Chapter 191
Chapter 191
"Ronan, you..." Deanna covered her face, addressing Ronan.
Deanna knew Ronan was very close to his grandfather, but she never thought he would lay a hand on
her.
"Get lost! And clear out the Sunnydale Meadows house. Send the keys to my office."
Deanna couldn't keep her cool, so she left. Angrily, she returned to the car.
"How did it go?" Samantha asked hopefully.
"Slap!" Deanna delivered a loud slap to Samantha's face. She, a star, had been slapped by Ronan. So
why wouldn't the assistant who gave her bad advice get the same treatment?
Samantha's face ached. She covered it with her hand, biting her lower lip as tears of humiliation rolled
into her mouth.
"Your advice sucks!" Deanna told Samantha. "Are you Cordelia's mole and here to sabotage my plans
on purpose?”
“No!” Samantha’s voice was low but firm.
“All your bonuses this month are cancelled unless you come up with a good idea to force Cordelia and
Ronan to divorce right away!"
Samantha's heart hardened. She thought to herself, not only will Cordelia be ruined, but so will you,
Deanna!
...
Cordelia helped Barney back to his room. Ronan checked on his grandfather and then returned to the
living room.
Ronan knew Barney's act of playing sick, but he was genuinely worried about his health. He lit up a
cigarette. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
Meanwhile, in Barney's room.
"Della, how was my acting?" Barney asked Cordelia.
"Barney, you..." Cordelia's heart almost jumped out earlier, fearing something would happen to Barney.
"I used to be part of the drama club when I was young. I purposely angered Ronan just now to break
him and Deanna up, so she wouldn't keep meddling with you two. She already considers herself the
lady of this house."
Cordelia didn't know what to say.
"But, Della," Barney suddenly became serious. "Ronan never told me about his corneal transplant,
probably because he was worried about his grandmother and me. He always keeps things to himself,
not letting us know. You need to understand him more and take good care of him."
"Okay. I know," Cordelia replied. She noticed Barney's health was deteriorating despite his constant
smiling. After all, he had lung cancer.
"Also," Barney took out a small notebook from the bedside drawer. "This is Ronan's parents' contact
information. Call them and ask them to come back. Even if Ronan doesn't want them back, they should
come and visit me."
"Ronan won't let them come back?" Cordelia asked, thinking, he sure liked to be in control. He was
even controlling his own parents.
Noticing Barney's awareness of his health condition, Cordelia felt a wave of sadness.
Cordelia looked down at the notebook. It was Olen and Amanda's overseas phone numbers. "Does
Ronan know about this?" Cordelia asked Barney.
"Ronan doesn't want to know." Barney waved his hand. "That's all in the past. Even though Ronan
doesn't want them back, I'm getting old and might not be able to wait much longer."
"Then... can I call them now?" Cordelia asked. Tears were already welling up in her eyes.
"Go ahead and call. Ronan won't call them. Even if I call them, they won't come back. They feel a bit
ashamed facing me," Barney said.
Cordelia dialed Olen's number, feeling a bit nervous.
Soon, the call was picked up on the other end. "Hello," a man's voice came over the phone.
"Hello..." Cordelia was at a loss for words. "I'm Ronan's wife, my name is Cordelia. I guess I'm also
your daughter-in-law."
