Chapter 473
Chapter 473
Dr. Dylan was in. He was all over this gig. He wanted to lend a hand to more people.
His old man was a doctor. He was influenced since he was a rugrat and vowed to be a top-notch doctor
himself, easing the pain of the sick. He had a thing for this job, but it had him feeling like he was in a
straitjacket.
The girl he was sweet on, Allison, wasn’t into him. Maybe, when an opportunity slipped through your
fingers, it was a goner for life. Dr. Dylan let out a sigh, his fists clenched, and he looked at Kenston
dead in the eye. “I got it, Dr. Kenston.”
Dr. Kenston gave a nod. Dr. Dylan was one of his star students, and he didn’t want to see him making a
bad call because of some love issue. “Pack your stuff, I’ll help you with the application. With your track
record and grades, you’ll be one of the first to go abroad for further study. You’ll be leaving next Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Tuesday or Wednesday. Make sure your parents know.”
Dr. Dylan gave a nod. He told his parents about it when he got home at noon.

Aherna was reading the paper. “Some people from my hospital are going too, I’ve already sent some
young docs. It’s a great chance to toughen up.”
Hertha wasn’t thrilled. After all, their boy would be away from home for so long. “Eight months, that’s
way too long.”
Aherna said, “You’re short-sighted. Our boy is going to better himself.”
Hertha asked, “Dylan, how’s it been at the hospital? Nothing went down, right?”
Dr. Dylan was washing his hands, he froze at the question, then said, “No.”
Hertha was bustling around the dining room prepping lunch. Aherna said from the side, “Are you
hoping something happened to our boy?”
Dr. Dylan was still washing his hands in the washroom.
Hertha put a bowl of soup on the dining table. She shot Aherna a look. “You don’t care about our son at
all.”
“What do you mean, I’ve been in surgeries these past few days.”
Hertha glanced at the washroom and lowered her voice. “I heard from my card buddies this morning,
Jade got in a row with Allison at the hospital yesterday.”
Aherna dropped the paper and adjusted his glasses. “What did you say?”
“I think Jade is nice, but Dylan isn’t into her, he’s only got eyes for Allison.”
“Our son has good taste. I back him up. Jade seems nice and comes from good stock, but I think
Allison suits him better. Dylan’s always happy when he’s hanging
out with Allison. You know that.”
Hertha said, “Jade kicked up a fuss at the hospital yesterday, and her mom’s the deputy head of the
hospital. She’s got nothing to worry about, just a few words of rebuke. But it affects Dylan, didn’t you
notice he’s been off these past few days?”
Aherna said, “I think you’re overthinking it.”
Hertha glared at him, “You just don’t care enough about Dylan!”
Aherna gave in, “Alright, let’s eat. I need to rest after lunch. I have an important surgery this
afternoon.”
Hertha said, “All you think about is work. Think about it. With Jade acting like this, how can Dylan
normally work at the hospital? I had a good impression of Jade, her mom helped Dylan before, and
now you’re saying…”
Aherna shot Hertha a look, who stopped mid-sentence. There was the sound of a door closing from the
washroom, Dr. Dylan came out, and Hertha immediately started serving lunch.
Dr. Dylan sat down at the table. “I have to go to the hospital after eating, I’m on duty tonight.”
“Alright, I have surgery this afternoon too,” Aherna responded. “Have you set your time? When are you
leaving?”
Dr. Dylan answered, “Dr. Kenston said the approval will be quick, so I can leave next Tuesday or
Wednesday.”
Aherna nodded. “Those going abroad for further study are the elite of the hospital. It’s a great chance
for you to study in the US. Their minimally invasive technology is top-notch now. It’s a blessing for
patients.”.
