Richest Mogul 1274

Chapter 1274

Paul touched his face, his eyes reddening as he said, “I know I’m not in a good state right now.

He remembered clearly how each scar had come to be. “I used to think that no difficulty could defeat me. I believed I could endure anything. But I’ve realized I’m not that strong, nor can I bear so much hardship.”

Skylar listened quietly to Paul; being able to voice his feelings was beneficial for his recovery.

“For years, I kept telling myself I would escape One day, I would get out. Many people went insane, and I nearly did too. But sometimes, I felt a glimmer of clarity and seized the opportunity to survive.”

As Skylar listened, she noticed that Paul’s condition was improving and his emotions were settling. She asked, “Do you know Ned Sowle?”

Paul’s eyes widened in disbelief when he heard the name. “How do you know Ned?”

“First, tell me how you know him, okay?” Skylar replied gently.

Paul looked a bit dazed before he slowly explained, “He and I were both captured at the underground factory. He’s also a survivor of that car accident.”

“Survivor?” Skylar suddenly realized something. An incredible thought struck her. “You mean Ned, the one with the last name Sowle?”

“Yes, that’s him.”

“Is he a Clusian?” Skylar’s voice trembled slightly.

Paul nodded. “How do you know him? He said his parents died long ago, and he has no family in Murida, only a girlfriend. But she probably thinks he’s just missing by now.”

“Does he look a lot like Joe?” Skylar asked, gripping her hands anxiously.

Paul hesitated for a moment before giving her an incredulous look. Then, he nodded slowly and said, “Ned looks a lot like Mr. Martin. They looked like the same person, but there were some differences. He’s severely nearsighted and needs glasses. At first, I thought he was Mr. Martin, but unfortunately, he isn’t.”

Tears filled Skylar’s eyes as she listened to Paul. “Mr. Ziegler, if the Ned you know is the same

Ned I know, then I can almost be certain that Joe isn’t dead.”

Skylar’s heart raced as she pondered the situation. It seemed that by some twist of fate, Joe had become Ned and lost all his memories, believing himself to be Ned Sowle.

It was also possible that the severe car accident had caused his amnesia.

Paul remained in shock after hearing that Joe was still alive. He took a long time to regain his composure. It wasn’t until Skylar showed him recent reports about Ned that he truly

understood the situation’s reality.

His gaze landed on one particular photo. In it, Ned looked serious and distant, his expression utterly cold and indifferent.

It was as if nothing in the world mattered to him. He looked at everything before him with cold indifference.

“This is Mr. Martin… but why does it say he is Ned? Ned clearly… died. We were supposed to escape together, but he fell and hurt his leg. They caught him first and beat him to death.

“Realizing I couldn’t escape, I secretly ran back, but I was still caught and beaten. The injuries on my body and the scars on my face all came from that time,” Paul explained, looking at the photo as he recounted his experience.

As he spoke, his innate sharpness and intelligence led him to a sudden realization.

He stared at the photo on the phone as understanding dawned on him. “They look very similar. The only difference is whether or not he wears glasses. So, Mr. Martin must have been rescued and mistaken for Ned. But if he was saved, why would he assume Ned’s identity?”

“He believes he is Ned. To this day, he hasn’t admitted he is Joe. Perhaps he lost his memory due to the car accident,” Skylar speculated.
