The Bewitched Knight

Chapter 20

It was the day. It was finally the day, the end of senior year. I stood before the mirror tying my tie as the door flew open and Jung walked in looking miserable as he strangled the tie around his neck.

"Just what are you doing?" I asked as I left my tie back on the chair and looked back at him. "Oh?" he looked at me for a second from up and down and gave out a whistle. "Damn! Man you look amazing," he told me and I smiled as I turned back to the mirror and adjusted my suit. I chose to wear a navy blue, skinny fit tuxedo and for the first time, styled my hair backward. Truly, I looked different, but I wasn't sure if I was looking nice or just different. "Really? Do I look nice or just different?" I asked as I looked at Jung through the mirror.

"You look nice in a different way," he told me as he removed the tie and wrapped it around his hand.

"So? Who is your date today?" he asked wiggling his eyebrows and I sighed. "Who else do you think?" I said as I picked up the tie and tied it perfectly around my neck. My suit was a gift from my mom. She knew that prom was near and it was why, she sent our family's tailor to my school and he took my measurements and asked my preferences before sewing me the suit.

"My man played it right! Got the girl he liked!" Jung laughed and I gave him a look.

"Its the different case actually," I told him as I remembered being nervous wanting to ask Veronica out for prom night. But everytime, I tried to ask her, I would fumble and stammer and usually end up changing the subject. I was keen on asking her out for the prom but I knew that I wouldn't be able to ask her out. So, from the beginning of the month, I tried my best to ask her with every chance I got. But in the end...

She was the one who asked me out. I remember the day.

The bell rung indicating the end of the class and I sighed as I looked at Veronica's way and found her going through her books. I got up from my place and walked out of the class not bothering to take the chance to ask her as I knew I would fail.

I could hear people asking about the prom night and some pupil asking their dates out. I was tired and frustrated with mine own behavior. Just why can't I ask a single sentence?

I banged my head on my locker, frustrated. But then all of a sudden I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked back to fin Veronica.

"Why are you banging your head like a maniac?" she questioned and I felt my cheeks warming up in embarrassment. "Uh! Its nothing!" I answered as I laughed nervously.

"You have been growing weird day by day," she told me and I laughed. "Its nothing, really!" I told her wanting to get away now.

"You sure?" she asked and she narrowed her deep brown eyes at me.

"Yeah!" I replied pursing my lips as I turned around and opened my locker and shoved the books in.

"Anyways! The prom night is in next week," she said and all of a sudden I stiffened in my place as I avoided to turn back to face her.

"What do you think, which colour should I go for?" she asked and I furrowed my eyebrows not getting what she meant.

"What do you mean?" I asked and I heard her exhaling out, air.

"Ace! I'm talking about my dress. What colour should I wear? I am confused. Just tell me what colour have you chosen?" she asked and I turned around to face her in a second.

"Why do you want to know about my preferences?" I asked and she crossed her hand over her chest. "I hope you know that we have a prom night next week, in which we have to go. And when I say we, means you and me. I hope you are not going to ditch the prom night wanting to study and I also hope you have not asked any other girl out for the night, or else I would be in trouble," she said and all of a sudden, I had no idea why but I wanted to jump up and down, really much excited.

"Uh Blue! I have chosen Navy Blue," I told her and she nodded. "Fine, then I have to choose a dress accordingly then," she told me and left thinking about something.

But as soon as she left, I was already jumping up and down excited, not believing my fate. "Yes! Yes!"

I remembered the day, clearly. When Veronica was the one asking me out for the night, I was pretty excited because no more, I had to take the sufferings, from my side.

"What do you mean?" Jung asked because he clearly had no idea about the situation and I had no wish to tell him everything. Maybe someday, I would definitely tell him this and we would be laughing, together at this.

"Alright let me help you now," I said as I stepped forward to take his tie out of his hand but he stepped backward, away from me. "What? You don't want to tie your tie?" I asked and he smirked. "Of Course I want to. But I'm leaving this work for my date," he said as he laughed to himself and walked out of my room.

"This guy is crazy," I thought as I looked back at the mirror and checked the time from my watch.

"Shoot! Better Hurry up!" I told myself as I quickly checked everything and literally sprinted out of the room, not wanting to make Veronica wait. She had gave me a message telling me that she will be before my wing in five minutes. As, I hurried down the stairs, I held my glasses and excitedly went down as fast as I could.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

I was excited to see her, to be with her and to finally tell her that I liked her.

As soon as I got out of the building, I was met with a woman in a maroon colored dress facing the other way, but as she turned around to face me, I was awestruck and literally at the moment I felt my heart stop as I looked at Veronica smiling back at me, looking like a princess.
