Chapter Seventeen
“I said, I did it for you.” I stared at him, I started at him through his eyes. There’s no way, no reason. There can’t be.
“Reese, please, you’ve done so much harm, if you feel even slightly sorry for me, you will leave me alone and just stop.” I begged him.
he seemed conflicted as the words I had said seemed to take a small effect. “Colleen, Please, just let me explain.”
“…”
“Please…” he pleaded.
sighing I gave in. I guess there was no harm in listening to the excuses he made. but I was certain that I wasn’t going to forgive him. all I needed to do was listen then chase him away.
“Fine but let’s get back to my apartment so we can treat these wounds.” I said as I glimpsed at the dead rogue behind Reese. who was to say there weren’t anymore?
heading back, which was quite a distance, we entered the apartment as I headed towards the first aid kit. disinfecting and dressing our wounds we had attained, I made us some tea, handing him a cup and as I took a seat opposite him. a moment of silence overtook us as I cleared my throat getting his attention.
sighing he looked me in my eyes a sense of shame, and a tinge of regret overcoming him.
“Your father.” he said in simple words.
feeling my hands tremble I put the cup down on the small coffee table.
“What?” I said with a shaky voice. I must’ve misheard. “What did you say?”
“I had met- no, I should say I had crossed paths with your father the night we’d met.” he said looking down.
“W-why would he come back? it makes no sense. there isn’t a reason for him to be here let alone meet you.”
“That’s what I had thought of at first, but Colleen, you have something he wants.” Reese said grimacing.
“What could I possibly have that would bring him here.”
“Colleen, are you aware that your father made a deal with the devil?”
“What?”
“So you don’t know.” Reese said with a sigh as he brought the teacup to his lips taking a sip. “Well that night, our first time… let’s just say something unpleasant took place.”

*Flashback*
**Reese’s Pov (A birthday with regretting.)**
“Alpha, there’s a Birthday party tonight being held tonight.” My aide, Derek spoke out.
“A birthday party?” I questioned as I continued looking at all the documents that seemed to continuously pile up day after day.
“one of the higher-ranking Beta’s daughter is hosting it for a friend, and you ‘re invited.”
looking up towards him from behind the papers, I raised my eyebrow. “You know I’m not an event and party person.” I said shaking my head.
“This is a chance alpha! I can feel it! you may just find the mate you’ve been waiting for.” he said trying to persuade me.
“There is another reason isn’t there?” I questioned.
“Well, she’s hosting it for her friend who is an omega, but she feels more people will attend if you’re there.” he coaxed.
so she was actually trying to attract attention and look for something? Lillian wasn’t the type to go out of her way to throw a huge party for a friend, not with her character. wasn’t this too far-fetched for her, using a friend’s birthday party as an excuse for a social gathering? I’m sure people would attend even if I weren’t there.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
“Alpha, take a break and relax yourself! You’re going to remain single for the rest of your life if you don’t take a leap to find your mate!” I ignored his rambles as I continued to look through the paperwork.
throughout the afternoon he had pestered and bugged and bothered me, and it began hitting a nerve. goddess help me before I break his jaw. it was bad enough that we had an ample amount of patrolling to do, and meetings to attend. But it was even worse that we had to heed to the elders and their ridiculous suggestions and plans for the pack.
“This is the last time to request a favour like this. never again.”
Feeling successful he yelled out in joy, capturing the attention of the elders. “You won’t regret it!” he said as he sat down beside me again.
little did I know how those words would bite back.

The so called “birthday party” had already began and the birthday girl, might I add, wasn’t even here. did they even know who the birthday was for? I felt irritated for some reason, and my wolf kept stirring, making be feel agitated and frustrated. I was already tired, but this was just too much. was this a punishment for neglecting my work to relax? that would be too much of a coincidence.
this wasn’t my type of atmosphere. but if it meant Derek would shut up I would take the chance. the door opened, revealing Lillian. I guess they were here. as soon as the person after stepped in a scent indescribable had tickled my nose.
*Mate*
haa…! so that’s what it was. she was here! she had finally come to me. the mate I had been waiting for. my beloved. I began searching through the crowd of people, for her, for what was mine. I’ve waited enough to get her, and I finally found her. the scent getting stronger, there she stood, her hair cascading down her back, her frame small enough to fit my embrace. sensing me she had turned around as my eyes locked with hers.
“Alpha.” and that voice I’d know it anywhere. This voice belonged to none other than her. The girl everyone knew as an omega. the girl everyone would take a second glance at, but she was oblivious to her looks.

“I’ve been waiting for you.” I whispered in her ear, getting her to shiver to my voice. This was it. I had gotten my mate. I wanted her… I needed her. only her. my Luna, my queen.
“y-you can’t be, how? ” she questioned confused, her eyebrows furrowing cutely. she really was something.
“I guess the moon goddess paired us.” I mocked jokingly. She simply glared at me for a moment.
“I refuse to be paired up with you.” she spat the words out like venom.
was she playing hard to get? I don’t know what image she has in her head of me, but that wouldn’t be the reason she could get away from me. she was mine and mine alone.
“Well you’re not rejecting me either.” I sated.
Soon an arousing smell, trickled my nose. she shifted as her face flushed suddenly. my wolf was become more difficult to maintain. why now of all times?
“What’s happening? Why are you in heat all of a sudden?” I questioned a bit panicked trying to maintain my composure.
“I’d like to know too.” her eyes looked into mine dangerously.
soon all the strings holding me sane snapped, as I pushed her against the wall, my mouth hovering hers. our kiss so passionate, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. pulling her into a spare room, I unzipped the dress the hugged her beautifully and finally mated with my love.
