My Toyboy 19
When Jonathan saw Cynthia pull out that card, a wave of doubt washed over him. ‘How did she even get that card? The Jones family and the Yates family are never in a position to have one, that is for sure.’
The Royal Golf Field stretched elegantly across the landscape, nestled between hills and water, offering breathtaking views. The rich kids around Jonathan were already grabbing their clubs, eager to take their swings.
Only Jonathan stayed seated in the lounge area, where a waiter brought him a sandwich and some fancy desserts. He was used to having breakfast here in peace.
Not far away, Lilian watched him who seemed to belong to another world. Dressed from head to toe in black casual wear, Jonathan was strikingly handsome. His hands, with long fingers, casually picked up a sandwich.
The way he ate was somehow captivating–a mix of sophistication and lazy charm. He exuded a vibe similar to Cynthia’s- an effortless confidence that came from a life of privilege.
Lilian took a deep breath and approached him. “Mr. Bennett, may I sit here?”
Jonathan glanced up at Lilian standing by the seat next to him. This is a public lounge, Mrs. Yates. Feel free,” he replied politely, but with a distant tone.
Lilian sat down. “Mr. Bennett, I actually came specifically to see you today.”
“Do you need something from me?” Jonathan remained nonchalant.
Lilian gathered her courage and said, “I’m Lilian Sheppard, a reporter from Roncrity News Network. We’d like to arrange an exclusive interview with you about the Paradise Resort project.”
Jonathan didn’t even lift his gaze while responding coolly, “I’m not interested.”
“Mr. Bennett, the Paradise Resort project is launching soon, and you need some publicity to attract investments. I know you’re the acknowledged heir of the Bennett family, but your two sisters hold significant positions within the company and have major disagreements with you.
“It looks like you really need a chance to show Mr. Jackson Bennett what you can do. So, you picked the object for the project and have waited here for three years, right? Clearly, this project is really important to you,” Lilian said meaningfully.
Jonathan turned to give her a cool glance. “You seem to know quite a bit about my family’s affairs.”
Under his intense stare, Lilian felt a bit anxious, but she pressed on, “Roncrity News Network is the most authoritative traditional media outlet here. Our station is willing to cooperate with you. Whenever you need media support, Mr. Bennett, we can be there for you. This is a win–win opportunity.”
Jonathan stayed silent for a moment, as if he were considering her proposal.
Just then, a commotion broke out nearby.
Curious, Lilian turned to see what was happening and was met with a stunning sight–Cynthia was surrounded by a group of young, wealthy men, skillfully swinging a golf club. She stood tall and elegant as she made perfect strokes, capturing everyone’s attention. Lilian felt a pang of jealousy but quickly shook it off.
Just as she was about to speak again, Jonathan stand up and stride toward the crowd.
Once he reached them, he heard Tommy’s enthusiastic voice. “Wow, Ms. Jones, are you a professional athlete? I’d love to learn from you!”

“What are you doing?” Jonathan interrupted, his brow furrowing in irritation when he noticed Tommy leaning a bit too close to Cynthia.
Tommy leaned on his golf club with a grin and said, “It looks like we’ve finally met our match, Jonathan. Ms. Jones’s skills put us all to shame. I think only you stand a chance against her.”
Laughter erupted from the crowd as someone chimed in, “How about a match between Mr. Bennett and Ms. Jones?”
That was exactly what Cynthia had been waiting for. She turned to Jonathan with a bright smile. “Mr. Bennett, can you take me on?”
Cynthia looked stunning and different than usual. Dressed in sporty casuals, her tall, perfect figure was still hard to miss. She wore minimal makeup, showing off her natural beauty that radiated sophistication. Her hair was pulled up into a sleek ponytail, and her tender skin glowed like that of a fresh–faced student, which made the rich kids around her practically drool.
Before Jonathan could respond, Cynthia added teasingly, “You’re not scared, are you?”
“Ms. Jones,” someone interjected, “you don’t know Mr. Bennett. If he’s ranked second in Betrico, no one dares to take the first spot from him.”
Cynthia chuckled softly. “Well, the connections at Betrico don’t really hold much weight around here in Roncrity.”
Her implication was clear–it wasn’t that Jonathan was unbeatable; it was just that others were too intimidated to challenge him. The group exchanged glances, secretly impressed by her boldness.
Jonathan finally replied, his tone calm, “How do you want to compete?”
Cynthia gestured toward the open area ahead. “Let’s aim for that par–4 hole.”
Someone chimed in, “Just now, Ms. Jones made an impressive birdie, sinking it in three strokes!”
Jonathan remained unfazed and told the caddy beside him, “Grab my clubs.”
Cynthia continued, “Since this is a competition, how about a wager?”
“What do you want?” Jonathan asked, raising an eyebrow.
Without hesitation, Cynthia replied, “If I win, I want your first exclusive interview.”
The crowd quickly caught on–she was clearly after Jonathan, and her challenge was strategic. But they figured she was playing with fire. Though her skill was impressive–sinking a par–4 hole in three strokes was beyond amateur level, little did she know, Jonathan was no ordinary player.
The onlookers, including Lilian, eagerly watched the unfolding drama.
“Beat me first,” Jonathan said, a smirk forming on his lips.
Once everything was set, Cynthia stepped up. “You go first, Mr. Bennett.”
Jonathan didn’t hesitate. He took his position at the tee, swinging the club gracefully. Cheers erupted–he drove the ball straight onto the green.
The crowd rushed after him as Jonathan switched to his putting club, effortlessly sinking the ball into the hole. Excited applause filled the air. “What an incredible eagle! Two strokes on a par–4– great job, Mr. Bennett!”
All eyes then shifted to Cynthia, some filled with sympathy.
