Chapter 932

Joe watched as Skylar and Steven fussed over each other, ignoring his presence entirely.

Skylar had only glanced at him briefly upon walking in. Other than thanking him for taking those bags, she hadn’t said a word to him.

She grinned at Steven cheerily. Joe felt a little unhappy.

“I couldn’t get used to the local cuisines over there, so I dropped a few pounds. I’ll regain them within a few days.” Steven didn’t care whether he was skinny or fat; he simply couldn’t adapt to the food overseas.

Skylar checked the time and said, “I’ll make dinner. Steven, is there anything you would like to have? We’ve got fish at home. Would you like some fish and chips?”

Steven’s eyes brightened. He exclaimed, “You know me best, Skye.”

He was craving for it.

As she got up, she noticed Joe’s gaze. She asked, “Do you have anything you’d like?”

Joe was placated by her question. He answered, “I’d like some poached eggs.”

Steven eyed Joe. Could such a simple dish like poached eggs satisfy Joe? Skylar’s culinary skills were wasted on such a plain dish.

As Skylar busied herself in the kitchen, Steven glanced at her from time to time.

“Why don’t we lend her a hand?” Joe asked.

Steven stood up immediately and agreed, “Sounds good.”

After a while, Steven and Joe chopped up vegetables, washed and

tidied up as Skylar cooked.

Thankfully, they had a big kitchen. If not, it wouldn’t have enough space for the three people busy in the kitchen.

Steven cooked often. His culinary skills were amazing too. Skylar had been planning to make three dishes. However, Steven contributed to

two more dishes.

Upon seeing that, Joe made a fruit platter to compete against Steven. The fruits he selected went well together. Skylar suggested adding coconut juice and turning it into a fruit mocktail instead.

Just like that, a few appetizing homemade dishes were done.

“Would you guys like some beer?”

Skylar opened the fridge and found a few cans inside.

Joe and Charles glanced at each other and nodded simultaneously, Yeah.”

They seldom entertained friends at Galaxy Villa. Even Gloria had only been here once.

Helpers from Pearlhall Residence came to clean and deliver food. Usually, it was only Joe and Skylar. She was overjoyed to see Steven, as they hadn’t met for a long time. Even though her alcohol tolerance was low, she opened a can of beer for herself too. As they ate and drank, night fell.

Joe and Charles got along like a house on fire. They were on the same page when it came to their conversations about work. Joe even gave Steven a bit of advice.

Skylar didn’t disturb them. She listened to their discussions.

Occasionally, they would ask Skylar about her work when they thought they were leaving her out. She would talk about it, but her job was rather boring. Instead, she brought up negative items that had

been showing up lately.

“I believe someone wants to create a huge net in Jipsburg to create tension and conflict between the most powerful families here,” Skylar said sternly. She turned to Joe and continued, “You should look into who these families have offended in the past.”

The enemies that lurked in the shadows were the most difficult ones to vanquish.

“You’ve got to protect Skylar. If they realize that Skylar was the one who destroyed his plans, he might try to harm her.” This was Steven’s primary concern.
