The unwanted wife’s unexpected comeback

Chapter 270

Chapter 270:

He buried his face in the blanket and spoke in a voice full of frustration.

«Caden, I could offer you so much.

I'm worth so much to you.

Why am I still nothing compared to Alicia?»

Caden’s voice remained flat.

“Courage and affection are not the same thing.”

“Love?” Yolanda raised her head with a bitter laugh.

"Are you really going to marry her? Could you even marry someone so full of jealousy?"

Caden's expression hardened.

"Yolanda, if I were to marry you, do you think you would be a suitable wife for me?"

Yolanda was stunned.

She gathered her nerves and asked boldly, "What if I said yes?"

Caden scoffed.

“You have the courage, but not the ability.

Even if Alicia wasn’t here, you would never become my wife.”novelbin

At this point, Yolanda had no more words to say.

The weight of his words hit her hard, leaving her unable to respond.

Caden left the room and didn't see her again for the next two days.

Yolanda knew she should not cause any more trouble.

She focused on her recovery and asked to return to Warrington in a few days.

Once the plane landed, Caden got into Hank's car alone.

In those days, he had never gotten close to Alice.

The whole situation had exhausted him mentally, and he closed his eyes, trying not to think about her.

He went straight to his apartment, expecting nothing more than a shower and a long night's sleep.

But when he entered, he found Alice waiting at home.

Caden leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, silently watching Alicia.

She was busy unpacking a package, her attention was completely focused on the contents, but her attention was fixed solely on her.

Whatever was inside the package was of no interest to her.

Even in a simple knitted jumper, she looked effortlessly chic, as if she were modeling something straight off a runway.

Her soft skin had a subtle pink glow, and her long, glossy hair cascaded down her shoulders, adding to the quiet elegance she always carried with her.

After the long days of tension and exhaustion, Caden found an unexpected sense of calm just by looking at her.

Silence hung between them, neither of them wanting to disturb it.

Alicia, aware of his presence, did not acknowledge him.

Instead, she continued methodically organizing small items into a bag, as if he were not there.

Caden’s gaze darkened before he broke the stillness.

“What hotel are you moving to this time?”

Alice finally glanced at him, her expression surprisingly calm.

Nothing seemed amiss about her, but he noticed something subtly different: she was much more serene than usual.

"What hotel?" she repeated without missing a beat.
