest in me so that I can marry you

and take you to live in this big city when I am successful!”

“Is that the way you think of me?” Elizabeth looked at Conor in disbelief.

Conor lift his eyes to look at Elizabeth and said, “You are such a girl.”

“In that case, I want you to give me back all the money I have given you this year! Give it back to me

with interest!” Elizabeth stretched out her hand and said angrily.

Conor glanced at Elizabeth, pressed his lips, and slightly turned sideways, “See! I am right, you are

that kind of girl! Forget it, you are a girl from the countryside! You have no ambition but only money. I

cannot help with that.”RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

“You...” Elizabeth raised her hand pointing at Conor's nose angrily, but she said nothing.

Conor took out a wallet from his trouser pocket, took out all the money in it, and stuffed it into

Elizabeth’s hand pointing at his nose.

“Elizabeth, you are not good enough for me. Your identity, your education, your family are all not worthy

of me. Besides, if I marry you, I not only need to support you, but also your stingy mom, handicapped

dad, and even your worthless brother. In this way, I will be very tired in the future. Take this money as

my compensation for you. When I graduate and get a good job, I'll pay you back with interest.”

Conor sighed, shaking his head.

Elizabeth threw the money at Conor’s face directly.

Conor was stunned, looking at Elizabeth. He was not angry because Elizabeth insulted him, but

squatted down to pick up the money.

Elizabeth watched in amazement as Conor put the money he had picked up back into his wallet.

Conor spoke impatiently, “It is you don’t want the money. well, I was wrong first, and you should be

angry.”

“Conor, we have been classmates in high school for three years and in a relationship for a year. I didn't

expect you are dating two girls!” Elizabeth said with a crying voice.

She was in the work-study program and took care of him in every weekend, but he had another

girlfriend and lived with her!

Conor glanced at Elizabeth and was silent for a moment. He didn't know what to say, so he turned and

walked away silently.

He did not want to tangle with this woman.

Since she had known about the fact, they would have nothing to do with each other.

In fact, Elizabeth was more beautiful than Rachel, but Rachel had a rich family.

Rachel was from LH City and had several houses in this city. Her parents knew someone with strong

background.

If, he married Rachel, he would not be struggle for life.

If, he married Elizabeth, he would have to work hard all his life!

Therefore, Conor chose Rachel rather than Elizabeth.

Elizabeth watched Conor going away and shed tears until he disappeared in the darkness.

She could not cry out at the most painful moment, but she finally cried out after the pain.

Obviously, love was beautiful, but he destroyed it.

Conor loved Elizabeth before, but that kind of love was defeated by reality.

He couldn’t run a marathon of Platonic love with her, so in order to make himself better, he must

abandon her.

Elizabeth went to Conor's bedroom and took back her suitcase.

Stephen and Bob, Conor's roommates worried about Elizabeth, but after seeing the smile on her face,

they comforted her and sent her to the long distance bus station with Joseph.

Before leaving, Joseph said in a deep voice, “Don't blame me, Elizabeth. You're a good girl, and I don't

want you to be kept in the dark. You will meet a man who loves you and treats you well in the future.”

“Yes! Conor is a baster! Don't be too sad!” Stephen chimed in.

Bob also comforted, “Conor is a baster, but we are not! There are still good men in this world. Don't

give up on love, Elizabeth!”

“Well, thank you.” Elizabeth smiled with relief.

These three boys were righteous to her!

“It seems that no one help us wash clothes in the future!” Stephen said.

Bob immediately patted Stephen on the top of his head, “You bastard, wash by yourself?”

Elizabeth couldn't help laughing.

“The bus is about to start. Elizabeth, get in! Be safe.” Said Joseph.

Elizabeth nodded, waved and said goodbye to the three, then turned on the bus and set foot on the

way home.

As the bus moved, it drove out of the station.

With one hand around Joseph's shoulder and the other over Bob's shoulder, Bob walked side by side

with them.

“Joseph, do you like Elizabeth?” Bob asked while walking.

Stephen patted Joseph's chest and said, “Sure he is. You must suffer from the secret love for her for

the past one year since you knew her!”
