The Cherished Wife

Chapter 736

Ronald followed Charles out. "Mr. Hoffman, where are we heading now?"

"The hospital, to check on Winter," Charles replied, catching a glimpse of a few people lingering suspiciously at the hotel entrance.

He arched his brow slightly, appearing cold and sharp. To someone who did not know him, it might have seemed like he was smiling, but Ronald knew this expression meant Charles was clearly upset. "We're about to put on quite a show," Charles added.

Winter's allergic reaction was not severe, but for an actress, it was devastating. It would likely take several weeks before she could work again. At the hospital, Winter was shouting angrily, threatening to tear the place apart if the doctors could not fix her face.

Sean leaned against the door outside, listening to the doctors struggling to deal with Winter's demands. He smirked slightly and motioned to a nurse. "Mr. Smith, is there something you need?" The young nurse's heart fluttered when she saw Sean's playful demeanor, her face turning red as she walked over shyly.

"Mr. Smith?"

Sean narrowed his eyes and offered a harmless smile. "Is that the big star, Winter Shaw, inside?"

The nurse quickly nodded. "Yes, she's here because of an allergic reaction. Even our chief doctor is attending to her, but she's still not satisfied. She said she'll tear down our hospital if we can't treat her!"

The nurse huffed indignantly, adding, "I never thought a glamorous star would have such a bad temper. She even said Mr. Hoffman would come after us if she isn't treated." Then, she glanced at Sean. "Mr. Smith, what do you need me for?"

Sean smirked. "Nothing. You can go back to work."

Waving her off, Sean dismissed the nurse. He then walked up to the emergency room door, took out his phone, and recorded a video.

He sent it to Charles with a message: [Tsk, looks like the princess has ended up at my place. What do you want to do about it?]

Charles' car had just arrived at the hospital when he saw the video from Sean. He narrowed his eyes slightly. He replied: [Do whatever you want. Just make sure she stays in the hospital for a while.

[Oh, and make sure her face doesn't look too good either.]

Putting his phone away, Charles put on a sly smile.

Ronald glanced over, shivering when he saw Charles' expression. "Uh, Mr. Hoffman, should we still head up?"

"No, you go on my behalf." Charles checked the time. "It's getting late. I need to clock out and head home."

With that, Charles signaled to Ronald, who immediately took Becky with him and stepped out of the car.

As they watched Charles drive away from the hospital, Becky turned to Ronald. "Mr. Wells, what should we do now?"

Ronald chuckled helplessly. "What else? We go up and see how badly she's doing."

As Ronald thought back, he realized that Charles had not really done anything today. Although they had gone to the press conference, they only arrived during the latter part.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Moreover, Charles had not even interacted with Winter, nor had he done anything that would raise suspicions.

As for the hospital, Charles had not set foot inside at all.

Lately, Ronald found it impossible to

thinking. Everyone assumed he Charles Right-hand man, the one

who knew the boss' mind best yet honestly, trying to guess the big boss' intentions was mentally exhausting.

Meanwhile, the very boss in question drove straight to the supermarket. With over an hour left before the end of the workday, Charles headed to a supermarket near Noelle's rented apartment to buy fresh groceries.

By the time he got home, it was just past 5:00 pm.
