Chapter 2169
Chapter 2169
Sylvia had the satisfaction of forcing Kendrix into conceding that he liked her. As for the pact, they did not really matter to her.
She was aware that some restrictions were necessary, and she nodded. "Go ahead."
Kendrix's heart melted further, seeing that his girl was very compliant.
"First, you're still a student, so we can't be too intimate."
"Not even sitting on your lap like this?" Sylvia asked, "Plus, you were the one who pulled me into your arms just now. You also kissed me on your own accord."
A flush of embarrassment rose to Kendrix's handsome face. "Just this once."
"From tomorrow on then." Sylvia didn't want to leave his lap just yet, continuing to nestle in his arms.
His embrace was very warm, not to mention his long muscular legs.
Kendrix's eye flickered but did not answer her question and moved on to the second pact
instead.
"Second, we can't disclose our relationship until you've at least turned eighteen."
"Okay." Sylvia nodded, taking the matter seriously. She could understand why he came up with such a demand.
"Third, now that you're my girlfriend, I don't want to see you having any close contact with other men. Of course, I will keep a distance from other women as well."
"Fair enough. I like the third one." Sylvia beamed at him and wrapped her hands around his neck with a smug expression.
"Let go of me first." Kendrix stiffened at her action. Things would go south if it went on.
With such an enchanting girl in his arms, it was tormenting for him to banish those lustful thoughts as a potent man.
What was worse, this girl was trying to snuggle close to him; it was too tempting.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
"No, I have to make the hug worth my while." Sylvia pouted, and her lips were right in front of Kendrix. Once again, his gaze fell on them.
Staring at her lips, he repressed the urge to kiss her. At the brink of losing his self- control, he averted his gaze elsewhere.
However, Sylvia wasn't going to let him do so, stretching out her hands to adjust his face so that he looked straight into her eyes.
"I really don't like you doing this, averting your gaze from me and hesitating to speak. Do you know how bad it hurts me?" She was genuinely downhearted, hating his aloof side.
How could she not seize the moment when he was finally wearing his heart on his sleeves?
Taken aback, Kendrix knew his girl had taken it the wrong way; he had only averted his gaze from her to hold himself back.
He was fearful that he might hurt his girl if he lost control.
It was distressing to him as he vacillated between crossing the line and sticking to morality, wondering how to continue restraining himself.
However, he still crossed the line by cuddling and kissing her; there was no turning back for him anymore.
Nevertheless, he did not regret it. He had to make this girl his lest someone else got to her.
Meeting her eyes again, Kendrix sighed and said in a low and hoarse voice, "You're still too young." "I'm not young anymore. My great-grandmother had already gotten married to my greatgrandfather at my age," Sylvia argued.
Dumbstricken, Kendrix didn't expect the girl to use William's words against him.
Alright, he had to admit William did have him wavering from their conversation.
That said, he was still rational, patiently talking some sense to her with a gentle tone, "We're living in a different era from theirs. Our current society is marked by a highly developed civilization, and we must abide by certain rules and proprieties. Only in this way can we feel at ease, do you understand?"
"I understand, but I'm still sad." Sylvia shifted in his lap, finding a more comfortable position in his arms.
Kendrix froze, his face tense up.
He then leaned back before gently wrapping his arms around her waist.
Caressing her hair affectionately, he thought she had beautiful, black, shiny locks. The faint fragrance in her hair wafted toward him, alluring him. Kendrix closed his eyes. Though looking fine, his breathing became heavier.
Sylvia acted as though she didn't notice it, still nestling in his arms.
She said softly, "Fortunately, you've agreed to be my boyfriend. I'm also aware the pact is for my own good; you don't have to worry."
"Good that you know." Kendrix was gratified that Sylvia understood his intentions.
"Well, I do now." Sylvia recollected that she was still holding onto the hair comb Chigo gifted her and immediately confessed.
She took the box out of her pocket. "I have to tell you something."
It was a wonderful start to their relationship; Sylvia didn't want it to be reduced to ashes. Therefore, she thought she should come clean.
Only by saying everything could she not be afraid of being misunderstood.
Kendrix looked down at the box in the girl's hand, frowning, having a hunch that it had something to do with Chigo.
"Don't tell me this from that man this afternoon." He stared sharply at the box, and his voice turned cold.
"Don't wear such an intimidating face. You're scaring me." Perceiving his displeasure, Sylvia put on a pity look immediately.
His expression eased slightly, and he narrowed his eyes while gazing at her. "Okay, don't be scared. Tell me what it is." "Well..." Sylvia looked at him and said truthfully after making sure he wasn't angry. "Chigo made me a hair comb."
Hearing her words, Kendrix knitted his brow again.
Seeing this, Sylvia got keyed up at once.
She stroked his brow gently, trying to soothe it.
Kendrix stayed still, allowing her to do so.
"I've promised to comply with your pact. I will return it to him."
"Why did you accept it in the first place?" Kendrix asked softly, pulling her hand down and lowering his head to stare at her.
"I turned him down, but he wouldn't
take no for an answer, so I could only take it." Sylvia became more and more downhearted as she spoke. She lowered her eyes unconsciously and dared not look at his black and bright eyes anymore. "But, don't get me wrong. I really never wanted to accept it. Though I have a feeling he likes me, I don't feel the same for him. The person I like is you."
Kendrix's mood lightened slightly at that, and a faint smile appeared across his lips.
However, he stifled the smile in a split second.
He said with a long face, "Anyhow, you still accepted his gift."
"I didn't think so much at first." Sylvia looked up at him again, explaining nervously, "Talways saw Chigo as an older brother. I loved playing with him when I was a child, and it's been four years since we last saw each other. Meeting him this time brought back a lot of childhood memories."
"So you two have made quite a lot of memories together, huh?" Glumness filled Kendrix's tone.
"Please don't take it the wrong way. It's not what you think."
"It's not what I think? Do you know what I'm thinking?" Kendrix retorted.
Many thoughts came to her mind as she looked at his deadpan face.
"How are you so talkative today? You even hit the bottle. Are you jealous?"
Looking at her frowning face, a barely visible smile formed on his lips. "Will you be happy if I say I am?"
"Of course," Sylvia admitted, "Your jealousy proves that you like me and that it isn't an unrequited love. Of course, I'll be happy."
Smiling rather affectionately, he tittered. "Then are you happy that I kissed you?"
Sylvia reddened, not knowing what to say.
Before she could reply anything, the
man grabbed the back of her head and kissed her. The box in her hand fell to the floor, and the hairpin init fell out, lying by its lonesome on the floor. It gave a look of exquisiteness, beauty and loneliness.
This time, Kendrix showed no mercy.
Her mind went blank as she was in a stupor.
She remembered nothing from this kiss but instinctively grabbed his shirt to prevent herself from collapsing in his arms.
But even so, it didn't take long for her legs to go limp and her whole body to slump.
