The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 21 The Battle for Shares

Allison and Yasmin bumped into each other at the entrance of the Bennett Villa. Yasmin wasted no time blocking Allison's path. "Who was that guy in the car?"

Allison shot Yasmin a frosty look and shoved her aside. Yasmin almost tripped at the door, glaring daggers at Allison.

Yasmin pressed on, "Allison, you look guilty. Are you being kept by some old man?"

Yasmin's face was full of mockery, and she maliciously thought to herself that it must be true. Allison must have been noticed by a rich man and could even be a mistress. The more Yasmin thought about it, the more she believed her guess was right.

Allison snapped back, "Yasmin, my business is none of your concern! Don't pretend you care me."

Allison's attitude drove Yasmin crazy. She stormed into the house, intending to call out to Allison, but her expression changed instantly when she saw the person in the living room.

"Dad, why are you back? Didn't Mom say you were on a business trip for a week?" Yasmin fluttered over to her dad, Preston Bennett, like a little bird, nestling into his embrace and putting on a coy act.

Preston's eyes were full of affection as he looked at Yasmin, smiling warmly. "I missed you so much, so I came back early. How's your studying going? You look thinner. I'll have your mom prepare some supplements for you!" Yasmin felt very proud of Preston's love and glanced at Allison.

Yasmin said, "Don't worry, Dad. I won't disappoint you. I'll get into the best university in Skycrest!"

Preston was certainly confident in Yasmin, but his face darkened when he saw Allison. "How dare you come back?" His eyes were filled with indescribable disgust.

Allison looked at Preston, thinking how quickly his expression changed. In the past, she might have felt hurt by it, but now she didn't care much about his attitude.

"I asked Allison to come back. Do you have a problem with that?" Hayden's words softened Preston's expression, but he remained hostile toward Allison.

Preston said, "I have no opinion on this. But Dad, it was Allison who signed the agreement to sever ties with the Bennett Family. Now she's back, what does that mean? What does she take the Bennett Family for?" Hayden looked at Preston and got angry, smashing the teacup in front of him on the ground.

The living room fell silent. Seeing Hayden's rage, Allison walked over and sat beside him.

"Grandpa, don't get upset. I'm fine!" Allison didn't say anything else or try to defend herself because, in some people's eyes, her existence was a mistake. No matter what she did, she was always wrong. This was the lesson Allison had learned in her years at the Bennett Family.

"Preston, I will find out what happened five years ago and who was at fault!" Hayden's stern gaze fell on Yasmin, who quickly lowered her head, not daring to meet his eyes.

Hearing the commotion in the living room, Blair came out of the kitchen, sensing the tense atmosphere, and quickly tried to ease it. "It's rare for our family to be together. Let's eat first!"

Hayden gave Blair a cold look, then led Allison to the dining table, seating her beside him.

Hayden comforted Allison, "Don't mind their words! You're part of the Bennett family forever, no matter what anyone says!"novelbin

With that, Hayden looked at Yasmin, Preston, and Blair across the table.

Hayden announced, "I have decided to give 30% of my shares in the company to Allison. From now on, Allison will hold the most shares in the group!"

Hayden's words caused an instant uproar at the table.

Preston shouted, "Dad, are you crazy? You're giving the shares to this ungrateful girl? She's not even a Bennett. Why should she get them?"

Hayden shot back, "Because those shares are mine, the company is my legacy, and Allison is my granddaughter! These shares were meant to be Allison's birthday gift when she turned eighteen. No one can take them away!" Blair was freaking out. Those 30% shares were worth billions!

"Dad, you're being too biased. If you give the shares to Allison, what about Jasper? He's your grandson. You can't give the company's shares to an outsider!" Blair's words made Hayden slam the table in anger. Hayden was fuming. "Nonsense! Who are you calling an outsider?"

Seeing Hayden so protective of Allison made Blair even angrier. Knowing she couldn't confront Hayden directly, she turned her attention to Allison.

Blair snapped, "Allison, I didn't expect you to be so scheming at such a young age. You're using Hayden's love for you to get the company's shares. Don't forget, it was you who wanted to sever ties with us!"

Allison looked up at the three people glaring at her, two of whom were her biological parents. Her heart was already shattered.

Noticing her silence, Yasmin thought Allison must be feeling guilty and quickly spoke up, "Grandpa, I know you've always favored Allison, but even if you don't like me, you can't ignore Jasper, right? He's the heir of the Bennett Family. Why should Allison get the shares while Jasper gets nothing?"

In fact, Yasmin was thinking, why should Allison get 30% of the shares by pleasing Hayden, while she got nothing despite all her efforts to please him? Yasmin was unwilling and grew even more resentful of Allison.

Preston looked at Allison with a severe expression. He hadn't expected that Allison's scheming had deepened over the past five years.

"Allison, the company's shares have nothing to do with you. You have no right to inherit them. Get out of this house immediately!" Preston directly ordered Allison to leave.

In fact, Allison hadn't expected Hayden to give her the company's shares. She didn't care about them. But seeing the faces of the people in front of her, Allison laughed.

"Mr. Bennett, Mrs. Bennett, I actually want to sever ties with the Bennett Family more than you do, and I don't care about the company's shares. But given your attitudes, I've changed my mind. The company was founded by Grandpa. Over the years, although Mr. Bennett has been managing it, the company has been declining. To prevent Grandpa's hard work from going to waste, I'll take those shares!" Allison said.

As soon as she finished speaking, Preston stood up, glaring at her with a look that could kill.

"Those shares should go to Jasper. Allison, what right do you have to inherit them?" Preston said harshly.

Allison retorted, "The right given by Grandpa. Mr. Bennett, you are Grandpa's biological son. Haven't you ever wondered why Grandpa would rather give the shares to me than to you?"

Allison turned to Hayden and smiled, "Grandpa, don't worry. I won't let you down! But I don't think we can have this meal."

Hayden nodded. He had called Allison back to announce this decision, and he had expected opposition. But Preston and Blair's attitudes still disappointed him greatly.

They could unconditionally love Yasmin and Jasper, but they were so harsh to Allison. The more Hayden thought about it, the angrier he became.

"I'll have Jonah take you back. The shares will be handled by the lawyer. Don't worry, no one can take them away!" With that, Hayden went upstairs directly.
