Chapter 13.
Nelly’s POV.
Suddenly, my door flew open, making me jump up in bed. My heart pounded in my chest as | looked up to see Alpha Kex standing in the doorway, his expression unreadable. His hands were crossed behind his back, and | couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding. He tossed a cloth at me, and | caught it reflexively.
“Get dressed,” he said, his voice flat and emotionless.
“For what?” | asked, my voice shaking slightly.
He let out a hiss, his eyes flashing dangerously. “How many times do | have to tell you. that you do not question me?” he demanded, his voice cold and hard.
| swallowed the lump in my throat, my eyes falling to the floor. “Sorry... Alpha.”
| looked outside my window, | saw the

| held the cloth in my trembling hands, feeling the rough canvas beneath my fingers. The
pants and top were also made of the same stiff fabric, and they were a deep black.
As | headed to the bathroom, | felt a sense of dread settle over me, a feeling that | couldn’t shake. What would happen when | put on this uniform? | just prayed it’s not what | was thinking.
| hurried through my shower, my mind racing with a thousand thoughts. | didn’t hear any footsteps outside the bathroom, but | knew Alpha Kex was still in the room.
So | decided to dress in the bathroom. | dressed quickly, pulling on the pants and top, the fabric stiff and unyielding against my skin. | didn’t bother drying my hair, instead pulling it back into a tight ponytail. My hands shook as | tied the knot, a sign of the fear that was churning in my stomach.
| stepped out of the bathroom, my heart pounding in my chest. Alpha Kex stood facing away from me, his back broad and imposing.
As if noticing my presence, he turned immediately, His eyes swept over me, taking in every detail, from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. wake, my steps small and hesitant.
In the distance, | saw Aisha, her clothes identical to mine. As | drew closer, she whispered in my ear, “Where are we going?” | shrugged helplessly, unable to offer any
answers.
“Did you say anything to annoy him?” she asked, a worried look in her eyes. | shook my head, still unable to speak.
Aisha gave a small nod, her expression grave. The only sound was the soft rustle of our clothes as we followed Alpha Kex through the corridors.
The field was vast and open, the grass lush and green. Alpha Kex came to a stop in the middle of the field, turning to face us. His gaze settled on me, and | felt the weight of his stare. | held his gaze.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
“From this day forward, you will both be training here,” he said, his voice firm and commanding. “Our females are not only lovers, they are fighters. They can defend. themselves in any situation.” We nodded, absorbing his words.
“Be warned, there will be consequences for those who are late to training,” he said, his voice cold and uncompromising. His eyes rested on me for a moment before shifting to Aisha. “I am not one to make idle threats, and my consequences are never pleasant.”
Achill ran down my spine at his words, and | could feel Aisha trembling beside me. “Understood Alpha,” we chorused, our voices meek and resigned.
With a curt nod, Alpha Kex turned and began to walk away, leaving us standing in the field, the implications of his words hanging heavy in the air.
“I'm still a bit shaken,” Aisha said, her voice quivering slightly.
| laughed, a bit nervously. “Didn’t you get to sleep early last night?” | asked, surprised at her reaction.
She looked at me, her eyes wide. “I did, but Alpha Kex woke me up at 5:30 am!” she exclaimed.
| let out a low whistle. “That's an early start,” | commented, feeling a bit more awake myself. Aisha nodded, still looking a bit dazed.
Suddenly, a deep voice boomed, “It’s time!” We turned to see two hulking men standing at the edge of the field, their faces stony and impassive.
One of them flung a sword towards me, and | scrambled to catch it, nearly tripping in

The man who had thrown the sword approached me, his face still impassive. “Like this,” he said, demonstrating a sword-fighting stance.

“Try striking,” he said, positioning his sword towards me.
| took a deep breath and swung the sword, aiming for his shoulder. The man easily blocked my strike, his sword glinting in the sunlight. “Good,” he said, nodding his approval.
| felt a surge of pride at having successfully blocked his strike.
As we continued to spar, clinking our swords together in a dance of blades, | realized that | was enjoying myself. | had never considered myself to be much of a fighter, but there was something exhilarating about the way my body moved in response to the sword in my hand. Astel had always insisted that women shouldn't be sword-fighters.
The man motioned for me to take a break, handing me a water bottle. | gratefully accepted it, gulping down the cool water in one go. | let out a long sigh, my hands resting on my knees as | tried to catch my breath.
“Hey, are you all right?” Aisha asked, her eyes filled with concern. | nodded, feeling too exhausted to speak. | lifted my head to see Aisha’s face. She looked worn out, her hair matted with sweat.
“Do you need some water?” she asked, her voice soft and gentle.
“No, I’m fine,” | replied, my voice h o ars e. “I just need to rest a moment.”
She nodded, a small smile on her face. We sat down on the grass, our chests heaving as we caught our breath.
“The training is so intense,” Aisha commented, her tone a mix of awe and exhaustion. | grinned at her, feeling invigorated despite my fatigue.
“But | like it,” | admitted, surprising even myself with my words.

Aisha’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You like getting pushed around like this?” she asked incredulously.
“It's fun for me,” | said, laughing at the expression on her face. She shook her head.
Before | could even respond, someone pushed me hard from behind, sending met sprawling onto the grass. My breath was knocked out of me as | lay there, dazed and disoriented.
| heard the sound of someone laughing, a high-pitched, mocking laugh.
