Chapter 281
Chapter 281
Maplewood Estates.
Mia tagged along with her hubby to clean up the place. The previous cleaner took off for half a month
during the Christmas holidays, so Andre decided to step up to the plate himself.
His wife was in the passenger seat, joining him for the ride.
However, while they were busy tidying up, Michael rang up, "Hey, Mia, didn't you see my messages?
Why are you ghosting me? I'm laid up in the hospital and you can't even swing by?"
Mia said, "I'm swamped at home. Don't have time to see you."
Andre asked his wife, "Who's calling?"
Mia replied, "That guy I told you about, Michael."
Andre walked over, grabbed the phone from his wife, put it on speaker, then handed it back to her.
Mia's heart raced as she watched her husband's bossy demeanor. She thought he was quite the hunk. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
"Mia, is there a man with you?" Michael asked.
Andre looked at his wife, waiting for her to answer the question.
"Yup, there's a man right here. He's my husband." Mia said.
Michael didn't buy it, "Are you spending Christmas with your brother? Do you have a boyfriend?"
"My husband, actually. It's Mr. Cedillo." Mia said.
"Ha-ha, why are you like those women online, calling him your husband? I bet he doesn't even know
you exist." Michael said.
Mia stammered, "No, it's not like that. Michael, you have to believe me. My husband is really Andre. I'm
his wife, married into a wealth family."
"Alright, keep dreaming, I won't bother you." Michael still didn't buy it. Who would believe that they got
a call from a tycoon's cute wife? She even dropped by to visit him, bringing fruits and money. And also,
who would believe that Andre would marry a brawl-loving woman!
At this point, Andre took over the phone, "Hello, this is Andre, the CEO of Cedillo Inc., Mia's husband."
Michael said, "I don't believe it."
Mia excitedly said, "If you don't believe it, I'll video call you."
Mia started a video call, and Michael saw on his screen Mia in the arms of a man. She even
shamelessly livestreamed her smooching her husband to Michael!
Michael was gobsmacked, "Damn, Mia, I almost made a move on you, you know?"
Mia was embarrassed. So when Molly was looking for her, Mia's phone was in the living room, and she
herself was on the master bed apologizing to her husband, "Babe, I really didn't know that he would be
into me after meeting just once. I didn't know I was that charming. It's not my fault."
Andre said, "If you were holding a kid, let's see who'd still be chasing after you."
"Wouldn't I be mistaken for the kid's sister then?" Mia asked.
Andre was even more upset, he held Mia tight. Right now, Mia just wished she could get knocked up
soon.
On the other side, Molly, who was at the Byrne family, got bored and put down her phone, not wanting
to chat with her friends anymore.
When the Byrne parents asked about the situation at the Cedillo family, Molly gave them the whole nine
yards, "My dad is like a kid, always likes to goof off with us. Naomi is super nice, while Bruce is very
serious, Andre can be a bit scary sometimes, and as for Mia and Leo, you guys know what they're like."
Coleen asked, "Why did you come back from the Cedillos so early this time, won't they have a problem
with that?"
Molly shook her head, "No, they give me as much freedom as you guys, I can live wherever I want. I’m
always welcomed to go home."
Molly thought of her family.
Her birth mother, even if all that left of her was a black and white photo, still felt warm to her. Looking at
her eyes, she could recall scenes from her childhood. Her father was old, but he respected her, doted
on her, and made her feel comfortable. Whether it was the Cedillos or the Byrnes, everyone was her
beloved family.
At this moment, Molly was filled with emotion, and she felt very secure.
After chatting for a bit, the Byrnes headed off to rest. Before going to bed, Chad looked at his sister's
face and told her, "Don't make too much noise at night, go to bed early, and don't come knocking on my
door."
Molly didn't know why he said that, she went back to her room and suddenly saw a small box on the
bed. She didn't know what was inside. Upon closer inspection, it was the watch she had been
dreaming of!
Molly was thrilled, she unwrapped the package and checked if it was the one she wanted. It was a gold
chain watch.
"Wow! I love you!" Molly shouted out loud. She ran out. Even though she promised not to knock on
Chad's door, she couldn't control her excitement. She ran out and knocked.
Chad saw it coming, so he hadn't slept yet. Hearing the knocking, he walked over with a smile and
opened the door, "Didn't you say you wouldn't knock?"
Molly happily wrapped her arms around Chad's waist, "Chad, you're the best."
Chad smiled indulgently, he looked at her when she couldn't see him, his eyes full of tenderness.
After Molly started college, she paid a lot of attention to her accessories. She wanted to buy a watch.
She went to many stores but didn't find one she liked. Later, she fell in love with this watch at first sight,
but she didn't like the leather strap and the gold chain was too expensive. She hesitated for a long time
but couldn't bring herself to spend over 20k on a watch.
Chad saw all her little dilemmas, he didn't give her gift cards for New Year's, but he would give her a
small gift every year. This year, before Christmas Eve, he went to the store and reserved this watch.
No need to ask if she liked it, Molly's expression had already said it all.
"I want you to put it on me yourself." Molly said.
Chad pulled her into the bedroom and sat her on the bed. He opened the box, took out the watch inside
and said, "Give me your hand."
Molly stretched out her hand, Chad slipped the watch on her wrist and buckled it up.
She looked down at the watch that fit perfectly, not too loose nor too tight. Clearly, it was made just for
her. She curiously asked, "How did you know my wrist size?"
Chad said, "I've been holding your hand for fifteen years. How could I not know?"
Looking at her watch, Molly was so thrilled she couldn't sleep. She lunged forward to try and kiss Chad,
but he pushed her away, "You're all grown up now and still want to kiss me. Aren't you ashamed?"
"Nope, haven't we always done this?" Molly asked.
In the end, Chad, half-resisting, half-allowing, was pecked on the cheek by Molly.
Bright and early the next day, Molly started showing off her wrist to her parents, "Mom, Dad, check this
out."
Coleen said, "You've spent all your brother's money."
Molly replied, "He’s just spoiling me."
Grandma Aubree said, "Leave some money for your brother. What if he gets a girlfriend and can't even
afford to take her out for dinner?"
Molly propped her face up and glanced at her brother, "Do you want me to give you some money?
Andre gave me a lot."
Chad replied, "I don't have a girlfriend, and I don't need it."
