The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 220

Chapter 220

“Even if Calvin wants to take you away, he can’t, can he? Because the person you like is me, and the person you’re destined to fall in love with in the future is also me, right?”

He murmured, his voice soft, his warm breath brushing against her face. As his words trailed off, he kissed her lips.

He wouldn’t allow anyone else to have her; she belonged to him alone.

The following morning, when Rosalie awoke, Jonathan had already left for work. After breakfast, she set about preparing a lunchbox for him.

The Youngblood Residence was well-equipped with lunchboxes and ingredients, and the nearby chefs were ready to assist Rosalie if she encountered any difficulties or needed help.

By the time she finished making the lunchbox, Rosalie felt that her cooking skills had improved a notch.

With the lunchbox in hand, she made her way to the Youngblood Group. Today, she was chauffeured by a driver from the Youngblood family. Consequently, the security guards at the company’s entrance were taken aback when they saw Rosalie stepping out of the car.

Although many people in the company had heard about the enigmatic delivery rider, no one had anticipated that this rider would transition from an electric scooter to a private car so quickly!

Especially the car… Several security guards had already recognized that car as the CEO’s car!

Moreover, the driver was also from the CEO’s family!

To claim that the rider had no connection to Jonathan was simply unbelievable.

In fact, Rosalie was quite familiar with the security guards at the entrance. As she passed by, she greeted them proactively. “Good afternoon.”

“G-Good…” the security guards stammered in response.

Rosalie carried the lunchbox and made her way to the floor where Jonathan’s office was located. Everyone on this floor recognized Rosalie, and many of them knew that although she appeared to be a delivery person, her relationship with their CEO was far from ordinary.

“Um, is Mr. Youngblood in his office?” Rosalie asked.

“Yes,” a secretary replied.

“Is there anyone else in his office right now?” Just to be sure, Rosalie asked again. After all, she didn’t want to walk into a room full of executives with him later; that would be quite awkward.

“No, Mr. Youngblood is alone in his office right now,” the secretary replied.

Rosalie approached the office door and knocked twice before entering the room. Inside, she saw Jonathan seated at his desk, engrossed in a video conference!

Suddenly, Rosalie felt a bit uncomfortable. Even though he was alone in the room, he was in the middle of a meeting. The only consolation was that the camera for the ongoing conference was not facing her direction, so she didn’t have to worry about accidentally being on camera.

“You’re here. Just give me a moment; the meeting will be over soon,” Jonathan said.

“All right,” Rosalie replied, her voice barely louder than a whisper.

Rosalie walked over to the coffee table. Before she could place the lunchbox on it, she overheard voices in the video conference. “Oh, Jonathan, is that the woman we saw in our last meeting?” one voice said.

“It could be someone else,” another voice replied.

“I doubt it. I’ve never seen Jonathan speak so gently to any other woman.”

The conversation among these people was in French, and they were discussing whether Rosalie was the same person they had seen in their previous meetings.

Rosalie, with her good command of French, understood every word of their conversation.

Understanding the conversation only made Rosalie feel even more awkward.

In the end, Jonathan simply stated, “It’s her.”

One of the foreigners asked, “Oh, Jonathan, what’s your relationship with her? Are you two lovers?” Foreigners tend to be more direct in their speech.

It’s unlikely that any employees in the country would dare to ask such a direct question to Jonathan.

Rosalie then heard Jonathan respond in French, “She’s the person I love the most.”

In that instant, Rosalie felt as though her heart had been tightly gripped by an invisible hand. Even her heartbeat seemed to falter.

After the video conference ended, Jonathan walked over to Rosalie and asked, “What’s wrong? Your face turned so red.”

“Nothing… It’s nothing,” she quickly replied.

However, he persistently held her face, closely examining the blush on her cheeks. “Is it because of what those people said just now?”

She didn’t respond verbally, but her silence was a confirmation.

“Whenever we have a chance in the future, I’ll introduce you to them,” he said.

“Introduce?” she exclaimed.

He raised an eyebrow slightly. “What’s wrong? Don’t you want to?”

She hesitated. At this moment, his radiant, dreamy eyes seemed to carry a certain pressure, as if her refusal now might set. him off. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

After careful consideration, she said, “I just feel that we’ve just started dating, and these people seem to be high-level executives from your overseas division. Introducing me to them… isn’t it a bit too soon?”

“Too soon?” He smiled slightly, his fingers gently brushing the blush on her face. “I actually think it’s too slow. But if you think it’s too soon, then we’ll wait until you believe it’s the right time to meet them.”

Relieved, Rosalie finally let out a sigh.

“Then… can you let go of my face now? It’s time to eat.”

“I really don’t want to let go. Your face is so soft and pleasant to touch,” he murmured. “It’s like touching it will become addictive

Rosalie was left speechless, wondering if that was meant as a compliment.

Finally, Jonathan released Rosalie, allowing her to start eating.

Today’s lunchbox contained Tortellini with pesto, broccoli, and tomato soup, all of which were home- cooked meals. However, with the guidance of the chef from the Youngblood residence, these dishes looked exceptionally well-prepared.

“Rosie, did you make this?” Jonathan was a bit surprised.

“Yeah, but your chef was guiding me,” Rosalie added.

As Jonathan began to eat, Rosalie watched him with anticipation and asked, “How is it?”

“It’s delicious,” he replied with a smile.

“But it’s probably not as good as your family’s chef, right?” Rosalie said.

“No, I prefer what you make, Rosie,” Jonathan said. “I like anything you make.”

“Is this considered sweet talk?” Rosalie wondered. Just then, her phone rang, and when she checked, it was a call from Amelia, so she answered it.
