Chapter 351
Chapter 351
Diana could only nod in resignation. "Alright," she said, "as long as you let me stay by your side, I
promise you'll see my good side."
Magnus kept quiet, his mind filled with thoughts of Natalia. All he wanted was to hear some news of his
wife from Diana.
Diana wisely kept silent as well. She lazily yawned, acting as though she were very tired. "Oh my, I
think I might have had a bit too much to drink."
James couldn't wait to leave, and with Diana's words, his eyebrows lifted in anticipation. "Since Miss
Diana is feeling a bit fatigued, we'll take our leave now." NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Magnus stood and began to leave, but not before giving Diana an assignment. "Miss Diana, could you
work on the design for this season's main product over the next couple of days? Will that be a
problem?"
"Of course not," Diana replied, her eyes sparkling slightly. "Rest assured, I'll have the design ready in
three days. Don't doubt my abilities."
Magnus gave a silent nod. "That's good to hear. We won't bother you any further then."
With that, Magnus and James left, one leading while the other followed.
Diana watched their retreating figures with a lingering gaze. She knew that she would need to show her
true skills now. But it was only a design, and with her intelligence, it was nothing she couldn't handle.
Once the door closed, Diana lazily lay down on the bed. She had had a bit to drink and was feeling
slightly tipsy. She would begin designing her piece tomorrow, showing her true abilities that would
surely win over Magnus.
Meanwhile, Magnus and James had parted ways after leaving the hotel and had each headed home.
Magnus' mood was not the best due to the lack of news from Natalia. He slowly drove back home, only
to find that the light in his son Jonas' bedroom was still on.
It was already late. Why wasn't the kid asleep yet?
Magnus found it odd, and as he walked into the living room and up the winding staircase, he arrived at
Jonas' bedroom. The soft light from the room spilled out onto the floor.
Jonas was still awake, holding a slightly worn-out teddy bear and deep in thought.
"Hey buddy, why aren't you asleep yet?" Magnus walked over and gently patted Jonas on the head.
"Daddy, you're back?" Jonas looked up, his expression not too pleased. He had a bit of a pout, enough
to hang a small lantern from.
Magnus found it strange. "What's wrong? What's got you upset?"
Tears welled up in Jonas' eyes as he said in a wronged voice, "Daddy, are you really getting engaged
to that lady from Rome, Miss Diana? Do you not want Mommy and me anymore?"
Magnus was baffled and picked Jonas up to sit on his lap. "Jonas, who told you such nonsense?"
Jonas shook his head. "Daddy, I saw it on the TV. They said you're getting engaged to Miss Diana. But
Daddy, I don’t want you to get engaged to someone else. I miss Mommy, very much."
Hearing Jonas' words, Magnus felt his own mood sink. He stroked Jonas' face and said seriously,
"Jonas, those are just wild guesses by others. Don't take it to heart. We can't always control what they
say."
"But Daddy, I heard many people say you're getting engaged to that lady. I am very sad. If you get
engaged to her, I will hate you forever! I only want my mommy!"
Tears rolled down Jonas' face.
Magnus quickly hugged him. "Don't cry, buddy. I won't get engaged to that lady. I am only spreading
rumors on purpose to make Mommy show up! When Mommy sees this, she won't be able to help but
come back. She won't like me getting engaged to another woman, and she definitely won't like another
woman being your stepmother!"
"Really? Daddy, are you telling the truth?" Jonas stopped crying and looked at Magnus with pure, soft
eyes, seeking a definite answer.
Magnus gave a small smile. "Silly boy, why would I lie to you? I, just like you, hope that Mommy will
return to us soon. Don't you believe me?"
Jonas finally smiled again, excitedly wiggling on Magnus' lap. "I'm so glad! I thought you were really
going to marry that foreign lady! I trust you, Daddy, of course I do!"
But then, Jonas' gaze dimmed again. "But Daddy, when will Mommy come back? Does she not like me,
is that why she doesn't want me?"
Magnus let out a small sigh. He pulled Jonas into his arms and said helplessly, "Jonas, there are many
things in this world that we can't help or control. Your mommy had to leave us because of these things.
But I think she must be thinking of us from somewhere, too."
Jonas nodded and leaned against Magnus, finally closing his eyes in peace.
Soon, Jonas was sound asleep in Magnus' arms. Magnus laid Jonas down on the bed and went to the
balcony to look at the night sky.
“Nat, aren't you coming back yet? Jonas misses you very much, and I miss you too!”
Meanwhile, in Rome, which was several hours behind Melfort, Natalia was sitting blankly by her easel.
Her mind was blank, and she hadn't been able to produce any designs for many days. Since Magnus
left Rome, she had seen the news about him and Diana going in and out of the hotel, and it felt as if
half her soul had been taken away. She had been in a daze for days, absent-minded in everything she
did.
Had she really lost Magnus completely? If she showed up, what difference would it make?
Natalia looked blankly at the empty canvas. Suddenly, she seemed to see a vision. Jonas was crying
and clinging to Magnus' leg, demanding that Magnus give his mother back to him. Tears welled up in
Natalia's eyes and she quickly extended her hand to wipe away the tear that was trickling down her
cheek.
She had been missing Magnus and little Jonas terribly these past few days. However, she couldn’t
show her face or return due to the terrible curse that might befall little Jonas. The thought of such a dire
consequence was something she would rather plunge into the deepest abyss herself than witness.
"Daydreaming, are we? What's got you so entranced?" Hector emerged from the house, carrying a
glass of freshly squeezed juice for Natalia.
There was a slight drizzle today, so he stayed in. During a moment of boredom, he decided to use the
fruits he had bought specially to make a nutritious drink for Natalia. As he was bustling around in the
kitchen, he had a full view of her through the glass, looking lost and forlorn.
