Chapter 131
Ten minutes later, Olivia and Marshall arrived at Mount Julford.
Guided by the GPS, Olivia instructed Marshall to pull over at the closest point to their destination.
Ahead lay a dense forest on the hillside. No car could make its way through. With her phone in hand,
Olivia quickly got out of the vehicle.
Throughout the drive, the car’s heater had been on, warming Olivia up significantly. Now, using the Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
phone’s location feature, she was sure Ezra was somewhere within this forest.
This forest, about 300 feet below the hilltop chapel, was relatively flat due to the mountain’s natural
contours.
The area was also sunny, leading some villagers from down the hill to plant fruit trees. Due to
occasional human activity, there were rough, trodden pathways beside the circular mountain road.
Sure enough, Olivia found a path leading up the hill and without hesitation, started her ascent.
The narrow trail, only wide enough for one, snaked its way up, at times dangerously close to the cliff’s
edge. It looked pretty sketchy.
Staying close to the mountain’s rock face, Olivia cautiously moved forward. Her legs were shaking- no
denying it.
But the thought that Luci and Ezra were waiting for rescue and could be in danger made her grit her
teeth and push forward.
“Marshall, tell everyone to be careful,” she said.
“Yes, Mrs. Kinsman,” Marshall replied.
Although his gaze never left Olivia, worried that the young mistress Mr. Kinsman had just found would
face any unforeseen dangers.
Though the dangerous stretch wasn’t very long, by the end, Olivia was drenched in cold sweat.
Thankfully, after navigating that treacherous patch, although the terrain was still complicated, the
terrain became much more manageable.
She kept a close eye on the signal indicating Ezra’s location. It hadn’t moved in almost ten minutes.
The
map
showed that they were about one mile away from Ezra.
She had carefully checked the map of Mount Julford in the car just now. About one or two miles away
from here, it was a relatively flat place.
Could it be that their pursuers had stopped?
Olivia pondered as she observed her surroundings. The terrain was even, and there were more visible
footpaths. She shared Ezra’s real-time location with Marshall and decided to split up to cover more
ground.
“Mrs. Kinsman, I think I should stick with you. I don’t like the idea of you being on your own,” Marshall
interjected.
“It’s fine. You go around the back with the others. I can handle myself.” Olivia a**ured him, more
confident now that the land was flatter and she had regained her strength. She had some confidence in
protecting herself.
“But…”
“We’re running out of time. No buts, let’s move!” Olivia interrupted.
Before Marshall could respond, Olivia took the lead, choosing a path and moving quickly.
Though concerned, Marshall knew the priority was to rescue young Mr. Kinsman. He quickly led his
group up another path, tracking the target.
Olivia’s heart raced as she subconsciously quickened her pace.
It was too coincidental for Lone Wolf to kidnap Luci at this time.
It should be the backup plan that Lone Wolf had prepared.
His ultimate goal was definitely to threaten William.
She just didn’t know who the mastermind was.
However, after Olivia found out that Luci and Ezra had been taken away, she had already made up her
mind. No matter who it was, Olivia had made up her mind, mess with her precious son, and she’d show
them a thing or two about playing dirty!

“Da mn scu mbags,” she thought, “Messing with kids? You’re asking for trouble!”
Olivia’s anger fueled her determination.
As she moved closer, she even thought she caught a glimpse of a red roof of what seemed like a
cabin, peeking through the
trees…
Meanwhile, in the small wooden cabin, a bandaged Lucian sat calmly on the only bed, back against the
wall, playing the role of the abducted victim.
The kidnapper had evidently seen him as a mere injured child, tying him up so loosely that it was
almost symbolic. His usually stern face showed no panic, but instead, a hint of boredom.
After hurriedly placing him there, the kidnappers had left, and by the sound of it, they weren’t outside
either.
He shifted to a more comfortable position, took out his phone, and resumed looking at financial news.
He’d been interrupted by abduction and still had some data to analyze.
He had just unlocked his screen when a Skype message popped up.
Frowning, he clicked on it, only to find messages Ezra.
His phone was always on silent, so he hadn’t noticed the incoming messages. Ezra had followed him
here!
Ezra: [Lucian, don’t be scared, I’m here to rescue you!]
Ezra: [Lucian, I just saw the bad guy leave. Is there anyone else in the cabin?]
Ezra: [Lucian, are you hurt?]
Ezra’s messages kept coming, and Lucian read them carefully, a warm feeling growing inside
“Are we brothers?” He thought.
When Lucian thought of Ezra, he felt a tinge of envy. He wished he had a mom by his side since he
was a kid.
Heaving a silent sigh in his heart, his nimble fingers danced over the phone’s keyboard.
Lucian: [Look, it’s just me. Don’t bother saving me. Get out of here and stay safe.]
Lucian typed carefully and hit send.
Given his injuries, he wouldn’t make it out without an adult around.
And with another kid? No chance.
He didn’t want Ezra to risk it.
But just as the message sent, he felt movement near the cabin’s window.
Expecting the man in black who had captured him, he instinctively slipped his phone back into his
pocket. But to his surprise, a little head popped out from the side of the window.
It was Ezra.
“Hey Lucian, I’m here to rescue you!” Ezra whispered, giving a helpless Ezra a salute.
Before Lucian could refuse, Ezra had already climbed in through the window, using a small wooden
stump as leverage.
Seeing him come in, the words died in Lucian’s throat.
All the reproach he had intended for Ezra got buried deep down.
Having never had a friend, let alone someone risking their life for him, Ezra was the first.
His heart wavered, and when he spoke next, his voice was gentler.
“Thanks for coming to rescue me, Ezra,” Lucian said, looking at Ezra with sincere eyes.
Blushing slightly, he felt a tad embarra**ed to be thanking a kid.
“Huh? You do speak! But, you got it twisted. I’m the older one. You should call me big bro!” Ezra
replied, correcting Lucian’s “mistake” with the utmost seriousness.
