The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 194

Chapter 194

The delivery guy had dropped off Cordelia's package at the front desk, giving her a heads-up to pick it

up.

Cordelia's shopping app pinged with a notification - Ronan's underwear had been delivered. With a

spring in her step, she headed downstairs.

"Got a package for me?" Cordelia asked the receptionist, all smiles.

The receptionist glanced to one side and gestured to Cordelia. Following her gaze, Cordelia saw

Ronan sitting on the couch, chatting with someone. He spotted Cordelia and his brow furrowed slightly.

Cordelia stuck out her tongue, feeling like a schoolgirl who'd just bumped into the headmaster while out

shopping with friends.

As she was leaving, Ronan waved her over. There was a stranger sitting across him.

"What did you buy?" Ronan eyed Cordelia.

In front of the stranger, Cordelia felt too shy to tell the truth and said, "Not sure, I gotta open it and see."

"Alright, off you go."

Cordelia happily went back upstairs.

"So that's Mrs. Evans?" the stranger asked Ronan.

Ronan chuckled, "That's her."

"Mrs. Evans seems very happy, and very beautiful. So, Mr. Evans, about the land deal, we have an

agreement. I'll send the contract over," the stranger said.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

"Sounds good."

Ronan went back to his office and found Cordelia standing at his desk.

"It's here, wanna try it on?" Cordelia had opened the package and was holding a pair of underwear. Her

eyes were full of anticipation.

Ronan glanced at the underwear in her hand and lit a cigarette nonchalantly. "Is it study time or show-

and-tell?"

Cordelia's smile faded instantly. She slumped back into her seat and started reading.

Ronan returned to his desk and called up Emerson for a lecture. Cordelia thought to herself, “This

guy's possessiveness is off the charts, not even letting other teachers teach when he's not around.

So just how much did he resent Jamie who was always flirting with her? But he didn't say anything.

Suddenly, she remembered that she hadn't put away the underwear. How embarrassing if Emerson

saw it! Just as she was about to get up, Ronan frowned and said, "What are you doing?"

"I..."

"Sit down, class time!"

Cordelia had no choice but to suppress her annoyance and sit down. If Emerson saw it, it'd be his

embarrassment, not hers.

When Emerson entered the office, he asked, "What's up with Cordelia?" He spotted the underwear on

the table.

Knowing about Cordelia buying underwear for Ronan, Emerson said, "I see. I really shouldn't be here!"

He was probably implying that Ronan was changing underwear in the room. Cordelia was about to

explain, but then thought, “Never mind, explaining would be pointless.”

The class ended earlier than usual. After class, Cordelia got into Ronan's car.

"RC is buying land, wanna hear about it?" he asked Cordelia.

"Huh? What?" Cordelia was puzzled.

"The thing we talked about last time."

Cordelia couldn't remember. "Last time? What did we talk about last time?"

Was it Deanna's watch, or the shirt?

Ronan said through gritted teeth. "About starting a business! Never mind, you don't need to worry! I'm

just asking for trouble!"

Hearing his harsh words, Cordelia felt a pang of guilt and suddenly remembered their conversation. "I

thought you were just making small talk."

"When do I ever make small talk?" Ronan snapped.

Cordelia didn't say anything and felt guilty towards Ronan.

Just as she was feeling down, she received a message from Brooklyn. The picture was of Edwin

holding a baby, absolutely adorable.

[How about that?] Brooklyn asked Cordelia.

[The baby is really cute. I really want to kiss him. Will you come with me to see him this Saturday?]

Cordelia replied.

The baby was Brooklyn's sister's, already four months old and able to roll over. Brooklyn's sister had

helped a lot with the Manda fake bag incident, and Cordelia should thank her. Plus, she really liked

Brooklyn's nephew.

[I mean the adult!] Brooklyn said.

[Oh?] Cordelia finally noticed Edwin.

[He’s really handsome and stylish, a good match for you.] Cordelia replied.

[I'm glad to hear you say that. How about Saturday afternoon?] Brooklyn asked Cordelia again.

[Sounds good, I'll go straight to my mom's after seeing the baby.]

Then, she turned to Ronan and asked for leave, "I want to go see Brooklyn's nephew on Saturday

afternoon and then go to my mom's. I won't be back that night. Is that okay, honey?"

Cordelia was afraid that Ronan wouldn't agree because he didn't like her staying out overnight. To her

surprise, Ronan generously said, "Go ahead."
