jacob’s network
Marco then parked his car right in front of the large Jovanka Mansion. The mansion that was usually used for large family events had now been taken over by Edward and Marco, serving as the place where Carlos was staying. Placing his uncle there was not without careful consideration. He deliberately did it so that Jacob would never have any excuse to vilify him and Edward.
Marco then walked, followed by Pedro and the other guards who were now waiting outside the mansion. Marco gazed at Carlos, who was lounging in the TV room. Unlike previous days, Carlos seemed more relaxed. Even now, he seemed to be sporting a broad smile as if something good was about to happen to him.
“No, it seems my uncle’s condition is much better after I kept him in this mansion. Is Uncle enjoying it?” Marco asked, looking arrogantly at his uncle, making Carlos seemingly unaffected by Marco’s current arrival. Previously, Carlos always displayed his displeasure and anger towards his nephew.
“Who knows, should I say I enjoy staying here or not, what is clear is that my mood has been better lately,” Carlos replied without looking at Marco, making Marco scrutinize every movement of his uncle.
“I heard Jacob has once again deceived me. He said he is already in the country. Isn’t that true?” Marco asked, and then he pursed his lips when he saw Carlos’s facial expression change. Carlos seemed slightly startled when he brought up Jacob. It indicated that Carlos also knew that Jacob was in the country, or perhaps they had even secretly met. But that wasn’t what Marco cared about at the moment.
“So it’s true, he’s here after seeing the reactions you gave. He’s smart enough to deceive Pedro and other subordinates about his flight from Dubai,” Marco said, making Carlos immediately look at him.
“It seems it was just your subordinates who let their guard down, or maybe my son is just too clever. Why are you disappointed with the reality?” quoted Carlos, making Marco finally walk and stand right in front of Carlos, closing the flat screen in front of him that had been Carlos’s entertainment earlier, making Carlos look up to meet Marco’s gaze.
“I want to give you some news that might surprise you. Iam kind enough to inform you first, so you can calm yourself,” Marco said again, making Carlos look at him with raised eyebrows.
“What do you want to tell me? Speak clearly and without any beating around the bush,” Carlos, who disliked beating around the bush that made their conversation convoluted, said. But Marco deliberately pretended to panic first, before telling him everything.
“I’ve breached Jacob’s network. I obtained the ID address from the hacker he has been using. And what happened next, he begged to have his ID returned and not to be reported to the prison. And he is willing to serve under me. That means your son cannot provide a safe haven for that hacker, right? Should I take him or not?” Marco said, making Carlos clench his fist. How could Jacob make such a mistake, Carlos thought, making Marco only purse his lips.
“Even with just a bluff like this, you already look scared,” Marco said, causing Carlos to attempt to speak when a gunshot rang out from outside, causing Carlos to widen his eyes. Similarly, Marco immediately turned to face Pedro.
“It seems he’s trapped us,” Marco said, prompting Pedro to nod. Suddenly, from within the Mansion he had occupied, Pedro’s henchmen ran when he gave a signal, startling Carlos slightly. Since when had those people been inside with him, Carlos wondered. They then lined up at the main entrance of the Mansion, and as the door opened, it revealed individuals aiming weapons at them. However, they were also stunned when they saw the contents of the room. Nearly half of it was filled with Marco’s and Pedro’s henchmen, along with Marco standing in front of them.
“Take off your mask. I want to see the faces of these rat followers,” Marco said, causing Jacob to sigh in annoyance before uncovering his face.
“You’re the one who did it. Are you short of henchmen? If so, I can lend half of the people here to help you. Do you agree?” Marco said, offering help, but it sounded like a mockery in Jacob’s ears.
“Where is my father?” Jacob asked, making Marco glance slightly behind him, where Carlos stood not far away.
“Your defense is too weak. You only brought a few henchmen to save your father. You should have brought more of Pedro’s men for me,” Marco retorted with his mocking tone, making Jacob clench his fists even tighter as he tried to aim the pistol in his hand.
“If you pull the trigger, it won’t be my henchmen who will be blamed, but the authorities who will immediately arrest you, and after that, I can’t guarantee anything about your father, understand?” Marco said, making Jacob grit his teeth. Afterward, he threw his pistol in a random direction, causing the henchmen he brought to look at each other. They knew they were entering the lion’s den, but they also didn’t realize Marco would place so many guards in the Mansion.
“Alright, since I brought henchmen far inferior to yours, let’s see who’s braver here. Shouldn’t we fight each other? It’s been a long time since we fought each other, 8, 9, or 10 years ago, perhaps?” Jacob asked, making Marco only smirk dismissively.
“You want to challenge me, so you want to fight me one-on-one?” Marco asked, making Jacob take a step closer. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Well, consider it that way. Haven’t you been relying solely on Pedro all this time, with Pedro doing anything for you? I’m starting to doubt. Maybe you only have a brain you can use, but your body is just for show,” Jacob retorted, seemingly deliberately trying to provoke Marco’s anger.
“So, right now you’re underestimating me. I don’t know, but I don’t feel the least bit offended,” Marco said, causing Jacob to stare at him with a blank expression. Jacob then looked around.
“You and Pedro are in the same place right now. Didn’t I hear that your wife just gave birth? So, who do you trust to be at the hospital?” Jacob asked, causing Marco’s facial expression to twitch, as if Jacob knew how to bring his anger to the surface.
“Or perhaps you’re being careless again, just putting some regular guards to protect your wife. You’re really not vigilant,” Jacob continued, causing Marco to twitch again, as if Marco understood the implications of Jacob’s words.
“Don’t you dare do anything to my wife, let alone hurt her. If she does, I could really finish you off,” Marco said, making Jacob smile as if displaying victory, as he looked at the watch on his wrist.
“I’m not sure. Has someone managed to feed your wife lunch? If so, maybe you have only about 20 minutes to save her. I also hope she’s not breastfeeding your child. If so, wouldn’t I be hitting two birds with one stone? My target is only Letta, after all. But I can’t guarantee that your child won’t be affected. Well, in that case, it seems I can meet my father in a good way, because you also have to leave, not to make sure of something,” Jacob said, making Marco clench his fists tightly.
