Before she could finish, Paul said with a gloomy face, "I know her."
Aria rarely saw Paul talking to someone in such a manner. She looked at him strangely. "What's the
matter, Paul? She's my friend. Why are you talking to her like that?"
Cathy smiled, "Aria, we have met before, he may have some misunderstanding about me."
"What happened?" Aria always felt like she was missing something.
"Well..." Cathy had wanted to explain, but was cut off by Paul.
"Miss Lawson, it's not a misunderstanding and I think you know it. My girlfriend and I are going to
dinner, bye."
Then Paul took Aria away.
Aria was puzzled, "Why are we leaving? I just met an old acquaintance, we should invite her to dinner!"
Paul stopped. "If you want to eat with her, I don't want to be there."
Aria knew that Paul wasn't an unreasonable person, so she couldn't help wondering what was going on
exactly.
Cathy deliberately said, "Paul, you are putting Aria in a dilemma. We are friends, as her boyfriend, you
should at least respect her friend, don't you think so?"
Aria nodded, "Yes, Paul, what's going on?"
Paul said with a stern face, "Miss Lawson, you waited here on purpose, didn't you? You think I can't
see it? You'd better stay away from Aria."
"Aria, I have told you it was a misunderstanding. Look at him..." Cathy said pitifully.
Aria was angry. "Paul, you are making me embarrassed!"
Paul looked at her. "If you believe in me, leave with me."
Paul rarely looked at her with such an expression, and Aria's heart skipped a beat.
After a while, Aria looked at Cathy, "Sorry, Cathy, let's eat together another day!"
Cathy looked at Aria in disbelief. She had always thought Aria was a spoiled woman and didn't
understand why Aria was so obedient to Paul.
This was not good for her.
Cathy had wanted to stop Aria, but she was interrupted by Paul.
"Miss Lawson, don't embarrass yourself."
Paul then took Aria away.
In the restaurant, Aria had no idea what had happened during her absence.
Paul was ordering food, and Aria, always hot-tempered, took the menu from him and spoke.
"What is going on? Tell me now!"
"Order the food first, I'll tell you after that."
Aria had no choice but to wait.
After he finished ordering food, she grabbed his hand, "Tell me now, what is going on?"
"Here's the thing..."
Paul explained it in a few short sentences.
Aria soon understood, "So, she doesn't like Hugh at all. She likes my brother. She came to steal him
from Sophia? Also, she and Sophia are actually cousins?"
Paul nodded.
Aria thought for a moment, then suddenly said, "It's good you stopped me. If I met and talked to her
alone, she would deceive me."
"I really did not expect that Cathy would be such a cunning person!"
Paul was relieved. "You should be careful, she will definitely come to you again."
"Got it."
To Aria's surprise, Cathy sent her a message while they were having dinner.
"Aria, it is me, Cathy. I got your number from Flynn, I am texting to ask you if you can meet me after
you have dinner with Paul."
Aria had wanted to refuse, but eventually agreed.
"Okay. See you then."
Paul noticed something off with her and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. You should go back to work later. I have something important to do." Aria looked a bit excited.
Paul frowned, "Aria, don't do anything stupid."
"Don't worry. Even if I messed up, I have you to clean my mess, right?"
Paul didn't know what to do about her.
After dinner, Paul asked someone to follow Aria and found that she went to a restaurant for afternoon
tea, and then met with Cathy. He was a little worried.
He had told her everything. Why did she still choose to go see Cathy?
As he was about to go out, the spy he had sent told him that Sophia was also there.
Paul was relieved.
When Cathy saw Sophia, she was stunned and looked at Aria, "Aria, why did you call her here?"
Sophia did not expect Cathy to be here. Aria just said on the phone that she came back and wanted to
have afternoon tea with her. She didn't mention that Cathy would be here.
Aria held out her hand and grabbed Sophia's arm warmly. "I heard that you and Cathy are cousins. I
thought that we can meet together. Cathy, you don't mind, do you?"
Cathy seemed to read something from Aria's eyes. Even if she did mind, she couldn't say it out.
"Of course not! But it's really surprising. I had been wondering who Drake has married, it turned out to
be my cousin!"
"But only you are worthy of Drake, Sophia."
Aria said calmly, "Cathy, since Sophia has become my sister-in-law, you, Drake and I are kind of family
now."
Cathy finally knew why Aria agreed to meet her. She was surprised that Sophia had gotten Aria so
faithful to her. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
"Well, of course."
"Sophia, what do you think?" Aria looked at Sophia.
Sophia hadn't said a word. She really didn't expect that Aria would do this for her.
