The Almighty Lord Caspian

Chapter 619 Surrender

Chapter 619 Surrender

Viktor and the rest of the officers inside the room turned pale after listening to the report.

No one had imagined that Caspian's attack would be so terrifying.

Only a few thousand Astronian troops remained at this point.

One of the senior officers spoke up, "General, we should just surrender. There's no way we're capturing

Willow at this point. And we don't have any way out of the city."

Another officer chimed in, "He's right. We've already lost. Surrendering is our only option."

"Caspian's troops are way too powerful. We need to surrender if we still want to live."

Viktor's men had already lost all hope as facing off against Caspian's 200 thousand men would only be

certain death.

A strategic officer asked, "What are you waiting for, General? We should surrender now so that we can

still have a chance to stay alive!"

Viktor asked, "We've been killing and looting throughout Southlake City for such a long time now. Do

you think Caspian will spare us even if we surrender?"

"I've heard that Diatoran never tortures their prisoners of war. We might still be able to survive if we

surrender now!"

"Yeah! The International Alliance will also make sure that we're treated well."

"We can buy time for His Majesty to continue the peace talks and get us out!"

The crowd began to discuss their survival.

Viktor explained, "After all that we've done, we won't be easily forgiven."

One of the strategic officers spoke up, "The International Alliance will definitely help us out since we're

part of them. They won't just abandon us!"

Viktor was also afraid of death and was eventually convinced by the rest of his men. "Fine, then. We'll

surrender."

He never imagined himself having to surrender and beg for mercy. He had had countless victories

under his belt and yet he still had to suffer such a humiliating defeat against Caspian.

The crowd was overjoyed after receiving a confirmation from Viktor. They immediately threw down their

weapons and ran out of the house.

"Stop the war! General Obrien has ordered us to surrender!"

"Stop shooting!"

The senior officers shouted as loud as they could.

Astronian soldiers immediately threw down their weapons and raised their arms after hearing the order

to surrender.

Some even raised a white flag. Everyone wanted to live to see another day. They realized that they

should just surrender now that the chance for victory was gone.

Viktor then made a call to Ted during the confusion.

Ted asked, "What is it, Viktor?"

"We've lost, Your Majesty. Only four thousand men remain."

"What? You're supposed to be Astronia's Champion! You brought hundreds of thousands of troops with

you, and all that's left is a mere four thousand?"

Ted already expected for Viktor to lose the war since he couldn't manage to send reinforcements due to

the distance. But he never expected the losses to be so massive.

Viktor explained, "Caspian's troops are way too powerful! Our troops aren't even a match!"

"Is Caspian truly so powerful?"

"Why didn't the International Alliance make a move? I can't fight back without any reinforcements here

in Southlake City! All we can do now is surrender."

Ted complained, "You surrendered? What do you think is going to happen to your reputation as a

Champion of Astronia? It's going to paint a bad light on Astronia as well!"

"Do you want me to die? Along with the thousands of men left with me?" NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

"I don't. Whatever. Just surrender, then."

"Your Majesty, you must secure a peace talk with Diatoran and get us back home!"

"Don't worry, I'm already on it. I won't just abandon my Champion!"

Viktor was relieved. "Thank you. All that matters is that we're still alive."

Ted then hung up the call.

The Archers were terrified after they heard that the Astronian troops were surrendering.

"Viktor, that bastard! Surrendering would also mean that we're done for!"

"I never expected the Astronians to be so weak. This is the fastest defeat I've ever seen."

"Isn't Viktor also a God of War? It turns out he's actually useless! We're done for!"

"Let's think about how we can still get out of this alive!"

"Viktor and his men will live on as prisoners of war, but what about us? Caspian will definitely execute

us for treason!"

"Oh God… What should we do now?"

The Archers began to discuss their next steps while lamenting their choices.

They had thought that they could become the most powerful family within Southlake City by defecting

to and working for Vadesia and Astronia. However, their plans completely backfired.

Meanwhile, outside of the Archer residence, Diatoran soldiers stopped the attack after seeing that the

enemy had surrendered.

Desmond reported, "Lord Caspian, the Astronian forces have given up."

Caspian replied, "What cowards! I can't believe Viktor actually surrendered!"

"Lord Caspian, you defeated Robert and forced Viktor to surrender. This war will rain glory upon the

name of our Diatoranian God of War as the strongest man there is!"

Caspian explained, "Oh, really? I don't think I can confidently say that I'm the strongest just yet."

"You're too humble, Lord Caspian. You defeated both Robert and Viktor. You deserve the praise!"

"I'd rather that Viktor didn't surrender. Now, I won't be able to deal with him personally."

Sylvia asked, "Lord Caspian, what do you mean?"

She quickly realized that Caspian didn't want to spare the lives of the Astronians.

Caspian explained, "These Astronian scums invaded Southlake City and plundered and killed our

civilians. I've already decided that I'll kill every single one of them and that they'll have to pay for all

their crimes!"

"Lord Caspian, do you plan on killing the prisoners of war?"

"They're not technically prisoners of war just yet… They may have surrendered, but we can just

pretend we never heard them. Kill them all!"

Sylvia and Desmond both instantly understood Caspian's intentions.

Sylvia exclaimed, "I understand. I'll order our troops to open fire!"

Desmond chimed in, "Yes, we should. The King of Astronia will definitely try to rescue Viktor and his

men if we were to keep them as prisoners of war. These foul beasts don't deserve to return alive!"

Caspian clenched his teeth and replied, "Very well. I'm glad that both of you understand my

perspective. We'll take revenge for all of our fallen comrades!"

Caspian was furious as he recalled all the horrifying crimes the enemy soldiers had committed.
