Chapter 31
Chapter 31 Are You Emily?
Emily had no reason to refuse.
Makeup for thirty or forty car models: twenty thousand a day. Makeup for Jackson alone: one hundred thousand a day.
And, doing makeup for men was easier than for women.
"Are you coming or not?" Jackson impatiently urged her.
Emily gritted her teeth. "I'm coming!"
"Heh heh," Jackson chuckled. "Alright, send me your address, and I'll pick you up tomorrow."
Emily hesitated for a moment and then quickly refused. "It's not necessary, really. Just tell me the location, and I can take the bus. I don't want to trouble you."
"That place is only accessible to VIP clients," Jackson bluntly informed her. "Do you want me to wait for you at the entrance?"
Emily paused, ultimately agreeing.
"I'm staying at the Hilton Hotel."
"I'll add you as a WhatsApp friend, and you can send me your address."
There was no choice. Emily complied with his request and provided her WhatsApp.
After hanging up, his friend request quickly popped up.
Although it felt a bit strange, Emily added him as a friend. After all, Jackson was her boss, and she didn't want their relationship to be too tense.
Tonight, Mr. Satan's passion for her surpassed previous nights. While she was still looking at Jackson's WhatsApp, he suddenly scooped her up and tossed her onto the bed, initiating their night of lovemaking.
...
Jackson had said he would come to pick her up after ten in the morning.
To avoid making her boss wait, Emily got up early and went downstairs to wait.
Last time, Jackson had complained about her dressing too plainly, so today she deliberately put on the white long skirt from her closet. She paired it with a simple white T-shirt and flat shoes. Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail, swinging with her movements, looking quite adorable.
At nine forty, she was already downstairs. A bright yellow Lamborghini was parked conspicuously at the entrance.
Jackson was dressed punk today, in a leather jacket and black jeans, but with his tall stature and cold demeanor, the outfit strangely suited him.
However, it seemed Jackson hadn't noticed her yet; he was still gazing towards the Hilton Hotel entrance.
Emily approached cheerfully and greeted him in a low voice, "Morning, boss. Why are you here so early?"
As if startled by the beauty beside him, Jackson took off his sunglasses and scrutinized her carefully. "You...you're Emily?!"
Emily smiled awkwardly. "Yes, boss. You once said, a makeup artist who can't even groom themselves properly doesn't have the credibility. I've thought about it, and you're right. Besides, since I'm working with you today, I changed my outfit. Is this attire okay?" Earning someone else's money meant listening to their orders, especially when the commission was substantial. Emily felt a sense of duty to be a good employee, especially since she had publicly clashed with her boss before. She felt a bit guilty, so as long as his requests weren't too unreasonable, she was willing to cooperate.
Jackson, on the other hand, wore a dumbfounded expression with a hint of surprise, yet his eyes still sparkled with eagerness.
However, he spoke insincerely, "Your outfit is quite ordinary. Why all white? I'm not taking you to a funeral."
Emily decided not to argue with him. "I don't have clothes in other colors."
The word "in other colors" was conveniently skipped by Jackson's ears, leaving him to assume she had no other clothes to wear and that this outfit was passable.
"Let's get in the car," Jackson said, opening the passenger door for her.
It was Emily's first time seeing such a luxurious car. Instead of swinging outwards, the door lifted upwards.
Emily whispered her thanks and carefully got into the car, bending her knees as she did so.
After sitting down, Emily realized that this sports car had only two seats, with a thick white woolen blanket laid underneath.
She thought for a moment, pulled out a tissue from her bag, and placed it under her feet before stepping on the blanket, feeling more at ease.
Jackson had already taken the driver's seat and frowned when he saw her actions. "What are you doing?"
"I'm afraid of dirtying the blanket for you," Emily said sheepishly.
"Pfft," Jackson glanced at her. "Blankets are meant to be stepped on. If it gets dirty, we'll just replace it. Throw the tissue away."
Emily wanted to say more, but Jackson's imposing demeanor silenced her.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
She balled up the tissue she had pulled out from under her feet, holding it in her hand, intending to throw it away when they found a trash bin.
Seemingly noticing, Jackson drove the car about fifty meters and then stopped next to a garbage bin. "Quick, throw it away."
Emily tossed the tissue into the bin and sat up straight.
Vroom-the engine roared, and the bright yellow Lamborghini accelerated instantly.
Emily's face turned pale with fright. She tried to grab onto something, but this car was constructed differently from any other car she had been in before. It was a convertible with no handles to hold onto.
A hint of a smile played on Jackson's lips. "I personally designed the appearance of this car. There's only one like it in the world, completely unique."
Emily nodded honestly. She wasn't particularly interested in such things; what she cared about was...
"Boss, speeding results in fines."
Jackson's smile vanished instantly, replaced by a glare at her.
However, the speed did indeed slow down.
"Emily, are you staying at a hotel?" Jackson drove with one hand, casually resting the other on the car window, asking with ambiguous intent, "Alone, or with someone?" Emily chuckled softly. "With a friend."
"A friend? Male or female?"
Emily's smile became a bit forced. "Male. He pays me, and I help him with laundry, cooking, and cleaning."
Jackson breathed a sigh of relief. "So, you're also working as a maid."
"...Sort of."
Apart from sleeping with Mr. Satan, she was basically doing maid-like duties.
"Are you short on money?"
Emily nodded honestly. "Very short. My dad is seriously ill, and it costs a lot of money for his treatment."
Jackson suddenly softened. "You've had it tough."
Emily smiled but remained silent.
"Have you ever thought about finding a man to rely on?" Jackson glanced at her through the rearview mirror. "It's too hard for a girl like you to bear such a heavy burden alone."
