The Billionaire’s Bargain Bride

Chapter 22

Best and First

SADIE

I’d waited.

Three hours later, still no sign of Cenric. Surprisingly, my banning from technology and the internet was over. I got my phone, cards, and keys back. As if everything was back to normal. The fridge was full. There was also a bag containing a new laptop.

So the full moon was over, and he was back to a regular hard-working man. Jeez, if he wasn’t the most temperamental, frustrating, unpredictable, and annoying man I’d ever met.

He still hadn’t come home. I was tired of waiting. I went to bed when it was already five in the morning.

An hour later, I couldn’t even get a blink of sleep. I sat on the bed with my chin on my knees. I was tempted to call him, though, but if he wanted me to know what made him so late, he would have let me know. I thought he was not the type of husband who informed his wife of his whereabouts.

“Why did you not take this?”

I was startled and quickly glanced up. My heart was still in my throat.

Finally, it was safe to say that he was home and looking as striking as he ever was.

“Sorry. Bad habit.” He leaned down to kiss me. “There were some bugs that we needed to address.”

“Bugs?” I asked incredulously.

“Software bugs.”

“Oh. I hate bugs. I mean the crawling one.”

“You okay?” He took off his suit, then his bowtie. The next thing he did was unbutton his shirt. And he looked amused as I didn’t mind taking my eyes off of him. I had to admit that I kind of miss him.

I rolled my eyes, debating whether to tease him as I enjoyed admiring his specs or let him undress alone. I chose the first one. “Go change in there.” I pointed at the door to his walk-in closet.

He laughed as he walked towards the closet. “Not tempted?”

“I can watch porn if I want to. More enjoyable than watching as your ego blow up.”

“Don’t you think real dick is better than porn?”

“Just change and come. I’m rather tired. Those heels were killing me.”

Later on, he came to bed in a shirt and pajama bottom. “I thought those are your size.”

“They are.”

He threw the blanket away, grabbed my foot, and scrutinized my feet. “Want a foot spa tomorrow?” He started massaging the sole of my feet. I thought it was sweet, and it felt good.

“I’m good. I didn’t catch blisters.”

“Shopping?”

“Nah. I’ll stay the whole day. Even if my lockdown is over, it doesn’t mean I want to go out and dance in the rain to celebrate my current freedom.”

He thought I just amazed him. His eyes gleamed with humor. “We can go shopping, then have lunch or dinner later.” He went to another foot, then my legs.

“Tempting, but I pass.”

“Cute feet.”

“I’m still mad at you.”Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

“I know. I can feel it everywhere, in you. You shielded yourself more than before. Just let me make it up to you, Sadie.”

“I don’t keep grudges. It’s like a disease, cancer. It will eat you alive. Considering we don’t know each other, and we are still here, not choking each other’s throat, I take it as a win.” I lay on my back.

He was still looking at me. “What I did—”

“I don’t wanna talk about it. I’ve been through worse. If that was how you wanna teach me lessons, try tying me in bed, lock me in a bathroom for a day or two.”

“What?” His voice was a low rasp. With wide eyes, he looked devastated, if my observation was correct. “Did that happen to you?”

I broke my eye contact. “As I said, it was in the past. He couldn’t hit me that left scars on my skin. So what he did was break me mentally and emotionally.”

He frowned as a thought resurfaced. He laid down beside me, pulling me in his arms. “I couldn’t even begin to imagine what you’d gone through. I won’t promise I can’t keep, but starting tonight, we will work on our differences. We make this marriage work for us. And don’t ever say you hate me.”

I held his hand and kissed it. “I don’t.”

“That hurts coming from you.” He planted a kiss on my exposed shoulder. “I know I’ve been unreasonably overprotected, but knowing what he did to you, I have now every reason to.”

I turned to face him and looked at him in the eye, the color of warm honey. I could see the sincerity in there. My gaze descended to his lips. “Be overprotective. You’re kinda hot when you’re being an ass.”

A smile broke on his face. “Really?”

“Yeah. I think I’m sick in the head.” I laughed out loud. “I’m a mess because I have a thing for a bad boy with a bad temper and immeasurable self-control.”

“I know.” He silenced me by closing the barely an inch distance between our noses with a sizzling kiss.

This time, he took it slowly. Our lips melded together.

I snaked my arms around his neck, and he rolled over, and I was under him. When his tongue flicked against the seam of my lips, I welcomed him in. I shivered at the first touch of his tongue into mine. My moan followed as he pressed his erection into my aching core.

I arched my hips insanely as it ached and ached even more. Cenric bent my knee holding it there as he rocked his hips into mine. His mouth descended to my neck, sucking the skin, nipping, and licking it over and over again.

I was breathless, restless as the vicious orgasm was building and building over, and I was helplessly undulating my hips to his erection, searching for a release. With his cock rubbing against my covered sex, my moan grew louder and louder. His hands found my breasts both kneading and rolling my hard nipples.

“Too much.” I didn’t know which of it—pleasure, pain, ache, or all of the above that I might die if I wouldn’t come. I grounded against him, struggling both to hold and let go at a time.

I knew I was soaked, my wetness leaking from my folds. My legs started to spasm. I was on the verge of flying, and when Cenric exposed my breast and captured with his mouth in hard suck, I flew higher.

“Take it,” he murmured against my skin.

“Don’t stop.” My body gave in.

He answered me with a moan against my breast. That’s it.

“God, yes!” I shook, clenched, and clung against him. I thrashed my head against the pillow, eyes rolling back—the lightning of bliss struck me so hard.

He bucked furiously, thrusting and thrusting, panting and panting until he shook violently, growling on my chest.

Once our breathing calmed down, he started shaking until I couldn’t hold my laugh anymore.

“What just happened?” My cheeks flamed.

He lifted his head, meeting my gaze. “I can’t remember the last time I jerked off in my pants.” He laughed again. Tears formed at the corner of his eyes. He got off of me and kissed me again. “This, I will promise to make up to you. I just remembered you’re still on your period. And that’s not the first time I’d like you to remember.”

“Promises, promises.”

“Babe, I mean it.”

I framed his face. He still looked great, even if his hair was everywhere. “At least you came on your birthday.”

He threw himself in the bed, laughing continually. “Best birthday ever!”

“Silly, I gotta go clean up.” I got out of bed.

“Truly. Best birthday.” He caught me before I entered the bathroom, squeezing me into a hug.

“Then happy birthday.” I planted a kiss on his lips. “And more of bests.”

We cuddled in bed, and it seemed that none of us wanted to sleep.

“Where do you wanna spend the day?”

“Your day off?”

“A birthday boy needs days off.”

“Anywhere as long as I’m with you.”

“How many days more?”

I looked at him over my shoulder. “Who’s counting?”

I smirked when he groaned.

“Two, three, a day?”

“I’ll seduce you once it’s over.”

“I’d love that.”
