Chapter 399
Chapter 399
When Cordelia was nursing her broken heart, Samantha arrived.
Surprisingly, Samantha had gained quite a bit of popularity. As soon as she walked in, people were
asking for her autograph. She took a seat across from Cordelia.
"Long time no see, cuz," Samantha said.
Cordelia ignored Samantha, her gaze firmly on the window. If murder was legal, Cordelia would have
killed Samantha long ago.
"Cordelia, I'm telling you for your own sake, you need to leave Ronan. Did you see what he did to
Aunt? He made her fall down the stairs, insulted her in court, and God knows what he did to Adrian. He
slept with Adrian's girl, and got her pregnant. The poor woman didn't want the baby, but he forced her
to keep it. She has a congenital heart condition, you know. And what he's done to you... well."
Cordelia glared at Samantha. She was suspicious of how Samantha knew about the court case and
Tabitha's heart condition. It was clear that only someone from Alana's crew would know such things.
Cordelia had a hunch that Tabitha, Allison, and Samantha were all working for Alana. They were all
trying to convince Cordelia to leave.
Samantha's allegiance to Alana was easy to understand. Alana was a big shot in the film industry, and
Samantha wanted to be a famous actress.
Ronan said Alana wouldn't be a problem anymore, but it seemed she was not only still a problem but
was casting a larger and larger net. Cordelia realized that if this continued, not only would she be in
trouble, but Ronan and Callum would be, too.
"Tell your boss I'm leaving for America. I'll never come back," Cordelia said.
"Huh, Cordelia, what are you talking about? I don't quite understand," Samantha replied, not hiding the
joy in her voice. She couldn't stand to see Cordelia thriving in Millstone.
Cordelia's lips curled up in a mocking smile before she left.
...
In the Presidential Suite at the Azure View Hotel.
A man dressed in black had just called Alana, informing her of the news Samantha had reported.
Cordelia was leaving for America, and she would never return.
“We’ll see if she keeps her promise. If she comes back, things will be even worse for her,” Alana stated.
The man hung up.
Alana sat gracefully on the couch, with Allison and Tabitha standing in front of her. “Did you do as I
instructed?” Alana asked.
“Ms. Alana, we followed your instructions. We don’t know she believes I’m her mother, or that Tabitha is
carrying Ronan’s child, but the court record is real. Even if she checks with the police, she will find the
record exists. If this is true, then my words are credible. She will believe Tabitha is pregnant with
Ronan’s child and that Tabitha has a congenital heart condition. She will think Tabitha will die if she
aborts the baby. This misunderstanding will surely keep them apart,” Allison explained.
Alana smiled. “Good job! Love lost is one of life’s greatest pains. Let her feel what it’s like to lose her
child and husband. After all, her mother once had everything.”
“Tabitha, you did well. Here’s a check for a million,” Alana said, glancing at the check on the table.
“Thank you, Ms. Alana,” Tabitha replied.
“Your task to seduce Ronan ends here for now. Unless I tell you to, do not contact him privately. I
wouldn’t want you to ruin my plans,” Alana warned Tabitha.
Tabitha bit her lip slightly. “Okay.”
She was somewhat reluctant. Who would willingly give up a man like Ronan?
Tabitha and Cordelia were in similar situations, both forced to make choices due to family issues.
Cordelia married Ronan because her mother was ill, while Alana used Tabitha because her brother
David was suffering from kidney disease. Her nurse’s salary was not enough.
The difference was Cordelia married Ronan; Tabitha was manipulated by Alana. From then on, their
lives took different paths.
As she finished speaking, Tabitha’s phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
