Richest Mogul

Chapter 761

Gloria sighed softly. “I hope Joe and Skye can get along well. If they do, I’ll be at ease.” Edgar nodded in agreement. “They will be, I’m sure. They both seem to be doing well.”

Vera’s car was parked by the roadside under the streetlight as she inspected the front.

She caught sight of Joe’s car in her peripheral vision. Her vehicle was hard to miss, even at night, and as she anticipated, Joe’s car pulled to a stop next to hers. They hadn’t been able to talk at Pearlhall Residence.

Joe didn’t get out. Instead, Lucas stepped out and approached her. “Ms. Ruell, is there something wrong with your car?”

Vera’s posture tensed slightly, her expression turning a bit rigid. Her eyes involuntarily shifted toward the car as she wondered why Joe wasn’t getting out.

Lucas, thinking the wind might have carried away his words, repeated, “Ms. Ruell, is your car having issues? Let me take a look.” Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

“It’s probably just broken down,” Vera replied absentmindedly, though she wondered if Joe was trying to avoid raising suspicion. The distance from Pearlhall Residence was significant.

Lucas immediately began inspecting the car.

Meanwhile, Joe stayed in his car, his eyes on his phone. The screen displayed his WhatsApp conversation, with Skylar. When he looked up, he saw Vera walking toward him.

She tapped on his window twice, signaling him to roll it down.

Joe obliged.

Vera said with a touch of apology, “It seems I’ll have to hitch a ride with you. My car can’t be fixed right away.”

Just then, Lucas approached. “Mr. Martin, I can’t repair Ms. Ruell’s car right now.”

Joe responded, “Alright, get in.”

As Vera reached for the car door, Lucas opened the passenger seat for her. “Please, Ms. Ruell.”

Vera’s expression stiffened for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. “Okay, thank you.”

Meanwhile, a nearby camera captured the entire scene

“Finally, we’ve got a shot of Martin Group CEO’s rumored affair.”

“That woman is Vera Ruell, the young lady from the Ruell family who just returned from abroad.”

“What a perfect match!”

“This news will definitely make headlines.”

Skylar and Janine were watching TV together.

After some chatting, Janine sighed about the news of Sadie being killed by Peter. She couldn’t help but

think of Maisy. However, she made sure not to mention Maisy in front of Skylar.

After all, the path she chose was her own to walk. As for Maisy’s future, Janine could only hope for the best, wishing Maisy would make a better life for herself.

The TV show playing was Skylar’s favorite–a family drama.

The scene revolved around a father, away for more than a decade, coming home in frail condition. Stunned and harboring deep resentment, his wife and children were unwilling to accept him.

Having been left by his former mistress, the father returned alone and haunted by memories of the family he had abandoned.

“Skye, if it were you, do you think you could forgive him?” Janine wondered aloud, her thoughts wandering back to the vague figure she had noticed in the hospital.
