Chapter 4: Lost World
Chapter 4: Lost World
The voices called me. It has been trying to get me to go somewhere but I ignored them.
I've seen people in my dreams yelling at me, attacking me. Telling me to just follow the whispers.
But how could I?
I've decided to let my roommates know and after I told them what I'm going through, they all just looked
at me.
"I think it's a ghost, " Aaliyah concluded. She nodded her head and looked over to Lily.
Lily was thinking, it was clear, "I have no idea what it could be. This is all of our first time living here. It
could be anything. What I do know is that we should follow the whispers, "
"How?"
"Focus, " advised Jade and looked at me with her big eyes. "Listen to what is being said, "
The other two nodded their heads. I closed my eyes and opened my ears. I wanted to hear what they
say but I always just pick them up saying my name.
"... Tamzyn... Tam..."
I opened my eyes and looked at them, "I can hear them saying my name, "
"Try again, " Jade urged.
I focused again.
"Tamzyn... Are you there?"
"Um... Yeah,"
My roommates looked at me, but I could tell that they're not judging.
"Tamzyn, please help us. Please come here and help us,"
The whispers were soft, and the words were slurred. The voice belonged to a teenage girl, I presume.
She sounded a bit scared or perhaps it was worried or lost.
"Where are you?"
I started moving. It was as if though I was being pushed gently by some force and I didn't resist. I let
the gentle wind take me away and the others followed me. Lily as a cat.
We walked for five hours and reached empty land. There were a few trees and huge land of just neatly
cut grass. There seemed to be a border of thick fog.
We looked at each other and walked up to the fog. Jade touched it, it was like a thick cloud wall that we
couldn't penetrate.
"What is it?"
"Tamzyn. I'm right here,"
The girl said. Her voice didn't sound like a whisper anymore, she sounded like she was right here with
us but we couldn't see her.
"Can you see me? I can see you, "
"Where are you?" I wanted to know and put my hand on the cloud wall.
"On the other side. I'm holding your hand,"
I looked at my roommates. "She says she's behind this wall,"
"How do we get her out of there?"
I shrugged. "How do we get you out?"
Silence.
We waited. "I... I don't know. No one does,"
I looked at them again, "she says she has no idea how to get out. She doesn't seem to be alone in
there,"
"We have no magic. We can't get them out of there,"
Lily nodded her cat head. "And we don't have to do anything either. We walked for hours on end and
for what?"
Jade agreed, "I'm with Lily on this one. I'm hungry and it's getting dark. I thought that we were going to
find something cool, let's just leave,"
"I don't know. She seems trapped in there," Aaliyah stated and this was a statement I could agree with.
"We can't just leave them alone. We need to help them,"
"GO AHEAD THEN!" Yelled Jade, "but I'm going home,"
Lily transformed into a human-sized cat and picked Jade up, then she ran away in the speed of light.
Impressive.
"What should we do?" I asked Aaliyah.
It was just us now.
"Maybe Mrs Voss would know what to do, we, however, are only kids,"
I nodded my head and faced the wall again. I wanted to do something so badly but I couldn't it sucked
being so helpless. Especially since we're in a place surrounded by power. It makes you dream about
having power, and holding my wand makes me feel so powerful but this was the opposite of that.
Not being able to help drained me. I leaned my head against the wall. This place is so different from
earth but I'm slowly getting used this. Used to the ideas of catlike vampires that run as fast as my eyes
can close. Or walls made of fog but we're not falling through.
"I don't know what to do, but I'll try to find someone who can, "
Aaliyah placed her hand on my shoulder and gestured with her head for me to start leaving.
It was dark when we reached the academy and we went directly to Mrs Voss. She was in a meeting in
her office and so we had to wait for two more hours. My eyes were burning and I was weak from
hunger. I felt like I could go grab something to eat or drink, anything, even just water would do know.
But I waited. Aaliyah left to have supper and came back with a full stomach. I asked her why she hasn't
gotten me anything, her response, "because you didn't ask,"
What in the kak response is that? I've never been in this state that I am in you're going to tell me that?
"Mrs Voss will see you now, " the secretary informed.
I nodded my head and entered her office after my knock. Aaliyah followed I'm so annoyed by her now.
Since she's so rested, she could go back to the room now and watch tv or something.
We entered her office. It was dark inside and the only light that could be seen was from the lamp on her
desk and the natural light that came from the window behind her which didn't do much either.
She closed a book she writing in and looked up at us as we entered her office. She flashed as a warm
yet tired smile.
"So, what can I help you, young ladies, with?"
"Well... I hear whispers that led me to an empty field with a cloud wall, "
Mrs Voss looked at us intently and sighed. "Meledsan is known to have many hidden places, maybe
that's one of them,"
"What do you mean?"
She shrugged, not having dropped her small smile yet, "not sure. To tell you the truth, history says that
there have been many hidden places but no one could find them. It's rumoured, " she rose to her feet,
"let's go check it out, "
Aaliyah and I followed her. We travelled by broom, they say it's very fast and I believe them that it is the
fastest mode of transportation. I nearly fell on my back as Mrs Voss took off, she flew with me because
I cannot fly at all and Aaliyah flew on her own. This is fun, I can't wait to fly on my own one day. I have Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
no idea why the idea of being a witch is starting to sound not so bad.
She studied the wall and called a few of her friends. They're gemstones in man form. Green, red,
purple and yellow. And it wasn't hard to tell who's who. Yellow-Stone for an example, had yellow hair,
with crystal yellow eyes and even yellow skin. The rest as well.
They're hundreds of years old but not the same Gems from the same time. They're hard to kill, but
when they die they die. So if they take care of themselves they could be immortal.
We stayed there for another hour because this puzzled them.
Yorkana kicked the wall. She turned around to face us all, her emerald eyes crushed by the thought of
being unable to help all those people. "I give up," she waved her arms around furiously and shook her
head. She raised both her hands again and tried cracking the wall open. Her green fingernails
elongated as it did before when she and the others tried it already. Inside her chest, where her heart is,
a bright green light was shining through her skin. It was like it powered her or stored her magic.
Red-stone, who goes by Crimson amongst her friends walked up to Yorkana. Aaliyah and I both didn't
know that they didn't prefer the names that they're known for. Maybe they feel like those names take
away their humanity which only makes people seem them as these gemstones but not see them for
Yorkana, Crimson, Plum and Aurelia. It had me wondering if the others also had secret names.
"We can't get through let alone hear what is happening on the other side. You know what this means,"
Crimson looked over at Mrs Voss and gave her a stern nod. "You know what this means,"
Mrs Voss came towards me her frizzy hair blew in this cold evening. She had a look of concern on her
face that didn't sit well with me.
"Tamzyn, you're new to the academy, right?"
I nodded my head. She breathed out shakily.
"Well, I think you were reached out by whatever it is that's behind that wall. As a person from here,
from Meledsan, you should help them. You don't have to if you don't want too but it seems as if you're
the only one that can do it,"
"But how?"
She shrugged, "that's something that you'll have to find out all by yourself,"
