Chapter 2191
Chapter 2191
"Got it." Sylvia nodded, shying away from his eyes. "I won't let Claudia know."
In actuality, she also had her own reasons, worried that Claudia would tease Kendrix; of course, she'd feel embarrassed as well.
Smiling, Kendrix said, "The tea should be cool enough to drink now. Sip it."
"Okay." Sylvia nodded and took a sip obediently. It was indeed a lot better.
"The new semester is about to start. How are you doing with your studies?"
"We've been video chatting every day; you should know," Sylvia said. "Oh, I just remembered. Claudia said she's transferred here now; did you know about this?"
"I know." Kendrix was not too surprised.
"What about you?" Sylvia looked over at Kendrix. "Will you transfer here too? Or will you leave after your internship?"
Stumped, staring at her expectant eyes, he took pains to say he wasn't coming back.
However, as bright as Sylvia was, she naturally
understood.
His silence meant that he would leave.
Comforting herself, she said, "It's alright, so what if you go back to your post. You won't be far anyway; it'll be a quick flight. What's more, I still have school; you being here might just distract me even more."
Frowning, Kendrix knew she was comforting him not to worry about her.
She knew him well.
Kendrix fixed his eyes on her for a while before he said, "Don't get distracted, and your grades can't drop. This is my request to you, and you've promised me as well."
Stumped, Sylvia fixed her gaze at the good-looking man, nodding earnestly.
In the busy street outside the barbecue restaurant.
Claudia dragged Sebastian and Chigo shopping. She wasn't in a rush to make a purchase but strolled leisurely, checking out the trinkets sold. Claudia took her time admiring the array of goods, not intending to buy anything.
Sebastian's patience was long out the window. Seeing she didn't intend to make a purchase, he knew she was just buying time for Sylvia and Kendrix to be alone.
He had a good impression of Kendrix at first, but since their lunch at the mountain villa, he was thoroughly disappointed with him.
Hence, he thought little of him from then on.
He thought he wasn't a good match for his sister at all. Comparatively, Chigo was closer to them, and more importantly, he had feelings for Sylvia.
As Sylvia's older brother, more importantly, her twin, Sebastian thought he had an obligation to help his sister.
Seeing Claudia was still idling, he couldn't help speaking up, "Are you going to buy something or not? If not, let's get to the barbecue shop already." "Of course I'm buying." Claudia smiled. "But I can only make a purchase when I find the right one, no?"
"Well, you don't look like you're planning to buy anything at all." Sebastian snorted.
"Look at you; you're speaking as if you know me very well." Claudia winked at Sebastian, finding his sour face amusing.
It seemed that he had too much prejudice against her. So what if she had fallen for him?
Must he hold it against her like this?
Claudia liked to think apart from being a few years older than Sebastian; she was quite a good match
for him.
However, age wasn't something she had control over.
Sebastian said impatiently, frowning, "You've been shopping for well over ten minutes."
"Cause I still haven't found the right one yet!" Claudia spread out her hands. "You can't force me to make a purchase when I haven't found what I want, can you?"
"Then don't buy," Sebastian said gravely.
"No way. I want to, and I have to." Claudia wasn't going to yield either. "Now that I'm finally here, how can I not buy something when there're so many interesting things here?"
"How can there be anything good out here?" Sebastian knew Claudia was just making excuses, not that there was anything exclusive worth buying. Hence, Sebastian's tone wasn't that great either.
He was already in a bad mood; adding his impatience, he sounded rather resentful.
Claudia sneered and said, "Yeah, nothing here is worth Mr. Sebastian's attention and money, but it's interesting and useful for people like me." Her retort stumped Sebastian.
It wasn't that he looked down on the things sold there, just that he was upset with Claudia.
Nor had he ever looked down on anyone, just that he was angry at this woman.
However, now that she put it that way, he couldn't help locking his brows into a deep furrow. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
"You're twisting my words, Loris."
"And may I ask how I've done so? What words exactly? And how have I twisted it?" Claudia wasn't going to go down without a fight.
Sensing the atmosphere was
becoming hostile, Chigo butt in,
"Sebastian, since Miss Loris has
something she has to buy, let's just accompany her. Now that Miss Loris is here in Northern City, we should at least show her around, no? Relax."
"Well, isn't it because I'm worried we've kept Sylvia and Mr. Trevino waiting for too long." Sebastian brought the two up to remind Chigo of what was important.
Chigo smiled, his mood didn't seem
the least bit affected but even

comforted Sebastian instead. "Don't worry. I don't think they'd mind.. Besides, Mr. Trevino is her teacher; he will definitely take good care of

Stumped once again, Sebastian frowned when he saw Chigo wasn't ruffled at all.
He had no clue what was on Chigo's mind. Was he so unbothered that the two were together?
But if Chigo wasn't ruffled that Sylvia was with Kendrix, it'd be strange if he was the anxious one. Sebastian regained some calmness as he told Claudia, "Okay, another ten minutes."
He had decided he'd walk away if she was still going to idle when ten minutes was up.
Chigo smiled, understanding what Sebastian was implying.
Claudia could tell as well, just that she didn't take it seriously but still gave in, thinking of her plan.
She had inherently wanted Sylvia and Kendrix to spend time together, so she tried to stall the guys as long as possible. With the additional ten minutes, plus the previous quarter, it should be a good enough time.
Claudia didn't dwell too much on it but smiled and said magnanimously instead, "Okay then, thank you, both of you."
At that, Claudia smiled at Chigo and said, "Mr. Robinson, you sure have amazing manners."
"Miss Loris, you flatter me." Chigo still wore a smile, not showing a hint of unwillingness at all.
Surprised by Chigo's attitude, Claudia couldn't bring herself to be hostile but even had a tinge of admiration toward him.
It appeared that her cousin would have a difficult time pursuing Sylvia.
Chigo was definitely a strong opponent.
"No need to be so modest, Mr. Robinson." Claudia smiled. "You have a high EQ, I must say. You're charismatic and approachable."
She wasn't flattering him but only stating the truth.
Sebastian snorted, evidently mocking her, leading her to glare daggers at him.
"Miss Loris, what exactly do you want to buy? You should hurry up!" Chigo glanced at Sebastian, who already had zero patience, thinking he might really leave if they continued to waste time.
Moreover, the two seemed to be at loggerheads.
Of course, Chigo knew Sebastian was standing up for him, but he knew what he was doing and what he should be doing.
They were merely accompanying Claudia. There was really no need for them to make things so awkward.
Giving Chigo the respect he deserved, Claudia smiled and said, "You're right, Mr. Robinson. I should get to it."
With that, she turned her focus back to shopping.
After passing several stalls, Claudia was still choosing. Neither of the guys had a clue what she was looking for.
Just like that, five minutes passed.
Sebastian took a gander at Chigo again.
Looking at him in return, Chigo had a good idea of what was on his mind.
He smiled at Sebastian, a reminder that there was no need for him to throw a fuss.
Taking a step back, he whispered to Chigo, "Can't you tell she's deliberately wasting our time?"
"I know," Chigo smiled. "And you don't have to lash out either. I know you're standing up for me, but it all depends on Sylvia, isn't it?"
Of course, Sebastian knew it was indeed on Sylvia.
Whispering, Chigo continued, "Right now, she's head over heels for Mr. Trevino. I'd probably only make things worse by making a blind move. So why
not accompany Miss Loris; see it as doing a service."
"Dude, how are you still in the mood for that at this time? Who's going to do you a service?" Frustrated by his nonchalance, Sebastian was worried for him but could only remind him. "Some things you have to fight for."
