Chapter 721 Surrounding the King's Residence
Chapter 721 Surrounding the King's Residence
"What's there to worry about, then?" Jerry asked.
"We have only three hours to daybreak, and we'll be in a very disadvantageous situation when it's
dawn!" Kelvin said.
"Everyone's asleep during this time, and recruitment of the King's guards hasn't been concluded yet. If Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
we move quickly now, we can surely capture the King before daybreak!" Jerry said.
"Everyone in Skyarch Palace is an experienced martial artist. They can definitely deal with the King's
guards easily!" Zane added.
"That's good, then." Jerry nodded.
Kelvin asked, "What happens after we capture the King, though, Dad? What do we do?"
"You told me before that we have someone skilled at witchcraft in Skyarch Palace. He can perform
spells on other people and control them, right?"
"Yes. He's the head of Three Poisons Hall. His skill in witchcraft is beyond what we can imagine!"
Kelvin answered.
"The first thing we do after capturing the King is to perform a spell on him so that he'll obey us. After
that, we can compel him to issue any commands we want," Jerry said.
"That's such a great move, Dad! The King will become our puppet, and our family will get to do
anything we want, right?" Zane asked excitedly.
"Yes! When the time is ripe, we can have His Majesty step down. Diatoran will be ours, and you two will
be my successors! This is just a fantasy at this point, however. We should take action quickly. The
operation tonight will impact the future of our family greatly!" Jerry said.
"I'll convey our orders to Skyarch Palace so that they can enter the King's residence and capture him
as soon as possible," Kelvin said.
"Sure. You should go do that quickly. We must succeed in tonight's operation, and we aren't allowed to
fail. If we succeed, our family will rise to heights unimaginable. If we fail, our family will collapse!"
Tonight was a big night. Nobody dared to approach tonight's mission carelessly.
"Don't worry, Dad!" the brothers said.
…
In the King's residence, Lyndon said, "It's late now, Your Majesty. You should rest soon. Staying up late
will jeopardize your health."
"Sure. It's late, indeed." Balthazar yawned. He was already on the brink of exhaustion anyway.
Lyndon and some other guards escorted the King as he left the study and went back to his bedroom.
Right after the King fell asleep, a mob of masked men surged toward the King's residence. They were
all innate or eternal grandmasters who were under Skyarch Palace.
The Andrews family had deployed all their experienced fighters here. The moment they started the
revolt, there was no turning back.
These martial artists had all laid low before this night. When they arrived outside the King's residence,
none of the King's guards had noticed. It was only after they had leaped up the walls and invaded the
residence that the guards noticed something was amiss.
It was already too late, though. The guards who surrounded the residence were all killed before they
could open their mouths.
All the men from Skyarch Palace entered the residence after that. The guards outside were about to
scream when they saw the invaders, but they all died right after they opened their mouths.
More and more guards realized that something was amiss. They all flocked to the area outside the
King's residence and started fighting with the men from Skyarch Palace.
Lyndon heard the noises from outside when standing guard outside the King's room. Shocked, he said
to his subordinate beside him, "Go out there and see what's happening!"
"Yes, sir!" The man rushed out immediately. He was also a martial artist at the highest level of the third
tier.
Mere moments after the King had fallen asleep, he was roused awake. He asked Lyndon what was
happening.
When Lyndon heard the King's voice coming from the bedroom, he replied, "Someone might have
invaded the residence aiming to assassinate you. I've already had my subordinate go out there and
see what's happening."
"What? Could they possibly be our enemies who want to kill me?" Balthazar asked.
"This is uncertain as of now, but that's a possibility we're considering. We have many guards stationed
here, though. I don't think anything too bad will happen," Lyndon said.
"If they aim to assassinate me, they must've already done due preparations. You all must be careful,"
Balthazar advised.
"Yes, Your Majesty. I should escort you into the secret chamber first so that you'll be safer," Lyndon
said.
"Must I enter the chamber again?" Balthazar said, displeased.
He had once retreated to a hidden chamber in West Aridlands in order to hide from the rebel forces
and had escaped from there. Regardless, he was still taken hostage.
The mere thought of it frustrated Balthazar. He was the king of a country, was he not? And yet he was
forced to hide left and right. What would this make him seem like?
"We don't know much about the situation now, Your Majesty. I know you're reluctant, but please do so,
Your Majesty," Lyndon replied.
"I had to hide in a secret chamber when Quinton Hans rebelled because I had no choice. It's different
now. Can you not even manage to deal with several assassins who want my head? If word of my
actions gets out, I'll be humiliated to no end!" Balthazar said.
"You said it just now, Your Majesty. These invaders must be prepared. That's why you should enter the
secret chamber now, just in case," Lyndon said.
Balthazar felt resigned. "Fine."
"Do you want me to report the current situation to Lord Caspian, Your Majesty?" Lyndon asked.
"There's no need to. It's just a couple of assassins, and Caspian is fighting a war out there as the chief
commander right now. Even if he gets word of what's happening in Dhord City, he won't be able to rush
back in time. Let's not worry him," Balthazar said.
"I should tell the other four Champions, though, shouldn't I?" Lyndon asked.
"They're all in their respective war zones, so they can't rush here at a moment's notice. Let's hide
before informing our reinforcements," Balthazar said.
Lyndon nodded. "Understood, Your Majesty." He quickly opened the tunnel to the secret chamber,
which was kept a secret. Only he and the King knew how to open it.
Without hesitation, Balthazar entered the chamber immediately. Unlike the other one, this chamber was
sealed completely without any exit. Lyndon stood guard outside the chamber lest anything unexpected
happen.
In the front hall of the residence, the guards fought against the martial artists from Skyarch Palace.
These experts were of mysterious origins and used exceptionally cruel techniques.
Although many among the guards were martial artists, they could not hold a candle to those from
Skyarch Palace.
Noticing that they were not their opponents' match, they could only retreat without pause. They knew
that they had encountered tough opponents. Despite that, though, they had to protect the King and
ensure his safety.
At this moment, more martial artists from Skyarch Palace surged in. The Andrews family had planned
this for a long time. Of course, they made sure to send out a lot of experts among their troops.
The Andrews family entered the residence together with the experts from Skyarch Palace.
