Richest Mogul 1047

Chapter 1047

“It’s been so long since I last watched a movie,” Minerva said with a sigh as they walked into the theater.” The last time I went was during my freshman year in college. After that, I just got too busy.” She paused, reflecting on how different her youth had been compared to others–marked by its monotony, perhaps.

No wonder Rowan found her dull.

She had grown up following the exact path her parents had laid out for her, never really exploring who she

truly was.

But now, spending time with Skylar, she felt relaxed.

Skylar smiled, “I don’t go to the movies much either. Back in college, I had a close friend who was obsessed with this actor, Austin Powell. Every time one of his films came out, she’d drag me along to watch it.”

“Austin Powell? I like him too! Whenever I have free time, I binge–watch his shows. He’s an incredible actor. Your friend had good taste–Austin’s a total superstar.” Minerva laughed.

Just then, Minerva’s phone rang.

“Excuse me, I need to take this,” she said, answering the call without stepping away.

The person on the other end was clearly an older woman.

“Hello, Mrs. Jakeman. I’m sorry, but I haven’t seen Rowan lately, so I’m not sure how he’s doing,” Minerva responded with a soft, polite tone.

Her words were respectful, and her patience was evident. However, her expression remained distant, almost cold.

When the conversation shifted to Rowan and their situation, Minerva’s demeanor didn’t change. “Mrs.

Jakeman, Rowan has moved on. He’s found someone he cares about, and they seem happy together.I wish them the best. So, could you speak to my parents and let them know it’s time to formally end things

between us.”

Her voice was calm, as if she were discussing someone else’s life, not her own. There wasn’t a trace of emotion behind it.

It was as though Rowan’s betrayal–breaking off their engagement and starting a new relationship with Jenny–didn’t faze her at all.

It seemed that she only cared about ensuring that the engagement was officially called off.

Whatever the person on the other end said next caused Minerva’s brow to furrow slightly. But her tone. remained gentle and composed. “I’ll go along with whatever my family decides.”

Finally, she ended the call with

a courteous, “Goodbye, Mrs. Jakeman.”

After hanging up, Minerva stood still for a moment, staring at her phone.

She then tossed it casually into her bag and turned to Skylar with a smile, as if nothing had happened. Shall we go in? I think it’s about time.” All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Skylar nodded without showing much reaction. “Yeah, it’s probably starting soon.”

They entered the dimly lit theater, each holding a bucket of popcorn. Once they found their seats, they noticed very few people there.

It was no surprise. The movie had been screening for almost a month and was about to be pulled from

theaters. It was totally normal that no one was watching it anymore.

“Looks like we’ve got the whole place to ourselves,” Minerva said, unable to contain her laughter. She looked happy, as if she had gotten a reward.

2/2

“We do,” Skylar agreed, glancing around. Only one other couple was sitting in the back row, far enough away that they might as well not have been there at all. The theater was so empty that it truly felt like a private screening.

“This is perfect! Now we can laugh as loudly as we want without worrying about anyone else,” Minerva said, her eyes sparkling with a rare kind of joy.

For some reason, seeing Minerva like this made Skylar’s heart ache a little.

Despite the fact that everyone around them knew about Rowan and his new relationship with Jenny, no one seemed to consider how much pain this might have caused Minerva.

Minerva, trying to stay upbeat, shook her head with a smile. “I’m just going to let loose tonight. No point wasting all this popcorn.”

She glanced down at the massive bucket in her lap. Since she was young, she’d been raised under strict rules about what she could eat. Her mother, prone to gaining weight, had‘ always worried Minerva would inherit the same problem.

As a result, Minerva’s diet had been heavily restricted. Even now, her mother frequently asked about her weight, scolding her if she gained even a single pound.

Over time, Minerva had learned to eat sparingly, never indulging. But tonight, she seemed determined to break free from that pattern.

“I’ll join you,” Skylar said, giving her a playful wink.

The two women burst into laughter, feeling a sense of camaraderie as they prepared to enjoy the movie and their popcorn without guilt.

Meanwhile, in the back row, the couple whispered softly to each other, completely unaware of the quiet moment of liberation unfolding just a few rows ahead.
