why does she look like you
Marco then fixed his gaze on Letta’s pale face, drenched in sweat. She looked exhausted, still fighting for their little one, until Marco was taken aback. His heart raced as he heard their baby’s loud cry, now visible and rosy, being brought in by the nurse. Marco then glanced at Letta with teary eyes, and Letta returned the gaze with a melancholic look.
“Congratulations, it’s a girl,” the doctor said, causing Marco to smile, and Letta returned her husband’s smile.
“Our child is born, my love,” Marco said, making Letta nod weakly. Finally, the doctor finished his task, and the nurse took the baby from Marco and Letta. Letta truly felt the exhaustion in her body, not to mention the drained energy. She longed to close her eyes for a moment, but a gentle touch on her face made Letta try to stay conscious.
“Thank you for all this happiness,” Marco said, leaving Letta speechless, finding it hard to utter a word.
“Thank you for this perfect joy, your presence, and our little one truly completes my life,” Marco continued, gently kissing Letta’s forehead.
“Excuse me, Sir. May I check on your wife before you meet your baby?” the nurse said, making Marco nod. Marco chose to wait outside while Letta and their baby were cared for by the nurses. After that, Marco contacted Pedro.
“Hello Pedro, inform Daddy and Mommy that my child is born, and please take care of the rest,” Marco said.
“Alright, Sir. I’ll make sure everything goes smoothly. Leave it to me,” Pedro said, making Marco smile before ending the call. Marco then reentered as the nurse came out of the delivery room, pushing Letta, who was about to be moved to another room with their baby in a crib.
“Your wife will be moved back to her room,” the nurse said, making Marco nod. Marco followed Letta’s steps, observing how the tiny baby began to slowly open her eyes. A smile immediately appeared on Marco’s face as he saw his little daughter’s beautiful face. They had now been moved to the VIP room prepared beforehand by Marco. After that, the nurse immediately took the tiny baby and handed her to Letta and Marco, who were beside her. Letta, leaning on the bed, felt her hands tremble.
“Can I hold her?” Letta asked again, making the nurse smile.
“Eventually, you’ll get used to it,” the nurse said, making Letta nod. Then, somewhat awkwardly, Letta began to take over the tiny baby as the baby opened her mouth searching for something.
“It seems she’s hungry. You can breastfeed her. Maybe the milk hasn’t come in much yet, but you should keep offering it,” the nurse said, making Letta nod.
“I’m not quite used to breastfeeding yet,” Letta said, making the nurse approach.
“It’s okay, it might feel awkward at first, but eventually, you’ll get the hang of it. I’ll show you,” the nurse said, making Letta nod. Marco observed his wife’s hesitant movements, knowing this was her first experience. The nurse helped and demonstrated the breastfeeding technique, making Letta smile as the baby eagerly latched onto her first breast milk. Overwhelmed with emotion, tears streamed down Letta’s face, unable to hold back her joy, which in turn moved Marco to wipe away tears of happiness.
“I truly have become a mother,” Letta said.
“Yes, me too,” Marco said, reaching out to stroke the rosy cheek of their little daughter now in Letta’s arms.
“Have you prepared a name for her?” Letta asked, making Marco pause for a moment.
“I haven’t prepared anything. It all happened so quickly. I thought her due date was still a few weeks away, but it seems she couldn’t wait to meet her father,” Marco said, making Letta smile. Letta knew Marco must have been busy and perhaps arrived in a rush, without preparing a beautiful name for their daughter.
“That’s okay, we’ll think of it together,” Letta said, looking at their sleeping daughter in her lap.
“Is it okay if she sleeps in my arms?” Letta asked, making the nurse smile gently.
“It’s okay, but not for too long. It can make the baby uncomfortable. If you feel the baby needs to be put to sleep, you can use the baby cot, or you can use a kangaroo care method to provide warmth,” the nurse said, making Letta nod.
“How do I do that?” Letta asked, making the nurse take the baby and unfasten the clothing attached to the tiny baby.
“You can hold her close to your body like this and let her sleep,” the nurse said, placing the baby in Letta’s embrace. Letta held her tightly, and Marco also looked enthusiastic about the method.
“Can I also do it like that?” Marco asked, making the nurse nod.
“But be careful, especially if you’re not used to it,” the nurse said, making Marco nod. Marco moved closer to Letta, who was cradling the baby.
“He looks tired. Is he still sleepy after spending so long sleeping in your stomach?” Marco asked, making Letta chuckle.
“Perhaps. Isn’t it normal, as I’ve read in previous books?” Letta said, making Marco smile. Letta then glanced at Marco for a moment before returning her gaze to her daughter.
“Why does she look like you?” Letta asked, lifting her tiny baby, surprising Marco.
“I don’t know, her face is still not very clear. I mean, she still looks like any other baby, looks the same right now, but she definitely has the same eyes as you,” Marco said, making Letta smile.
“Really? Does that mean she looks like me?” Letta asked, making Marco smile.
“It seems she’s going to inherit her mother’s face. It’s okay, that’s what I want. I want to see a miniature version of you. It’ll be so much fun,” Marco said, making Letta lean her head on her husband’s shoulder, enjoying the happiness she was feeling. However, Letta was slightly startled when she remembered the events before she felt contractions in her stomach.
“What’s wrong? Is there something bothering you?” Marco asked, making Letta look at her husband with a fearful expression before nodding her head.
“Yes, I know. Perhaps Pedro and Desi didn’t tell you because we went straight to the hospital. But there’s something that’s making me afraid right now,” Letta said, making Marco immediately look at his wife with a serious gaze. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“Earlier, someone sent something to our house. As it happened before, an unidentified person sent flowers and some other gifts. But there was one package that really scared me. It all made me feel disturbed,” Letta said, causing Marco to furrow his brow.
“They had a photo of our wedding, and it was inside a box with baby clothes stained with blood. I saw it clearly before the guards took it and burned it. I’m afraid something might happen. Maybe that person is warning us to be cautious or whatever it is,” Letta said, making Marco clench his fists. Marco had not heard of such an incident happening to his wife and himself before. It seemed it needed to be addressed promptly.
